wrt paracetamol for children.

dosage in this nhs link in case you can't get hold of liquid.

if you can get a capsule you could break it open and mix the powder with jam.

This article, showing all the experts around the world who think our government is acting irresponsibly, is incredibly damning.

@Angryrant55 I thought all junior football games were cancelled in line with the premier league.

MarshaBradyo · 15/03/2020 19:34

Angryrant I’m not surprised at those percentages.

@Angryrant55

Wow

I had a thought - lockdown is a good thing not only because people won't get the virus, but because people also won't be doing other things that could land them in A&E. Like driving, playing sport, going out drinking and taking drugs. Paramedics spend a lot of time tending to drunks, sports injuries, accidents and car crashes - in a lockdown this would pretty much stop.

cjt110 · 15/03/2020 19:50

I am very fortunate to work in an office and have the ability to wfh should we need to close or the schools shut.

My husband however works in retail and is worried what will happen if his place shuts down.

His boss has said if he is off (day for a school closure) that he needs to take holiday or unpaid. However, what would happen if the company closed down through their own choice or a government lockdown?

Does anyone have any accurate information?

France reports 924 new cases of coronavirus and 36 new deaths, raising total to 5,423 cases and 127 dead t.co/eUoE2b20hL

Angryrant55 · 15/03/2020 19:51

Not sure if drinking and drug use stops.

How are drug addicts in Italy coping?

BeijingBikini · 15/03/2020 19:56

I mean the nightclub-type drug taking, not the addict-type. Although I don't know how drug dealers are getting out and about in lockdowns....

BeijingBikini · 15/03/2020 19:56

But people falling out of Oceana and spewing in the gutter will definitely go down

Albatross123 · 15/03/2020 19:57

@yoloPenguinsEatfish
Sorry to hear about your DM. I was looking at symptoms of pneumonia and came across this old article (2001) about pneumonia that mentions other sudden deaths so I guess it is possible:

mummylondon16 · 15/03/2020 19:57

my daughter is at uni. they have stopped most large gatherings but she’s still required to attend tutorials. she’s living in halls and is washing hands etc, ive given her anti bac wipes and hand sanitiser. should i force her to come home? she has early stages of hashimotos autoimmune which isn’t necessarily a risk factor but any virus incoming will likely accelerate the autoimmune attacks that kill off her thyroid long term. (I also have this disease, currently i untreatable but can manage with measures)

Newbeginnings2 · 15/03/2020 19:58

Cjt100 I know they have temporary changed the rules with regards to statutory sick pay if people need to stay off work due to corona virus symptoms, I’m not sure if that applies if business is shut due to the virus though.
There won’t be the usual 3 waiting days before it’s paid and it will be reimbursed to small businesses again, which it isn’t currently, don’t think that’s going to be nearly enough to help employees or businesses through this though

ofwarren · 15/03/2020 20:00

Newbeginnings2 · 15/03/2020 20:01

Germany, wow think we need to take a leaf out of their book

Lynamic · 15/03/2020 20:01

Was there a cobra meeting today ?

Angryrant55 · 15/03/2020 20:03

I think in germany its good healthcare, testing and luck it seems to be not affecting the elderly yet.

But they death rate is sure to surge a bit soon.
