Gaza Flotilla - genuine peace activists or Hamas puppets?

TicklishMauveSquid · 27/09/2025 22:36

It has been reported that these activists have rejected the Italian government and the Vatican's proposal to unload any aid they are carrying in Cyprus, to be transferred peacefully to Gaza.

They seem intent on sailing into a legal blockade in a warzone as a direct provocation to Israel who will be forced to take control of 50 boats and the people on them.

They have made lots of unproven allegations that Israel has attacked their boats which may well be to precursor violent resistance in 'self defence'.

They could be carrying anything, including weapons.

There is quite compelling evidence of Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood connections to this so called humanitarian flotilla, which could be considered perverse in the extreme seeing as Hamas has caused the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Hundreds of Israeli boat owners are being encouraged to counter protest in Navy approved zones (without interfering) as a presence 'a blue and white wall for the hostages'.

What do we think the outcome of this will be with Italian and Spanish Navy vessels in the mix?

This is quite a different situation than the ONE boat in the earlier failed attempt to breach the blockade this year where the 'activists' were peacefully appeased with sandwiches and sent on their way (after refusing to watch footage of Oct 7th).

A campaign of so-called “peaceful solidarity” reveals disturbing ties to designated terrorist organizations.

@CrossCheckingwhose fault is that seriously? This has been a long term problem for years.
I have no issue with there being a regime change. There is lots of infighting in Gaza and dominant families as well as Hamas and Islamic Jihad. We have an overall simplistic view of ‘Hamas’ and what goes on.

I have seen the trucks go over the crossings. The drivers are terrified and if someone is pointing a gun at you do you ask what terror group they are from? Israel want Hamas out. I can see why they do things like that…. If it indeed happens.

Whose fault is it that Israel are giving guns, cars and aid to the militia? Not the starving people of Gaza that's for sure.

While Israel and their online defenders were screeching about aid been stolen by Hamas this militia that Israel have helped form were "the most influential stakeholders behind the systematic and massive looting of convoys". Then Israel stop all aid because apparently Hamas were stealing it all, Greta and Co set sail for Gaza and get hateful abuse from the very same Israel supporters that helped spin the lie that Hamas were stealing the aid and now this militia are living the life of luxury whilst people starve around them.

So to answer your question I would say it's Israel and their supporters fault. Together they've helped them steal aid, they spun and spread lies to stop aid from getting into Gaza to up the value of the aid and therefore the influence of this Israeli supported militia.

I believe Irael offered to take and distribute the aid. They refused

Israel offered to distribute the aid to who? The militia?

Greta Thunberg is an indolent, spoiled narcissistic no account who has never been put in her place.
It takes a certain cluster B personality type to centre themselves in a fucking war, knowing that their actions are a project in futility in a war where the losing side cannot say that there is a lack of focused attention on their plight, even if the plights of all others in war that their side did not even start and are suffering far more and far longer than Gazans, go ignored.

Somebody needs to tell her Radical Chic arse to get a job where she will have it drilled into her that she , like everybody else, ain't shit, but to some of the people that know her personally, most who will put their children before her, if it came to it.

I bet she doom scrolls about Gaza, but the indolent wretch refused to watch the Hamas and " non Hamas" Gazan filmed videos of their zealous and gleeful rape , murder and kidnap spree of 7/10/23.
Which the majority of Pro Palestinians minimised and still do as if to convince themselves and bystanders that in THIS war, Hamas and Gazans are not the Offense side , but the Defense side .
Roundly losing in a war that the Offense started does not turn the Offense into the Defence.
Japan did not turn from Axis to Ally because she got two atom bombs dropped on her.
Germany did not become the Defense because Russian soldiers from the Eastern Front raped and pillaged up to and including Berlin in conclusion to the Eastern Front falling to the Allies.
Britain turning Dresden into dust, in defence was not a genocide.

The political illiteracy of the average Pro Palestinian can only intimidate/ enthrall a certain type educated past their intelligence.

Information that the holder refuses to turn into knowledge lest it get in the way of their circularity is a dangerous thing.

Palestinians have lumbered themselves with a surplus of this type of ally, to no avail and with no filtering for decades.
And now they have Greta.....

