My office has set everyone up on their own laptops or new ones provided by the company so we can work from home if needs be. They are also installing hand sanitizers where you come into work, but if they can get the gel to go in them, then who knows?!

CrunchyCarrot · 03/03/2020 10:45

qorkforcd7

'Workforce' methinks.

NotJustACigar · 03/03/2020 10:45

"Police and fire services will only respond to the most serious call-outs if their staff fall ill through coronavirus" ... Great, they're using coronavirus as an excuse for yet more cutbacks to essential services. I ever what they consider "most serious".

Konicek007 · 03/03/2020 10:45

How come there is 39 cases if yesterday was 40?

TreesSandSea · 03/03/2020 10:46

I’m on a train to London

I’ve just seen a member of staff walking through the carriage with a bottle of virucidal spray and a cloth. Well done GWR!

On the downside, there are two people in my carriage with unpleasant coughs making no effort to contain their germs 🦠

WaterSheep · 03/03/2020 10:47

Now it's a 4 step plan

contain

Delay

Research

Mitigate

LarkDescending · 03/03/2020 10:47

Konicek2007

40 cases announced, minus one false positive (doctor) = 39 cases.

SistemaAddict · 03/03/2020 10:47

But what IS your plan?? Bumbling fool.

Number12 · 03/03/2020 10:48

@Cheeseismylife how did you find out about the teachers dh? Have the school not announced anything? I would freak!! Would the teacher not have disclosed to the head that her dh had been to a hotspot at the start of term?? The teacher would have to be tested nd kept off, did her dh go back to work... So many questions!!

My youngest dc has a teacher who's dh is a gp in an area with one confirmed case. That's a worry to me. Have your kids gone go school today?

WaterSheep · 03/03/2020 10:49

The plan doesn't contain what we will do, it sets out what we might do.

Confused
CrunchyCarrot · 03/03/2020 10:49

WASH YOUR HANDS!

SistemaAddict · 03/03/2020 10:49

Ffs. What a waste of time.

CrunchyCarrot · 03/03/2020 10:51

No-one ever mentions the homeless. Surely they are a high risk group.

Outfoxed · 03/03/2020 10:52

9 new cases here in Sweden this morning, certainly feels like its starting to ramp up.

Givemeabreakpls · 03/03/2020 10:52

Sorry, I’m trying to get my head around the announcement that police will only attend the most serious crimes if police staffing falls...I mean yes, but should that be announced? Is non-violent crime about to see a sudden opportunistic surge?!!

justchecking1 · 03/03/2020 10:53

How come there is 39 cases if yesterday was 40?

There's 41 on Worldometer. They didn't remove one yesterday and they've added another today. Not sure why 🤷🏻‍♀️

WashingHandsBoris · 03/03/2020 10:54

interesting to see what the figures will be at 2pm!

Justaboy · 03/03/2020 10:55

I'm not a medical person, but do adults have rougher lungs than children?

Maybe so but as yet so little is known of this couldnt say for certin, is that is the case tho i suspect not!

Heebeejeebie · 03/03/2020 10:57

There’s 43 on the WHO dashboard

Originalyellowbelly · 03/03/2020 10:57

Not really telling us anything are they? Where is the plan?

BrokenBrit · 03/03/2020 10:57

I think the PMs speech this morning has been incredibly disappointing. A whole lot of nothing Confused.

WaterSheep · 03/03/2020 10:59

Where's the plan?

There doesn't appear to be any current plan, other than wash your hands.

They talk about containment, but don't appear to be putting in any measures to help contain it. Confused

CrunchyCarrot · 03/03/2020 10:59

His speech was over almost before it began! Blink and you'd have missed it. Underwhelming!

Konicek007 · 03/03/2020 11:00

Thank you. Is there another one? I was hoping it would stop somehow.
but where I live there was a parent in school tested positive so that’s must be the newest one..

RocketFire · 03/03/2020 11:02

medical staff coming out of retirement....will there be a premium for this then? essentially putting their lives at risk by working again
