Conflict in the Middle East

Why would would you still have pro Palestinian marches apart from now instilling more fear into the Jewish community

Now we have what looks like a peace to be celebrated why are people still going to march for Palestine? The genocide has stopped in their opinion so shouldn't they be at least joyful or if that is not the case what do they really want? Do they want to keep marching until the Israeli state is no more?

Antisemitism, hiding in plain sight.

Not actually even hiding, not even for 10 seconds on 7 October.

I was asking the poster who said "Africa" not sure why you needed to tell me what you said it is irrelevant to my post

It's relevant to say I know what a population of starving people look like from the images & footage coming out of Ethiopa a few years back. Nothing like the images & footage of the people who are living in Gaza.

That there are food shortages, food anxiety and malnutrition is not denied. That some vulnerable people have died form lack of access to the right food or medicine is not denied. But famine? No, I don't see famine thankfully.

Bigpinksweater · 14/10/2025 21:03

Pasly · 14/10/2025 20:56

Seriously cognitive dissonance! No we choose to trust the experts nothing has come out of Gaza to suggest the opposite.

‘Famine’ is probably a technical term with its own requirements, and as I said, I have no doubt there is food insecurity and people are probably not eating as well as they would like. But this not a famine hit country in the same way Ethiopia can be a famine hit country. It just isn’t.

A lot of you are going to feel very foolish at lapping up the lies of Hamas.

Are TRAs really the only comparable group you can think of in this context?
Would you tell any other minority group that they just have to put up with it if they feel attacked and intimidated?

It's much more sinister than that. Radical Islam wants Jews dead and gone, starting but not ending with Israel. It's that simple. They organised the first marches in London as 7/10/23 was still happening, for the following weekend. They've had Brits marching along with them shouting genocidal chants, and must be thrilled to see all the flag-waving. Their mission, for now at least, has failed in Israel, but I'm sure they are not abandoning all hope of achieving their goal, when so many Westerners are eager to lend them support - including pensioners being arrested in defence of Palestine Action despite its cofounder praising Hamas on 8/10/23 and the group being proscribed as a terrorist organisation.

Can someone explain to me how any of this is similar to the trans movement?

And how did the people look who were liberated? Starving and on the brink of death.

I’m grateful the Palestinians look better than expected, I really and truly am. But I don’t have to unquestioningly believe things I’m told if the evidence of my eyes is very very different.

There's no hatred in my heart if that's your point.

I just believe the evidence of my own eyes.

You are missing completely the pps post

It’s trans attacks on women !
Women aren’t a minority group

Trans attacks on women? PP agreed with your post where you said:

As you say ’no one has a right not to be offended’ (…) We have similar going on in the GC movement with trans people being offended and scared by every word, but words that upset others are not always Hate speech and harassment.

That was a reply to @SharonEllis saying: “You could choose not to join marches that intimidate a minority.”

So it pretty much sounds like you’re drawing a parallel between the minority Sharon is talking about and trans people who get easily offended.

Bigpinksweater · 14/10/2025 21:09

I think they’re unequivocal. No sane person would look at any videos of Gaza and say, ‘that’s a famine hit area’.

I honestly think the web of lies will slowly unfurl over the next 5 or so years and people will be shocked and ashamed at how easily Hamas lead them on.

Sadly I don’t think so.

Most of these people will never be able to accept or admit their hatred of Jewish people, who have done absolutely nothing except be scapegoated and persecuted for centuries, and have also massively contributed to humanity with their intelligence, creativity, and resilience, was greater than their disgust of an evil terrorist entity who committed the type of atrocities committed on Oct 7th.

Because what does that say about them, themselves?

I find the psychology of it fascinating.

It's not your own eyes though is it? You're not there, you are viewing images on a TV screen and tbh with the advent of AI you can believe less and less of what you see through video images. It is far more reliable to interpret the data and the medical experts

noblegiraffe · 14/10/2025 21:18

On the subject of what starving people look like - we know that Evyatar David was starved, we have all seen the emaciated photo of him in the tunnel. However, on his release, he doesn't look that bad.

Avinatan Or, it has been reported has lost 30-40% of his body weight. Again, in his release photos he looks thin, but not shockingly emaciated.

So I'm not sure I know what someone who has been starved should look like. Particularly with clothes on. Those men definitely were starved but don't look like famine victims to me either.

Absolutely sickening. Just as the people who kept ripping down yellow ribbons and hostage posters.

They have stated that they were overfed in the months leading up to their release so that they would gain weight and not look emaciated which wouldn't be a good look for hamas. As we know, refeeding after starvation should be done cautiously, so this has created another set of issues for them, such as severe stomach pain

Agreed. I find it so sad. Jewish people display impeccable British values, respect others, bring so much to our society and get treated like this after how they have already been treated. I think people forget how short a time period 1945 is until now - and just how many were murdered. I just despair at how suicidal the Brits can be in their support of enemy regimes who would actively wish them harm.

As you say
’no one has a right not to be offended’ and I’m glad you have brought that up because I didn’t want to be the one to do so as it is quite contentious.

We have similar going on in the GC movement with trans people being offended and scared by every word, but words that upset others are not always Hate speech and harassment. And
Being offended is unavoidable if people disagree

No one has the right to ask others not to demonstrate on something they believe in because it offends them or because it scares them.

I can't believe you think this is about being "offended."

This is about having your very existence threatened, orchestrated by people who know exactly what they are doing.

It is possible/likely that many of the "peace marchers" are blithely unaware of this, but they need to wake up and get a grip.

So ironic that so many of them think they are somehow "fighting fascism" when they are actively lending support to the greatest fascist threat now facing not just Jews, but Europe more generally.

Well in all videos of clearly malnourished and starving hostages their captors looked incredibly well fed, to the extent they could lose a stone and not be thin. So enforced starvation is clearly something they’re happy doing.. just not to themselves.

Oh give it up, I have shown you a video with zero AI of tens of thousands of Gazans and you’re still desperately reaching. These people are not starving.

I think even you are feeling a bit unsure about what the fuck has gone on at this point.

Yes, I know. But regardless of that, Or has lost 30-40% of his body weight and still doesn’t look like a famine victim.

With more aid going into Gaza recently, with clothes on, with people who have lost a lot of weight still not looking like a famine victim, can we say for sure that those people weren’t starved at any point?

and no one waits for a few mumsnetters to decide either

No but you would expect a famine stricken country to be visibly underweight. Why has this been perfectly reasonable for every other famine, yet this one is a different kind of famine where the vast majority look very well fed?

I wasn't claiming the images were AI ffs it was a general point about it.