Love it ... now they have Greta who refuses a quick deportation and then complains the seats are too hard in prison and she has a rash.

The level of bile with which some posters on here attack Greta Thunberg is shocking. There are 500 members of the flotilla. This fixation on a young 22 year old autistic woman is really unhealthy and the name calling is the nastiest I’ve read on Mumsnet. Really horrible. Anyone would think she had committed a genocide.

She has appointed herself as the mascot.

If she didn’t want this to happen she maybe should’ve chosen an experienced and unknown aid worker, but nooooo. She has used her profile to do something silly, dangerous and that jeopardises the fragile peace talks that Gazans so desperately want to work.

I don’t care

She is the figurehead so will naturally attract the most attention as well as being used as a shorthand to describe the flotilla and people on it.

I think some are disappointed because she seemed principled as an environmentalist but now looks more like your generic self-important rabble-rouser.

I think you are getting a bit more aerated on her behalf than is really necessary, she is bound to attract criticism, much of which is perfectly justifiable although you may not agree with it.

CrossChecking · 05/10/2025 15:32

That doesn't say who they are going to deliver it to.

Ellen2shoes · 05/10/2025 15:35

Repeatedly personally attacking one member of the flotilla who is peaceful and well meaning, figurehead or not, is just nasty. If this was the aim of the thread, why not make it clear on the initial post?

Is she peaceful? Her social media is awash with distasteful and incendiary comments about Jews that she does nothing to fix, calling for the destruction and mass deportations from the only Jewish country in the world. This is her ‘army’ and she’s happy to be at the helm.

Greta was filmed giggling and saying “fuck Germany … and fuck Israel” at a rally in December 2024.

I wouldn’t personally ever say “Fuck …” about a whole country full of individual people but that’s up to her.

She’s entitled to say that but if she can disrespect the whole of Israel and Germany, she has harsh opinions herself and is not afraid to voice them.

Ellen2shoes · 05/10/2025 15:58

She is 22 years old. She is autistic. This is mumsnet. Many of us have daughters her age, perhaps autistic daughters. I’ve read enough gritty fights here between posters but that’s different.

So? Despite being autistic she has far more money, privilege and platform than we ever will. She’s appointed herself as an activist. She’s an intelligent, astute woman. Being 22 and autistic doesn’t make her a child.

Well Greta was complaining about the food in prison so maybe she needs some 🤷🏼‍♀️

stomachamelon · 05/10/2025 17:45

@CrossCheckingleavibg Greta to one side I would assume the pope was pretty clear who the aid would go to?

stomachamelon · 05/10/2025 17:49

@Ellen2shoeskindly as a mum of children (now grown up) with autism I also know that it can lead to hyper focus and obsession. As a parent you advise them especially as if it puts them in harms way.
I hope her embassy is doing it all it can to persuade her to leave.

Did you not read the article Sharon? The GHF provide aid too and that goes to Netanyahus new militia. You know the militia responsible for massive looting, the looting Netanyahu and posters here blamed on Hamas, the reason Israel and posters here gave for starving innocent Palestinians?

Nevermind the fact that clearly Israel aren't very trust worthy are they, they played pro Israel posters here into defending mass starvation with their lies after all.

stomachamelon · 05/10/2025 19:56

@CrossCheckingare you saying Hamas never loot aid?
There are many reasons posters may be pro Israel that you haven’t covered!

I didn't say that but systemic looting by Hamas was the reason Israel gave for stopping all aid into Gaza in March. The UN said Hamas aren't systematically stealing aid and we're called liars, people said that they worked for Hamas, even the US government found that there was no evidence of Hamas benefitting from aid. It was Netanyahus militia who were stealing huge amounts of aid, obviously being connected to Netanyahu he knew this. It was an outright lie that Hamas were behind it used as an excuse to starve the population of Gaza.

There are many more reasons pro Israel posters defended the starvation of Gaza, what were they?

TakeMe2Insanity · 05/10/2025 20:11

Well they’ve distributed it to Israelis!

What does ' they played pro Israel posters here into defending mass starvation with their lies' mean? Sorry, I'm not following.

Oh I presumed you were confused because nowhere did I mention anything as being a reason people are pro Israel. So your post made no sense in the context of mine.
