Any news on today’s figures

GuessWhoBoo · 15/03/2020 14:42

The Wales figures were 2 hours and 25 minutes late being put on. They usually update at 11 wasn't updated until 1.25 today.

Ken Reid - 'There are eleven new cases of #COVIDー19 in Northern Ireland bringing the total to 45.'

DonkeyKong2019 · 15/03/2020 14:43

Wonder if they will wait for shops to close to avoid any increase panic buy surge?

@Lotuscup563

No figures for England

MurrayTheMonk · 15/03/2020 14:45

Yes so they'll get two days worth of SSP, which will total about £15, before they get their actual sick pay.

userxx · 15/03/2020 14:45

@cinammonbuns It's from day 1. As long as you've signed a contract, not sure if it applies to probation periods but I think in these circumstances it will be paid as the government will have to step in to pay.

SonicRevolution · 15/03/2020 14:45

What's the link for the England/UK figures please?

Please sign..I need people to sponsor the petition to restart community testing for coronavirus then it will be allowed to begin collecting signatures once checked

defthand · 15/03/2020 14:46

This is the day we may start to see some decline — it takes 48 hours to produce the test results and it was a couple of days back now they ended non-hospital testing.

danni0509 · 15/03/2020 14:46

@SonicRevolution they are not out yet.

Lotuscup563 · 15/03/2020 14:47

Yes, the numbers will be low, as it’s just hospital cases now....not a true representative of what is going on!

Ciwirocks · 15/03/2020 14:47

Please don’t take kids to A&E with suspected coronavirus symptoms without calling first! You could put staff and other children at risk. If your son came into contact with several staff members and they then had to take time off it won’t be long before there are no staff to safely staff the departments. Not to mention that those staff may have their own children or immunocompromised relatives or maybe even in an at risk group themselves.

MurrayTheMonk · 15/03/2020 14:48

The figures will look lower won't they? Which will make muppets who think this is All an exaggeration think they were right. Brilliant.

cocodomingo · 15/03/2020 14:48

When the figures are late, they are usually really high. Using the graph on PHE as a guess, today's figures are between 250 and 400 new cases.

MacronsPensWiper · 15/03/2020 14:49

Ciwie who does she call?.. 111 said keep an eye and and she has no calpol

Lotuscup563 · 15/03/2020 14:49

He has a extremely high temperature and it’s been days! He is a human too!! Should he just stay on the sofa until he dehydrates or worse!! If he needs help....he needs help!

1happyhippie · 15/03/2020 14:49

Today’s numbers won’t mean much I don’t think. We will see fewer confirmed cases as they are testing fewer people.
Not sure why they are late though.

MarshaBradyo · 15/03/2020 14:50

Murray honestly the case figures will become meaningless. It’s the death rate people will hear.

Mordred · 15/03/2020 14:50

Listening to Jeff Wayne's 'War of the Worlds'. It seems suitably apocalyptic.

I know we're not being invaded by Martians, but viruses are so bloody alien in a way. They're not really alive. They don't eat, they don't excrete and can't even reproduce without hijacking living cells and turning them into factories that produce millions of copies of themselves until the cell bursts open and the viruses go on to infect others. A mini-zombie apocalypse, perhaps.

defthand · 15/03/2020 14:50

Hopefully they will continue to publish the test numbers so we can tell. There may be still be some lag in the numbers — I have heard of test results taking 5 days+ to come through for some.

woodpigeons · 15/03/2020 14:52

Screwfix have FFP3 masks and not at silly prices.
They aren’t available for delivery, only click and collect, so have to check stock in your local store.

ofwarren · 15/03/2020 14:53

UPDATE on #COVIDー19 testing in the UK:

Today's figures will be published later this afternoon.

We are working hard to provide you with the latest information and will tweet this out as soon as possible.

middleager · 15/03/2020 14:53

Mordred the chances of anything coming from Sars are a (insert %) to one they say....
