Israel is a country at war and I know many will have links or family in that country so I think it appropriate to wish them safety in the coming days.

I hope this post also stays up and is not deleted so we can all bear witness.

Yes it's shocking isn't it. Unfortunately these views are shared by people on both sides we've all witnessed them, it is extremely distressing and sickening to realise some people care nothing about the lives of others and wish them death and suffering instead.

And remember it when people tell us noone has any problem with Israeli civilians.

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 15/06/2025 11:44

@hareclive does that apply to every civilian in every country who have been on the wrong side of history in war? What about Britain or the US? Japan? Germany?

ComeAsYouAreAsAFriend · 15/06/2025 11:46

I wish peace and safety to all innocent civilians caught up in this perpetual cycle of violence.

There is hate everywhere it is not unique to any one group of people. From what I have witnessed on these threads is that the majority of people are very mindful of making it clear that their issue is with Netanyahu his government and their actions.

Have we had someone come on here and wish suffering on all Palestinian civilians? I don't think so.

I'm obviously referring to the threads in general as I assumed your comment below was. Otherwise I have no idea who the people you are referring to are.

To add you assumed I was just talking about Gazans I wasn't.

CurlewKate · 15/06/2025 11:58

@mids2019Of course I do. Civilians, particularly women and children, are always the majority of victims in war. What were you expecting people to say?

Last night some Israelis were cheering on and chanting for the village to burn. This was because the Iranian missile struck a area in Israel where some Arabs reside. Jewish Israelis cheering on the death of Arab Israelis.

I don't have much hope for peace when this level of hatred exist.

allamberedover · 15/06/2025 12:03

Personally I wish everyone could enjoy peace and safety.
It seems strange to single out one country or state.

PaxAeterna · 15/06/2025 12:04

OP puts up a post that only sympathises with one side and posters firmly agree but are then horrified by another poster only sympathising with one side.

I’m not sure it makes sense.

I absolutely hope for the safety of all the ordinary people caught in the conflicts. I especially feel empathy with mothers comforting their children no matter where they are.

and before October 2023 I had no particular views at all of Israelis, except to think that they were caught in a very difficult position

Starting a thread hoping people are safe is hardly the same thing as actively wishing harm on people, calling a whole population soulless and demonic and saying that there are no innocent civilians, including presumably children.

And suddenly since then (presumably without actually living in the Middle East) you’ve managed to go from a neutral position to one of hate for an entire country of people, yet you are condemning people who actually live there for…the same thing?

You get lunatics and extremists in every country. Did you want everyone in Britain to suffer following the riots last summer? What about every single Russian following the invasion of Ukraine? What about the Americans who cheered on the wars following 9/11? Shall we just wipe all of Florida off the map?

The west will always back Israel over terrorists. Iran have always been dodgy and I can’t see many having sympathy for them.

missdeamenor · 15/06/2025 08:11

How does Israel cope with constant war? It's surrounded by hate and has known nothing but terror and war since its inception. Not much of a 'promised land': I just don't know how they survive.

If the US stopped funding it wouldn't survive

holysmokee · 15/06/2025 12:28

I think about the civilians, especially the children, in Palestine, Iran, Israel, Ukraine, Lebanon, Sudan and so many more daily. It’s tragic that it seems we, the whole world, hasn't learnt from history at all.

War, genocide, indiscriminate bombing, division- people only caring about people that they can relate to (religion, skin colour, ethnicity) and needless deaths continue and anyone that isn’t heartbroken for children everywhere right now isn’t a decent person.

The Israeli citizen who came here posted from her bomb shelter. You post was malicious.

You are now holding all Israelis collectively responsible And directing that at an individual. That is unacceptable.Judging by your attitude I think you actually have no idea what will solve this conflict.
