Not sure if it's accurate but interesting to see how many have recovered from it as that's never spoken of.

Can we petition or something to get the limit for contactless raised a bit??

StormyLovesOdd · 15/03/2020 22:35

Username - thank you for posting that, I hope it's true figures, it's really heartening to see that so many have recovered and it's helping calm my anxiety a little

List of professions who will continue to get childcare as schools are shut in Netherlands...

Jerseygaly I think even £50 would make a huge difference, ideally £100 though. I can’t stand to touch those pin devices even before this disaster started. The absolute filthy state some stores happily let them get to Puts me in a rage I’ll happily shame the staff for not making sure it’s clean.

SistemaAddict · 15/03/2020 22:44

I've panic eaten chocolate and am now going to read a book for a while before sleep to calm myself.

I looked outside earlier and it's such a beautiful clear night. I looked up at the stars and Venus shining brightly and everything felt even more surreal. How can there be such beauty when there is so much sickness and death?

I hope you all manage to get some restful sleep and stay well. To all the poorly posters: get well soon.

Goverment shamed into giving daily media briefings.

I think we should all accept a huge level of disruption to our lives for the next year AT LEAST. It’s far easier to process current events if you accept what is happening and tell yourself there is no control over this, we are ALL in this together, WE WILL prevail. We must be kind to eachother, help those in need and focus on staying as healthy as possible. Drink plenty of water, sleep and rest properly and find something to focus on to keep your soul happy

Someone asked when Italy went into lockdown, zona rossa almost a month ago with nearby hot spots doing similar. Lombardia last Sunday, rest of Italy from Tuesday morning (announced Monday evening) with further measures taken Wednesday evening.

buttonmoonb4tea · 15/03/2020 22:58

In a phone call on Monday, Mr Johnson will encourage leaders of the G7 nationsns*^ - Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States - to back the World Health Organization response, and provide funding and expertise to speed up the development of a vaccine.

Taken from the bbc link above. Doesn't actually make sense as he's not following the WHO advice. I think it will be the other way round and the other 6 leaders advising HIM to follow WHO advice. And fast.

Thetigeronthewobbelboard · 15/03/2020 23:04

hakuna yes but only enough for two weeks and that’s only things like meat, pulses, e.t.c... We will need to stock up on fun things like biscuits again soon.

tryingtoprep · 15/03/2020 23:09

no treatment (some antiviral could help?)

I've been wondering about the antivirals. I'd heard several HIV drugs had been fairly successful in treating it. Do these drugs help? If so, has our government ensured we have enough stock or is it like our insufficient number of ventilators and ICU beds?

That doctor WhatsApp chat made me feel so upset. What a wonderful brave man. At risk yet putting himself on the front line with no protection. He's an excellent example actually of what a load of bull the self-isolate over 70s thing is. Plenty of younger people with underlying conditions are at risk including, like this poor man, doctors. That's why other countries have put in place measures to protect everyone.

VivaLeBeaver · 15/03/2020 23:16

I don’t understand why the govt don’t sort that empty, brand new hospital in Liverpool out. It’s standing empty but has electricity, running water, etc. Diy SOS could have it ready in a week!

KenAdams · 15/03/2020 23:17

Someone posted a model of two Italian cities earlier - one with early lockdown and one later. Can anyone link to it again please - I can't find it.

Aren't there structural problems with it? That made me wonder if it is unsafe.

Angryrant55 · 15/03/2020 23:22

Not sure it's going to be enforcable to mass imprison the over 70's for breaching their quarantine without totally locking down everything italy style.
