That's more than have died in the whole outbreak, a lot more? Surely that can't be right?

GuessWhoBoo · 13/03/2020 18:21

@SirVixofVixHall Yes ITV Wales.

CharlieTangoBanana · 13/03/2020 18:21

Someone in my village is coordinating welfare checks, meal, shopping deliveries for all residents who want to self isolate on the back of our GP practice advising ALL over 70's and vulnerable patients to self isolate.

Surely we are seeing the early steps in social unrest and people trying to take control.

Prime Minister of Denmark says borders will temporarily close from tomorrow due to the coronavirus pandemic but danish citizens will still be allowed to enter the country

GuessWhoBoo · 13/03/2020 18:22

@Beebityboo No idea but I just watched his interview, he definitely says it. We're obviously going to be hit the hardest here if that's true.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/03/2020 18:23

Thanks GuessWhoBoo will watch later.

@CharlieTangoBanana

I saw a notice for that near me - inner London here.

National Guard says it will deploy up to 1,000 troops six states by the end of the day in Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, New York, Rhode Island and Washington state to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

The elements of medical I agree with most of his points as well.

Esp, they want to flatten the peak but ARE TAKING NO MEASURES TO DO SO.

Infact quite the opposite.

There will be no clusters in the UK.. We have done and continue to mix sooo much... It will be raging nationwide.. No pulling staff or equipment.

No running from one part of the country to the other. Because its going to hit everywhere and at once...

Also the idiocy and hypocrisy... We are too inept apparently to choose whether our elderly loved ones look after dc or indeed whether elderly loved ones accept the choice... To say yes or no... We can't make that decision but people can be trusted to self isolate and stop work for sniffles and a cough?.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/03/2020 18:26

Wales ( more rural Wales in particular) has the lowest number of beds and an older population badly served for health care. We are likely to be the worst affected. Road next to me only has one resident under 70 .
Anyone thinking of a lovely holiday in Pembrokeshire, rural Carmarthenshire, or the North Wales coast this Easter, spreading the virus about, can fuck off frankly.

MollyButton · 13/03/2020 18:27

From work we've been advised in the first instance you are supposed to use the NHS 111 online tool, rather than phoning NHS 111.

On the other hand my employer seems to be behaving well and doing its best.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/03/2020 18:28

I am going to try and co-ordinate something in my village to help people in isolation.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 13/03/2020 18:28

The WHO I think have inferred our Goverment's strategy is dangerous and wrong.

DH reckons that people in the UK wouldn't stand for a month long lock down... I reckon most would and quite frankly if people break it I don't care what would happen to them. They are endangering the lives of others.

I think we have been sold for a science experiment in the hope this high risk stategy may pay off as a 1 in a million bet.
Boris is knowingly gambling with people's lives.

500k dead... could be 1 million could be 10 million. God knows what will happen when the NHS collapses completely and we descend into mass civil unrest.

No way out.

Angryrant55 · 13/03/2020 18:30

My doctor have locked the doors but can't cope with the mass panic of everyone phoning in with a fever with employers still demanding a certificate ignoring the government advice to self isolate for 7 days.

ofwarren · 13/03/2020 18:31

Sir Graham Brady has just emailed Conservative MPs telling them that the House of Commons "has cancelled all events" t.co/dQOR5q7opI

So they cancel THEIR fucking events!

FacingtheAbess · 13/03/2020 18:33

Yours if its a choice between 65 Millon people carrying on as normal, going to sporting fixtures, (which apparently don't spread it like closed places eg schools)

Or, lock down... Society peer pressure to lock down with some.... Movement.. I'd rather take the latter.

The weather is improving daily.
People in the countryside, walking, picnics at distance surely is better than people carrying on totally normally?

ofwarren · 13/03/2020 18:34

POLAND- BANS ALL FOREIGNERS FROM ENTERING THE COUNTRY. CITY CENTRES SHUT DOWN. Events over 50 people banned. Restaurants, bars- closed. Banks and food stores to remain open.

I hope teachers refuse to go to work, Boris is using them as cannon fodder while the House of Commons cancels their events.

Also, 65 million people WON'T BE ABLE to 'carry on' as normal because a fuck of a lot of them will be SICK.

fedup21 · 13/03/2020 18:37

Sir Graham Brady has just emailed Conservative MPs telling them that the House of Commons "has cancelled all events"

Does that include parliament sitting?

defthand · 13/03/2020 18:38

Jeez, EU countries locking down their borders and we’re not even discouraging gatherings.

This oughta end well...Sad

MarshaBradyo · 13/03/2020 18:39

Border shutting is a bit late if they have cases. It’ll still be hard to contain it once they do.
