To wish those in Israel safety in these coming times

Israel is a country at war and I know many will have links or family in that country so I think it appropriate to wish them safety in the coming days.

You questioned a poster for assumptions on Israel by saying the poster can’t have this option because they haven’t been there. Yet if anyone supports Palestine they are not asked if they’ve been there.

Why is it a surprise Cilla? Israel was given a safe haven and the Arab nations were given land too. It was the Arabs who kicked off about it in 1948.
How about letting them have the sanctuary they were afforded

Indeed. Given that Jews were violently evicted from their own lands (in the area of Palestine, gosh) and then violently evicted from anywhere they settled - for about the last 2,000 years. We had pogroms in England a 1000 years ago, and an obscure man called Adolf Hitler wanted to extirminate every Jew from the earth, in his "Final Solution."

Not just Israel, I hope for safety for everyone involved in the middle east conflict. Elsewhere too. I also hope we stay well out of it! Enough lives have been lost over the past few years. I believe WW2 was worth fighting but there it ends for me. Many Americans have not got over Vietnam! Thank goodness we didn't get dragged into that but it was still harrowing.
