So at the moment it's hand sanitiser, handwash and toilet rolls. What's next ?

Bleach

IAmUniquelyMe · 08/03/2020 22:37

I have the problem in reverse.

DS has autism and mental health issues. He lives alone. He only buys for the day. Anything left over, he will not use the next day.

wowfudge · 08/03/2020 22:39

If we haven't got trade deals sorted by the end of the year, this kind of thing could potentially be a lot worse for all of us.

anappleadaykeeps · 08/03/2020 22:49

Dark chocolate.

Daffodil101 · 08/03/2020 22:54

I like pasta. I don’t like tea. So I won’t be buying tea. I could do with more milk. I’ll get more milk and I’m ok for toilet roll. I’ve got some bleach because the woman next door bought too much when she bleached her drive and she can’t store it because her Colin’s been messing with his bike in the garage so there’s all spanners on the shelves.

I’m wondering about candles because what if the electricity goes off? People working the electricity might get sick or maybe they’ll be forced to stay at work, which I’d be livid about but maybe they could helicopter drop sandwiches and things they don’t have to cook?

I’m also thinking cash because probably there will be a run on the cash machines and I’ll need cash so I’m going to withdraw £300 per day for the next week. And I’ve ordered disposable gloves too (can’t be too careful!). I’ve got a wind up radio that we bought when they toppled Saddam because honestly I thought it was WW3 and I’ve still got three tins of ham from that, but thinking about it, it’s probably gone off.

Long life milk had sold out in Tesco today.

nzborn · 08/03/2020 23:00

couldn't get walnuts in Morrisons this week.

worldweary45 · 08/03/2020 23:01

SqueakyLottieBasie123 · 08/03/2020 23:06

LemonFrenzy · 08/03/2020 23:12

LemonFrenzy · 08/03/2020 23:13

champagneandfromage50 · 08/03/2020 23:14

Pasta shelves were empty in Sainsbury's as to was rice and most of the washing liquid

Daffodil101 · 08/03/2020 23:15

There are still plenty of Easter eggs in Sainsbury’s. And bowls.

caringcarer · 08/03/2020 23:17

Cat and dog food when people realise tney can eat lots of things but cats and dogs just have tins in gravy, jelly or crunchies.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 08/03/2020 23:20

Cat and Dog food is edible for humans apparently. Human tester.

If you fry it with onions and a bit of cayenne pepper it's probably not too bad, and you'll be way ahead of the preppers.

RosehipRuthie · 08/03/2020 23:25

Hand cream for all those sore hands, dried out through washing!

CallmeAngelina · 08/03/2020 23:40

The small-medium-sized mid-town Asda near me had plenty of everything this morning. Not very busy either.

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/03/2020 00:05

Aldi this afternoon had plenty of toilet paper.
I haven't bought anything extra for myself, but I did get a few packets of ibuprofen for a relative who is immunosuppressed, and absolutely needs them.

Daffodil101 · 09/03/2020 00:08

My local co op immediately sold out of those new caramel flavoured Kit Kat bars. Four finger.

Fortunately I’d already had one when I was out walking though I wish I’d waited until I got home because I’d have enjoyed it more and now I can’t have one.

IAmUniquelyMe · 09/03/2020 00:26

@Lemon

Thanks for reminding me about Spam. Ages since I had it. If I get some bread which I usually don't buy, I can have some comfort food in the form of spam and brown sauce sarnie! Lovely 😋

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/03/2020 01:05

Did somebody just say spam ?
Spam fritters - brilliant you just need a tin of spam, eggs and flour

I dare you all Grin

Jade1976 · 09/03/2020 07:13

CoOp in rural Oxfordshire, had everything except loo roll last night.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 09/03/2020 07:34

I flipping love spam. My mum fries it and seasons it carribbean style. Trust me you'll actively ask for spam once you taste it.

Same with corned beef

I'll be upset if there's no spam in the shops.

MachineBee · 09/03/2020 08:08

Lorry and van drivers will be in short supply if this gets a grip of the community. So those online delivery slots will be harder to find too.

And anyone needing an engineer to fix things like a boiler may also not wish to visit people in their homes who are self isolating.

sleepingpup · 09/03/2020 08:25

with all this hand washing- hand cream.
