Only 2 more cases today - that's a good thing right?

Alone07 · 04/03/2020 12:30

@Random18 aww I see thank you

Random18 · 04/03/2020 12:30

Scattered that is Scotland only.

Its went from 1 case yesterday to 3 cases today..........

LarkDescending · 04/03/2020 12:30

Only 2 cases so far today, with the England announcement still to come.

Ciwirocks · 04/03/2020 12:31

I would think the 2 cases would be so far today and there will be more later. I have relatives who have been tested, they have been told 72 hours for results

ScatteredMama82 · 04/03/2020 12:31

oh :(

When Swine flu was happening, did they tall about it like they do about Coronavirus

Definitely not, at least that was my experience. There was a bit of a flap at first and I remember more people wearing masks (I live in a country where masks are worn a lot in the winter anyway). For a little bit. Then it all died down. This time it all feels very different.

SARS was alarming because of the high death rate, but it became apparent after a while that it was not all that infectious, and it did not spread all that much.

Germany's health minister says coronavirus "has become a global pandemic""

SouthwarkRoad · 04/03/2020 12:35

Just tried to do an ocado shop and it was out of stock of basically everything.

Sainsbury's online seemed fine.

JadeDay · 04/03/2020 12:41

I worrying about travelling to London. My work means I mostly work from home, but next week I have three commitments in London. I have weak lungs due to pneumonia as a child... would you back out?

MaxNormal · 04/03/2020 12:42

One of the new Scottish cases is in Ayrshire and one in Grampian.
Ayrshire case had been to high risk area, Grampian one had contact with another known case but not the Tayside one.

ChipotleBlessing · 04/03/2020 12:45

@SouthwarkRoad Tesco is fine too. I think Ocado must be having some internal problems because there’s no reason they would be the only food delivery chain affected if it were due to people bulk buying.

justchecking1 · 04/03/2020 12:47

I can imagine Ocado being more affected though because they do the 30% off your first order offer

Italy may close schools all over country due to coronavirus: government source t.co/kzT6vRxCQE t.co/3CnYfkyVzs

quiteathome · 04/03/2020 12:52

Has Ocado changed to M&S yet? Or is it still with Waitrose. That might cause supply issues. Clutching at straws..

Baaaahhhhh · 04/03/2020 12:52

Just tried to do an ocado shop and it was out of stock of basically everything

Probably because they sent out that stupid email a few days ago saying they had no delivery slots and were running out of everything.

Glittercandle · 04/03/2020 12:54

Ocado changes to M&S in September.
I haven’t had any issues putting items in my Ocado shop. I have Hand sanitiser in my shop for Saturday and really hope it arrives!

LarkDescending · 04/03/2020 12:54

Ocado is still with Waitrose. It said yesterday that people needed to book deliveries early as it was seeing an increase in very large orders. Perhaps that in turn has led to further panic buying?

NEW: Netherlands reports 15 new cases of coronavirus, taking country's total to 38 t.co/eUoE2b20hL

Springsnake · 04/03/2020 13:01

I went in to Sainsbury’s today ,not a single hand sanitizer to be had ,I asked the lady on the till if Sainsbury’s were supplying staff members any sanitizer, she said no ..
I’m shocked,I assumed Sainsbury’s would look after their staff ,
But like I said up tread my daughter is a police officer and she hasn’t been given any by the police..
I’m going to have to resort to buy some for mega bucks of amazon

Springsnake · 04/03/2020 13:03

Also none in Superdrug or boots or Tesco ...wtf
Why haven’t shops got enough in

summerdown · 04/03/2020 13:04

Surgical spirit or rubbing alcohol is still readily availble. Just add some aloe vera gel (to spread) and a few drops of lavendar or similar. It will work just as well

strawberrylipgloss · 04/03/2020 13:04

DS works at a Superdrug where they sold their latest delivery of 450 bottles of hand gel in an hour. This is a store in a shopping centre- not somewhere like a train station with massive footfall

FourTeaFallOut · 04/03/2020 13:05

I suppose it takes a bit of time to ramp up the scale of production to meet demand on one type of products that doesn't normally feature in its top sellers.

fullofteandneedstopee · 04/03/2020 13:06
