I think as well with Italy and Spain we at least see the picture however horrible as I don’t think we did from China

The government have been very clear on the schools closures and they do not want to close schools...

The measures they mentioned was to ask the whole family to isolate.
Then ask the elderly to isolate that's all.

It's wrong to keep mentioning schools closures when they were very clear, to them and their special data, school closures have minimal effects.

At the moment, you self isolate with symptoms but your own family doesn't have too. So perhaps I have it, I won't be tested and my two dc and dh will go to school and work.

The next 'increment' would be to ask the whole team family to isolate.

Surely right now total worldwide travel should be terminated? There’s no justification to keep it going right now. Utter madness.

I think most people will self isolate (if they can) if a family member gets the virus, regardless of what the government says.

Keep calm and Carry on is going to be our fucking nemesis. It's going to turn into keep calm and Carry on dying. So angry how cavalier the Gvt has been . They didn't do enough when they had that tiny window of opportunity to prevent, or at least severely limit this, and they're not doing enough now. Half a million people dying was not inevitable!

I'm a full time carer. I'm not elite nor do I think I am.
However, we have gang problems in the UK, that's not secret, and some will use an excuse to get a new pair of kicks.

And frankly, wishing this illness on someone with a child withing conditions, well I know I'm definitely better than scum that pulls that.

I think they're trying to put off the school closures until the Easter break and then they simply won't re-open afterwards.

I don't have school age kids, but if I did and I was worried I certainly wouldn't bother about unauthorised absence I'd just keep them at home if able to do so.

I don't think fines will be an issue three or four months down the line...

I meant I hope this situation gives you a more empathetic viewpoint on the certain sections of society you referred to in your post.

I am no fan of Trump but he has maintained a presence in the US with live daily updates.
We are getting very little from from our government, especially Boris who just stutters the occasional 'wash your hands'!

It was demanded after the administration could provide no logical explanation for exempting Britain.

Incredible. President Trump asked if the reports are true that Brits are being banned from going to the US. He says it's 'something we're looking into'.

Now minutes later Vice President Pence confirms the UK ban has already been decided, will go into effect Midnight Monday EST.

It would appear that President Trump is either not involved in US #CoronaVirus planning, or not paying attention.

The image of him rushing out of that press briefing now, handing over to Pence, will be enduring.

Trump is not interested in dealing with this.
