Israel is a country at war and I know many will have links or family in that country so I think it appropriate to wish them safety in the coming days.

I hope Israel stops bombing other countries and ends the military occupation of Palestine.

hareclive · 15/06/2025 12:55

well this is observably not true, because my pro-palestinian/anti-israel posts on this thread, have been deleted

Have they? I’ll admit I DGAF about Palestine so probably would not have read it.
Big up to Israel for tackling the issue head on

I second the motion. Whenever Israel is attacked, be it by Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Iran and anyone else, the targets are always civilian. But we don't hear a peep from do gooders.

And to add to that: Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, and the only country in the Middle East where there is religious freedom, yet the country that is hated by all its neighbours.

Jew hatred runs deep in the Middle East.

Racism gets deleted

guess that was the usual racism then?

there is a body of people who have so dehumanised Palestinians that they can’t see their own racism

Same for Israelis/Jews.

It’s the whole conflict in a nutshell, isn’t it.

Until both sides and their supporters can recognise each other’s common humanity we will remain stuck.

You want Iran and its current regime to get their hands on nuclear weapons?

It’s not racism ffs, it’s the fact that Gaza is still run by terrorists that dngaf about their own people; bit like Starmer 🤷‍♀️😂

Pakoraplease · 15/06/2025 13:01

I wish peace and safety for the innocent citizens of both Israel and Iran. It's not the peoples' fault and they didn't ask for bombs to be rained down on them in either country.

I hope Islamic countries leave Israel the fuck alone so they don’t need to keep bombing people 🤷‍♀️

Yes.

In the UK we call out racism. Until it’s perpetrated by people other than white westerners. Then it’s fine, especially if it’s directed against Jews.

Really? They thought the murder, rape and kidnap of civilians (oh wait sorry, there are no Israeli civilians according to you) would make Israel back off?

it's not a both sides situation. Israel is an occupying nation. they have land, air and sea blockades around Palestine. they take Palestinian homes and land at will. they kidnap hundreds of Palestine including children every year and hold them without trial. Israel tries Palestine children in military court without representation. then when they are detained they are not allowed to have their families visit and they are sexually abused. would you be ok, living like that?

Do you believe all those advocating for Gaza have been there?

No, obviously not.

I dont understand the point you're trying to make, apologies.

The pp said that the general population of Israel believe they are God's chosen people and that they have a god given right to the land.

I was questioning how they know that given they haven't visited Israel.

Perhaps they'll answer soon although theyre caught up in a lot of questions now because their posts were really quite unusual....

You seem to be ignoring the shit Israel has had to endure since they declared themselves an independent state.
Its really not Israel’s fault that the Arab nations took issue with it

EdithStourton · 15/06/2025 13:05

@holysmokee
It’s tragic that it seems we, the whole world, hasn't learnt from history at all.
On the contrary, I think the Israelis have learned some very painful lessons from history.
If governments say they are going to kill, dispossess or drive out Jews, they often go on to do so (various programs, Nazi Germany, many Arab countries which once had thriving Jewish communities, Hamas pre 7th October). The Iranian regime is clear that it wishes to obliterate the Jewish state and has been trying to develop nuclear weapons for decades now. It has sponsored numerous terrorist proxies across the Middle East (including Hamas and iirc the Houthis in Yemen).

Israel has sought to neutralise that nuclear threat.

I don't want any civilians suffering and dying. I don't want countries going to war. However, when you are faced by organised armed groups that wish to wipe out your country, what are you going to do? Sit and wait for the bombs to fall?

Last night some Israelis were cheering on and chanting for the village to burn. This was because the Iranian missile struck a area in Israel where some Arabs reside. Jewish Israelis cheering on the death of Arab Israelis.

I don't have much hope for peace when this level of hatred exist.

I saw that there was a Jewish family that celebrated last night and was absolutely sickened. I saw it while sitting with my kids and grandmother in a tiny shelter, very afraid, while the missiles were coming, and it made me so much more upset
it made the news in Israel because it was so repulsive. If it was Gd forbid a normal thing to think or feel here (ie not extreme) it wouldn’t have been newsworthy.

hareclive I did not read your deleted posts, but what remains standing is bad enough. they are incapable of feeling empathy for anyone other than themselves I’m sorry you feel this way about us. It is categorically untrue but I do not think there is anything I can say that would change your mind on this. I hope you are one day able to see us as normal, caring human beings too.

You don’t understand or don’t want to?
Also they do have a right to the land since 1948 at least. It’s only the Arabs who took issue with it.

So arresting someone for throwing stones at car windscreens with the hope that the car will crash, killing or injuring the occupants, is morally equivalent to taking babies captive and then killing them.

Cool.

When people tell you who they are, believe them.

RIP Ariel and Kfir Bibas.

what 'shit' have Israel endured that justifies snatching Palestinian children from the street, their homes, school and trying them in a military court without legal representation, or even an interpreter. then not allowing visits from family and sexually abusing them?

Edited

Clearly Israel must want this given they have disrupted the Iranian/American nuclear disarmament talks by bombing them. Proving the need for them to have their own nuclear deterrent.

You know support for Hamas is illegal? There is no acceptable rationale for what happened on 7 October. It was illegal. It was racist and genocidal. To rationalise it or excuse it is completely unacceptable and only a racist would attempt to do so.
