My DH grew up in a developing country (very poor, military dictatorship). He is amused by panic buying over loo roll and keeps saying, “people do know they can wash their bum?”

Ask friends/family/neighbours on social media or in person if someone can let you have some.

@Sunshinelollipops1 has it.
Pretty pathetic that we are in thrall to toilet paper.
It's great. I prefer it. I'm a general prepper so I have obviously planned for alternatives.

Just have a clench then a little wiggle. Easy.

Hold the front page - I've found the solution. You even get a selection of prints to choose from...

people do know they can wash their bum

Maybe they don't? It's probably a totally alien concept to many British people with no heritage from other cultures. I admit to being aprehensive about using 'the bum hose' when I went on a diving holiday on a boat in Egypt, but following instruction from a very helpful 'how not to make a fool of yourself on a liveaboard' website, I got the hang of it and saw the benefit.

Newspaper like the old days.

We use to have squares of it in the outside loo.

Don't use kitchen roll with any kind of regularity. A guy clearing our drain once told me that - it will clog the wastepipe. Maybe better cutting up an old sheet into little pieces, then bagging them up in the rubbish?

Bidet
Tissues
Kitchen towel

My Mum often used to forget to buy toilet paper and we would find old paper dress patterns hanging in the loo - and newspaper!

I dont think the back of the fag packet would last very long.

Hand.
Desperation has driven me to this in work - combo of supplies manager not refilling the bog roll when asked and IBD 😭. Wasn’t too grim and would do again if necessary.

It's spring, we'll soon be able to use dock leaves.
This is not something that worries me but we're it not on the cornonavirus threads the whole if the MN OCD cleaning brigade would pile on here.

would someone kindly explain how to use a bottle of water to wash. People say just pour it but what do you do?
How do you not get it all over the floor or toilet?

Are you standing, or sitting, or leaning forward?
