When people fear they maÿ not be alive in the morning, or at the end of the day, fear of pregnancy is not uppermost in their minds.

Can you really be so ignorant of the Human Condition? Or is it you don't consider Palestinians to be human?

Edited

Who are you addressing this to? Who on this thread has given any indication that they don't think Palestinians are human?

SharonEllis · 30/08/2025 15:47

I don't think its me who is derailing right now.

Hoppinggreen · 30/08/2025 15:48

SharonEllis · 30/08/2025 15:46

Who on earth would think it would be?

Anyone mentioning it

TooBigForMyBoots · 30/08/2025 15:49

Oh that was to you @SharonEllis and your utter nonsense about fear of pregnancy.

SharonEllis · 30/08/2025 15:49

Hoppinggreen · 30/08/2025 15:48

Anyone mentioning it

Noone mentioned the better legal rights for women in Israel being a comfort to women in Gaza.

Everexpanding · 30/08/2025 15:51

SharonEllis · 30/08/2025 15:45

Obviously.

Well please stop attempting to derail a thread which is looking at how possibly to help put an end to the situation they are in,
rest easy I don’t think you will find anyone on mumsnet who has any sympathy for rapists,

Ok well if all you are going to do is insult rather than engage with the issue in a grown up way I'll leave you to it.

I was answering your question! You asked me a question. I gave you a one word answer and that's derailing?

Mercurial123 · 30/08/2025 15:59

SharonEllis · 30/08/2025 15:20

I'm just answering points put to me. If someone had just responded to mids point saying something empathetic about women who are pregnant and don't want to be we wouldn't be here, would we? I said the reasons were nuanced up thread. Its you and others who just wanted to reduce a complicated issue to Israel bad/Palestinians good, as usual.

The irony. I don't recall you ever having a shred of sympathy for what the Palestinians are enduring.

TooBigForMyBoots · 30/08/2025 15:59

If anyone has anything to spare, they're raising funds for another unit. Every little bit helps women and children in Gaza.❤️

Then you haven't read my posts on this thread or others. But I don't think this thread is about me.

Could the end of this awful situation be Hamas surrendering?

Could the end of this awful situation be Hamas surrendering?

Yes, it would. But you'll get short shrift for suggesting it!

Or Israel realising committing a genocide is fucking unacceptable? Doubt that though as they show no shame whatsoever.

No it needs international intervention, but it seems no one has the balls.

Maybe if Netanyahu actually responded to Hamas accepting the ceasefire that might happen instead of just ignoring it so he can continue his plan to control Gaza and invade Gaza city.

But anyway I won't derail the thread because then we might be talking about them instead of those pregnant women.

I donate to the Gaza Infant Care Collective who support mothers and babies if anyone is looking for a charity in those area.

Could the end of this awful situation be Hamas surrendering?

Or it could be a ceasefire and peace talks.
Or, if the war is to continue, it could be a cessation of war crimes by Israel's government.

What is happening to pregnant and nursing mothers in Gaza is horrific and needs to end. They are not responsible for Hamas and they shouldn't be blamed for Hamas and they shouldn't be punished for Hamas.

Thanks for this, I’m probably being dim, but following the link I can’t see how to donate? I would really like to.

For those saying that Palestinian men can't control themselves. From the Jewish Women's Archive

"In addition to amenorrhea, the women of the Lodz ghetto developed a strong desire not to bear children in such a cruel and unstable world, according to Michal Unger. Due to this preference, birth rates in the ghetto were extremely low; only 2,306 babies were born in ghetto during its four-year existence"

Births take place during famine, war, genocide.

I'm not sure what your point is. Yes births take place in various situations. Your quote references women choosing not to get pregnant and bring childten into an awful situation. As we know many women have also chosen at other points in time.

Hamas, as the elected government of Gaza, are responsible for pregnant and nursing mothers in Gaza though aren’t they?

Not Israel.

Extraordinary that the OP makes absolutely no mention of Hamas in her posts on this thread IMO.
