One country taking on so many terrorist organisations.

Or is it so many terrorist organisations constantly attacking Israel.

So many hate filled terrorists. Why don't they ever focus on their own people and a better life for them. Are they all raving mad.

@herecomesautumn I don't think so. Palestinians, including children have been killed in their thousands before the war in Gaza. Israelis, a far fewer number, have also been killed. There was bloodshed long before this.

In most cases, on these threads, they are insulated & protected by the Western values that they so disdain. Queers for Palestine etc.

Who on these threads disdains western values, who supports Hamas and Hezbollah? If there's a specific poster you're accusing name them because your sweeping accusations are incorrect and pretty offensive

Honestly it's like turkeys voting for Christmas 🤷🏻‍♀️

I struggle to support a regime which won't allow gays to live in peace.

Women's rights are not good either

Issues reported facing women in the Occupied Palestinian territoryy* are gender based-discrimination , as well as violence which includes child marriage, intimate violence, sexual harassment, rape, denial of medical and legal resources, psychological abuse and risk of sexual exploitation and abuse

There are Queers for Palestine groups who attend marches. It makes no sense.

Maybe they are members of the LGBTQ+ community who are against children being slaughtered.

Queens for Palestine NOT Queens for Hamas

We have been over this ad nauseam on these threads, showing support and solidarity with people from Palestine currently suffering huge deaths, destruction and displacement is not supporting Hamas.

stormy4319trevor · 29/09/2024 22:17

@converseandjeans You are being very offensive to gay people.

You won't get much support for this thought process. I am concerned by the support from the west for extremist groups in the Middle East. Hamas & Hezbollah are terror organisations & they don't align at all with western values - they are anti-gay & treat women abysmally. So I am baffled that so many women support what they stand for.

Not a single person here has expressed support for Hamas or Hezbollah.

Remember the seizure of Palestine by Western powers at the end of WW1?
Remember the mandate of 1920?
Remember the reallocation of Palestine by the Allied powers at the Yalta Conference?
Remember the war of 1948?

Remember that for every Israeli death over this time there have been 10 Palestinian?

Why do you think that is...like really think about it??....It's because Hamas and Hezbollah don't care about the normal citizens of Gaza and Lebanon....they spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year ( money from Iran) on funding their leaders bunkers, tunnels and hotel rooms in Qatar, as well as all the weapons/ missiles/ rockets. They want to destabilise the region. Civilian casualties, especially now give them good press. And the left on the West fall for it. These groups are doing nothing but harm to normal people living in the ME.

Then look at Israel, who actually protects its citizens with the Iron Dome. Underground hospitals. Requiring all new houses to have a safe room etc...that is why there are fewer Israeli casualties!

Martymcfly24 · 29/09/2024 22:38

America funded a huge part of the Iron Dome. Palestine would not have access to those level of funds so it's not really a lack of caring.

converseandjeans · 29/09/2024 22:39

@stormy4319trevor

From Wikipedia so unsure how accurate it is. I don't believe I am disrespecting gay people - just pointing out that Palestinian culture does not accept them.

Homosexuality in the Palestinian territoriess* is considered a taboo subject; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQQ*) people experience persecution and violence.

How much American money does Israel spend each year?

You haven't addressed any of my other points?

They tend to throw them off roofs

Like most stéréotypes they're based in truth.

We have been over this ad nauseam on these threads,

Sorry I have not seen this discussed previously. So I have obviously missed this. However surely we should be looking to find a way to free Palestine from Hamas control & Lebanon from Hezbollah control? I'm pretty sure lots of Lebanese women would like to turn back the clock to when they could wear what they liked & go out & about when they want.

stormy4319trevor · 29/09/2024 22:46

@converseandjeans I think gay people understand that, firstly. there are gay people and allies in Palestine that need their support. Secondly, that humanity and principles are not transactional i.e. one stands up for one's beliefs without expecting something in return. To imply they are stupid to do so is offensive.

Edited

Palestine is not a country. But Hezbollah in Lebanon received upwards of 700 million dollars directly from Iran ast year. If they wanted to protect their citizens, they could.

MangeMonCochonnet · 29/09/2024 22:49

People like Owen Jones who would be willingly thrown from a roof to prove a point, utter fool.

Well, now it seems that Israel are single handily freeing the world from Islamic terrorists! But yes, I do think Britain and the US should be more vocally on their side. Beruit used to be the Paris of the ME!

Well they are supporting a country which will not accept their lifestyle - gays in Palestine seem to be seeking asylum in Israel. So I don't understand why they would support a country which would tolerate them being abused over a country where they could live in peace & free from harassment?

stormy4319trevor · 29/09/2024 23:14

It's not about supporting a country. It's about supporting ordinary, innocent people who are suffering greatly.

PinkStringofHearts · 29/09/2024 23:14

SunnyZebra · 29/09/2024 21:39

It’s utterly devastating that Hamas won’t agree to a ceasefire that would prevent any more Palestinian children suffering like this. Unsurprisingly though given that they’re funded by a regime that executes its own people.

Yes a ceasefire is desperately needed, it is just a great shame that that is what it will take for the IDF to hopefully stop sniping little boys and girls in the head. One can only hope that that would extend to the West Bank too where there have been some high profile killings of children who have also been shot in the head by the IDF.
