Boris is trying to kill off the old and infirm

"you will loose loved ones". Get over it. We are not taking any action to stop it. The old and vulnerable will die. 80% of us will catch coronavirus.

I do not like these messages. It's like he doesn't care about the elderly or vulnerable at all.

Is he trying to kill them off to make some savings in the NHS? It certainly feels like it.

AIBU to make this assumption?

Boris doesn’t want to kill off his voters, surely!

Glassio · 13/03/2020 21:54

totally ridiculous and unreasonable yes

attatiti · 13/03/2020 21:56

You are being ridiculous

Splitsunrise · 13/03/2020 21:56

Post in the right topic

Joyfulljenny · 13/03/2020 21:57

I agree tbh.

Expect death.

I feel he wants to reduce the pension burden.

SerendipitySunshine · 13/03/2020 21:58

Yes, that seems to be the plan. The sick and disabled too.

InfiniteSheldon · 13/03/2020 21:58

Yabu and an idiot and unpleasant no wonder the Tories won the bloody election the opposite is too busy virtue signalling to be even vaguely credible

FlyingFlamingo · 13/03/2020 21:58

I am far from Boris’ biggest fan and I wouldn’t vote Conservative if they were the last party left on earth but I don’t think he is actively trying to kill people off, he has listened to experts (for once) and he is probably for the first time in his life being honest - people will die, and that is horrific and terrifying. Measures will be taken, I personally think this will be the last ‘normal’ week for a while, but we need to time this right. We just don’t know at this stage but it certainly isn’t a Tory plot (for a start they’d be killing off their largest demographic of voters!)

maddiemookins16mum · 13/03/2020 21:58

Oh behave, you’re sounding deranged.

lljkk · 13/03/2020 21:59

Yup you're totally right, OP. He's starting with all the candidates for POTUS. Then onto the majority population of Europe. Africans and middle Easterners can conquer western Europe for the spoils, with the massively youthful populations. BJ is especially out to get his own parents.

LouMumsnet · 13/03/2020 21:59

We're moving this to the dedicated Coronavirus topic now. Flowers

lunar1 · 13/03/2020 22:00

The best way to protect the elderly is to keep schools open so children aren't sent to grandparents for childcare.

Lindy2 · 13/03/2020 22:01

Well I prefer plain speaking to sugar coating.

Did you want him to say everything is going to be just fine?

SlackerMum1 · 13/03/2020 22:01

You are being massively unreasonable and it really doesn’t help right now. So no, literally 100s of 1000s of people across the UK and many more across the world are working flat out to make sure that doesn’t happen. They may not succeed. And that is a tragedy. The Gov guided by the CMO and CSO are trying to land a space ship on a dime by deploying measures at the right time to protect as many people as possible. They might get it wrong. But not for want of trying. No one wants anyone to die.

Geometricprince · 13/03/2020 22:02

Well he'd be killing off a huge amount of his voters so I'd say not. And I loathe Boris and all things Tory

BadCatDirtyCat · 13/03/2020 22:03

YANBU.

LuckyAmy1986 · 13/03/2020 22:04

But we will lose loved ones. Some of us. He was just being honest, it’s unavoidable, unfortunately. I can’t believe so many people have an issue with him saying that. He wasn’t being malicious.

Sarahlou63 · 13/03/2020 22:05

He's softening up public opinion to accept the premature deaths of the elderly and sick as inevitable. Is he being pragmatic or cynical? I don't know.

midgebabe · 13/03/2020 22:10

Being honest? Pointing out that it is really rather serious, so serious that taking an economic hit is worth it, even if you are self employed with a family to feed

CoronLona · 13/03/2020 22:10

Well, as someone who is very likely to lose their loved one if they catch coronavirus, I am not happy with just being expected to accept this fact. And not is my loved one by the way. I want more done. I just feel like he doesn't care and is almost happy to let it happen...

Butterwhy · 13/03/2020 22:13

What would you do then OP?

BlueBirdGreenFence · 13/03/2020 22:14

Where the hell is he at? I feel like I've heard from every Tom, Dick and Harry about the situation but he's nowhere to be seen.
