Conflict in the Middle East

The testimony of the Yazidi woman rescued from Gaza

I thought the atrocities of 7/10 were the worst thing I’d ever read about but her account of her treatment, particularly by ISIS, is beyond comprehension.

I only saw the headlines (I’m not usually one for content warnings but they were awful).

why is nobody talking about this? Why isn’t a board made up primarily of mothers talking about what she has described? Where is the condemnation?

OP posts:

I have already posted that link right at the top of the thread - but made it so the headline wasnt visible as it is pretty distressing to come across while scrolling.

Come on seriously, your response! It's really not necessary.

This is new. Its emerged. Hence talking about it.

Try reading before dismissing it.....

I have read it - I read it in the first hour that it was published. I then posted it at the top of this thread for others to read. I really can't figure out what your angle is here.

I know. As usual people didn't read and jumped in with various comments. Therefore I have reposted it.

Some posters might not be interested if it's not about gaza but they need not be so dismissive as if old news...

Maybe if they actually read rather than assumed....

No angle.

I was upset that

A) people are dismissive of it, they sound like they didn't read the OP link before commenting.

B) the usual derailing to gaza gaza gaza

Hence I reposted

There were talks about this about 6 years (?) ago too from some survivals so maybe some people, giving benefits of doubt, think old articles are being rolled out here to stir.

SharonEllis · 20/10/2024 09:25

@Toomanywars and I'm not really sure why you're saying its not about Gaza. There are two stories here, the horrifc treatment of Fawzia by Isis in the Yazidi genocide, and what her testimony reveals about Hamas & Gaza, both before & after 7/10. What its not about is Israel & the IDF.

Stir what?

A women was rescued, she shared horrific details.

There are indeed real life recounts of what these poor people went through. Why not talk about it on this thread about them.

What I mean is its not about the constant quips interjected in the posts. The poor treatment of those women deserves its own remembrance. Its horrific her story.

Where are they now?

Do you mean she? I think I read Fawzia is back in Iraq with her parents but I would hope her location is protected.

PLEASE can you stop posting that link. When you post a link you can cut the image to prevent that headline being visible. You can probably still edit it.

Toomanywars · 20/10/2024 09:46

Forced cannibalism is a new low. Or perhaps not.

FrenchBread · 20/10/2024 09:48

Utterly horrific and barbaric. The Yazidis are suffering genocide , a calculated and horrific plan to de humanise and exterminate them. No marches for these women WHY!

The unchallenged support for hamas on the marches and on social media post 07/10 is disgusting.
I wonder how those people who support them would feel if they read these stories.

I understand people want to protest against Israel's actions. This is a free country . To do so with no reference to the utter evil that is hamas and to never condemn them shows the true nature of the 'protest'.

hamas and isis and all those Islamic radical terrorists are vile and deranged. They want to do what they do to the Yazidi people to anyone who doesn't fit their narrative of the world. They want to do that to every free liberal woman man and child.

Pp thank you for the charity link i will donate. I hope this gets more and more coverage. Those poor poor women and their children. How can they every menatally recover from this.

Toomanywars · 20/10/2024 09:50

There are many horrendous stories coming from the actions of terrorists. Its factual. There are no graphic images shared as per hundreds of threads on here. It states a fact that a real woman shared. Should we pretend it didn't happen. Sanitise the actions of terrorists when some in the west refer to these animals as 'freedom fighters'. When young British girls go off to marry them and help them with their slaves. It's true. It happened. Maybe girls susceptible to grooming or romantic ideas about terrorists might think again if they know what these animals are capable of.

The article refers to 2700 yazidi still missing.

quantumbutterfly · 20/10/2024 10:03

The article refers to 2700 yazidi still missing.

There are thousands still missing.

The older article i linked to show some history to their original capture says they don't know how many women and girls were taken originally. Some killed themselves, some escaped, some died in other ways. There was a set plan to capture, rape and treat as slaves and have the women and girls give birth to ISIS babies. It was reported that Shamina Begin was one of the ISIS brides responsible for captured women.

ISIS and others like them are parasites, their evil knows no bounds or depths.

FrenchBread · 20/10/2024 10:30

It's so horrific and my real worry is they will see the support for them in the west as a green light to bring their caliphate to the world. If we do not rage against the destruction of the Yazidi people who will?

Do the people here who live freely and support them not understand what life is under hamas isis and their ilk? How can some liberal western thinkers not see they would be one of the first in the line of fire if hamas and isis get more power.

Edited

Maybe they don't care?

The Yazidis and ourselves are just unbelievers after all.

Indeed.

To add - support includes and in my view mainly takes the form of lack of vociferous condemnation from the left and middle.

kistanbul · 20/10/2024 10:34

This is awful but it’s not related to the marches in the UK. The matches are a protest against the UKs government’s support of Israel. Perhaps others remember differently, but I can only think of the women’s march after the shock election of Trump in the US which was about something other than UK government policy.

People don’t tend to march in favour of their governments’ policy. If the UK government was funding/arming/speaking out in favour of the actions of ISIS or hamas, people would march. The protests against arms sales to Saudi Arabia are a lot smaller than they should be though.
