I've had to go in to work as We're pretty sure a service user in my care service is ill with what I assume to be Corona. High temperature and I think a sore throat but hard to tell as she is non verbal and can't specifically tell us. The noises she can make sound throaty though.
I don't know for sure however as she 'isn't ill enough yet to be tested'. Ie she isn't yet struggling to breathe. Probably won't be long though as there are plenty of underlying health conditions.
Whatever she has will be passed in to the staff caring for her (I don't have enough already with three out self isolating) and the to the other service users a couple of whom I would class as already quite unwell with ongoing conditions.
I think she must have got it from a hospital visit on Monday, as other than that she hasn't been out for weeks due to mobility/MH issues.
Called 111 who said to monitor her and fully isolate her in a room if we can. (We can't-residents share two bathrooms and staff have to be in and out and to other clients as they nearly all need 1-1, which they already aren't getting).
Called PHE-they said to monitor her.
Called senior management-they didn't answer the phone

Left an email on the Local authority hub which is supposed to give advice in an emergency.
Called duty social work who said to call 111 🤷🏽♀️
I've had a little cry in my office, then brave faced it and went out and told the staff to keep hand washing, to clean anything she has touched etc etc. They are panicking and stressed.
We can't get any face masks, ours will run out by mid week and I'm worried about gloves-have a week to two weeks worth I think as I managed to forage some more up yesterday after usual suppliers couldn't fill order.
There is no help. No guidance. No nothing.
They talk about measures 'next week'. FFS. That's a bit too late for me actually.
