I though this was a sarcastic thread about the number of threads then Grin

SansaSnark, the difference with the UK schools that have had staff diagnosed is that they are closed for 'deep cleaning' and then plan to reopen quickly. The Dublin school has said it will be closed for 14 days and staff and pupils given advice to minimise their movements until after the incubation period.

1000 posts in a day!

Llamallamadingdong · 01/03/2020 22:10

@Needtobepositive she is almost 8 and was diagnosed aged 3. Often I find that sugars going off is the first sign she’s brewing some virus. They go really high and the next day she wakes up snotty.

Its hard if she’s ill and doesn’t want to eat/drink. I’ve got a stash of sugar free ice pops to help get fluid in and resort to fruit/veg with a relatively high water and low sugar content (and dose accordingly). Stuff like grapes, strawberries, cubes of melon, cucumber etc. Soothing if straight from the fridge and soft if throats are sore etc. I think it’s fairly useful advice for kids generally.

@GPwife2411 I haven’t contacted our team, have a feeling we’ll get a similar response to the yours.

@AbsentmindedWoman those are all really helpful tips, thanks for sharing.

I don’t want to derail the thread but happy to PM back and forth to talk diabetes.

From twitter:
Yesterday I mentioned that there are conflicting reports on whether Dean of Gilan University has #COVIDー19

Today it has been finally confirmed.

I usually do an ocado order on Sunday lunchtime for Monday and can get a delivery slot around 1300 on the next day. I broke from the norm and tried a day early on Saturday. The earliest slot for Monday I could get was 3-4pm and a lot of tinned food was sold out! I think people are stock piling. Also they were totally sold out of all hand sanitisers. I think it’s all going to explode over this week!

Hugglespuffed · 01/03/2020 22:12

I'm sorry I'm not able to keep up to date with all of the threads as they are so fast moving! I'm trying to read as much as I can when I get a chance.
Is there any indication what the numbers will be up to tomorrow?

Did someone say they will start to lockdown at 100 cases ?

littlealexhorne · 01/03/2020 22:12

Someone posted on a local group claiming to be doctor saying that they'd had several cases diagnosed in the past few days. I froze reading it until it hit me that they would've been reported on if it were true, there's been no reported cases in my county yet (Thank God). I just can't believe people are so low to make this up, as if there isn't already enough panic around anyway?

ofwarren · 01/03/2020 22:13

Another Iranian case:
#Breaking Fatemeh Rahbar, an MP has been hospitalised in the ICU due to #COVIDー19

Her husband has also been hospitalised

Quartz2208 · 01/03/2020 22:16

I thought it was stopping testing at some point (I dont think Italy test so much anymore)

Rosspoldarkssaddle · 01/03/2020 22:17

Not sure why the media are not telling people where in the country (like Italy) they had been. So far it is all about if you are travelling to the 11 locked down areas. Did they? Or did they go elsewhere in Italy and picked it up there? Why are people arriving from affected countries not being immediately tested on arrival in the UK? Are those in the ports checking the journeys of the truck drivers, coaches and cars that arrive? Is the government providing additional funding for additional staff to carry out the checks? What about funding for the pods, tests and care by the nhs?

Springinsight · 01/03/2020 22:18

Phew I also thought I'd missed 2 threads 😂

Llamallamadingdong · 01/03/2020 22:19

@littlealexhorne ask for their GMC number...

LouMumsnet · 01/03/2020 22:20

Thanks for the mail, @GPwife2411 - we've now edited your thread title so people aren't forever asking you where threads 9 and 10 went. Grin

ofwarren · 01/03/2020 22:20
