I saw a few clips of this. It was completely bizarre, influencers wandering around a car park with aid in it saying see there is no famine in Gaza even though they aren't allowed to go outside of this car park and see anywhere that Palestinians actually are. It's propaganda only for the very stupid.

Its the idiot with his "if I was Israel I wouldn't provide matching socks to Gaza" dressed like GI Joe walking around a car park full of pallets.

Not much frothing about useful idiots and virtue signalling there.

Gloriia · 06/09/2025 10:35

'The BBC is especially pro Israel in its reporting I've noticed'

Confused

Particularly that very unbiased reporter Jeremy Bowen..

It's definitely propaganda for the extremely stupid, thankfully it's not working.

The Israeli government is worried hence the recent interviews Netanyahu has given to so called "MAGA influencers". I used quote marks as ordinary Republican voters are pushing back/rejecting the attempt to treat them as so stupid they'd actively accept Netanyahu's lies and temerity to try to associate ordinary Americans with the Israeli government's actions.

One of the influencers Brandon Tatum told Netanyahu how happy he is that his Christian congregation was only spit on once during their visit to Israel. 🫣

I'd like to see him on a serious current affairs programme, debating like a grown up, backing up his thoughts and being challenged by someone intelligent.

Using a premiere to garble 'it's just horrid what is happening in gaza!' than quickly saying smugly 'yes the film is great though' made him look like an absolute tit imo.

Many people appear to disagree with you. Are they all tits, too?

No-one who earned a place at Corpus Christi is unintelligent.

That is not what he said, btw.

Who is no doubt far better informed than you are.

You don’t like what he says so, of course, he’s “biased”. You aren’t at all, obviously 🙄

Twiglets1 · 06/09/2025 12:43

Let’s face it we’re all biased.

If you’re aware that other people are, also recognise your own.

Interesting read on BBC "bias".

www.mediareform.org.uk/blog/bbc-bias-gaza-asserson-report

Stripes56 · 06/09/2025 12:55

The articles I reed about in the BBC talk about concerns regarding lack of food in Gaza, destruction of hospitals and infrastructure in Gaza and large number of Palestinian deaths. Are these contentious ideas? I thought they were facts? The BBC also reports on what is going on in Israel.

Article about impact of lack of folic acid on newborns in the Telegraph- children are being born with deformities due to malnutrition:

www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/war-and-famine-fuel-rise-in-birth-defects-in-gaza/

Does this make the Telegraph biased?

Obviously some things are facts.

However, even with facts the media can be biased re what they choose to report & what they ignore.

Also our own bias means we find it easier to believe some facts and harder to believe others. I think we all have bias whether consciously or unconsciously.

We’re always saying on these threads, where’s the evidence? But then may not even believe that as we say the source is unreliable.

Twiglets1 · 06/09/2025 15:27

For example @Stripes56 lots of people say the Telegraph has a right wing bias so won’t believe much that comes from that source. Although I personally do consider them a fairly reliable source.

So we can accept that the articles on BBC are accurate as far as BBC can ascertain- but people feel that they are biased due to them choosing to report what is going on in Gaza? It is bizarre that people should object to this- unless they choose to ignore concerns of what is happening in Gaza.

I actually think most credible newspapers will NOT choose to publish articles with knowingly false information.

Oh I beg to differ. One can have the poshest education ever and still be thick as 2 short planks.

You don't garble a 'what's happened in gaza is horrid! but my film is lovely! Without looking like a buffoon.

In your opinion.

Many agree with you and many more feel completely different.

You can't make your opinion into a universal fact.

“Before I talk about the fluff and loveliness of our wonderful film, what’s about to happen in Gaza City is indefensible,”
“The international community must do more to bring it to an end.

What a "buffoon" indeed.

Yeah there's a live genocide happening in our time, what's this buffoon doing acknowledging it

We all know there is a conflict in Gaza. No one needs this attention seeking luvvie to virtue signal in his dickie bow whilst promoting his silly film. All so very jarring.

Gloriia · 07/09/2025 08:52

What next, the premiere of Paddington 4 <if there is one> he blurts 'up Ukraine!' or perhaps 'Putin is BAD'?

Pick your platform a bit more appropriately Hugh.

If he has said "free the hostages" would you condemn him too.

Rallentanda · 07/09/2025 13:18

Perfectly obvious that HB doesn't give a shit about looking like a luvvie, but has succeeded in getting people talking, which no doubt is the aim.

He's part of a benefit for Gaza that's happening at Wembley, looks like a brilliant line-up and everyone who is taking part despite no doubt some challenging conditions regarding their careers has my admiration.
