I see the old thread is sadly almost full. I wonder how many of these I will start? 😢

Really not sure what on earth I have done to warrant so many deleted posts but it’s clear who has reported all my posts . I’m just not all clear why . I, and my religion, have been insulted on these threads by the poster who is now complaining about me. There are different rules for different people operating on these threads. It is not helping anyone’s cause.

You could contact mn to ask why they were deleted. They are usually specific in their answers.

Anyway - it’s a great shame so many are silenced on these threads.

I think many stay away and stick to other threads. So many (purposeful?) misinterpretations from those who do it themselves frequently. It's probably not worth replying to them though. There are plenty of threads where individuals are more civil.

StupidFarang · 28/09/2024 14:03

@Limesodaagain
You know Mumsnet came on to the hostages thread to apologise for their biased moderation! Looks like the same person is working again now....
I didn't understnad why they'd come on to the hostages thread to apologise but now I understand that the threads are "them" and "us" rather than actually discussing the situation.

Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s popularity, which was battered after the Hamas attacks on 7 October, may have been boosted by his country’s military successes against Hezbollah, according to one opinion poll.
The snapshot survey, conducted for Israel’s Channel 12, indicated the Israeli PM's Likud party would win more seats than any other if a general election was held. He currently leads a fragile coalition of ultranationalist and ultra-Orthodox parties.
Respondents also favoured Netanyahu as prime minister over the centrist opposition leader, Yair Lapid - with 38% preferring him over his rival who has 27% support

Whilst the world is looking at Lebanon and Iran and Israel… there are still innocent civilians being killed in Gaza

Thanks for posting. That's horrendous. I saw some horrific videos being posted but I couldn't watch them because I can't bear to see more destroyed bodies of children, or traumatised and injured children. There's no excuse for what they're doing.

Thanks I am on not on twitter so couldn't open link. The onslaught goes on forever more it feels like. Link from bbc on it below. I will never accept that you can bomb and kill your way to peace and reconciliation.

Mourners pray next to the bodies of Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes, during their funeral, amid the Israel-Hamas conflict, in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, October 2, 2024.

Israeli strikes on southern Gaza kill 51, says Hamas-run health ministry

The reported strikes into Khan Younis come after Israel entered Lebanon and faced missiles from Iran.

It's absolutely heart breaking. It should have been stopped ages ago. 😢

I can't accept that you can bomb and kill your way to peace and reconciliation, either. Slaughtering children will NEVER achieve it. All it will bring is the opposite.

22 people killed including 13 children killed for one Hamas target. Definition of disproportionate

I don't believe that there was actually a Hamas figure there. They always use that excuse. They never provide proof. It's just a low effort attempt to cover up their crime of deliberately targeting children.

Truly obscene action on the part of the IDF.

It was also wrong on the part of that one Hamas fighter imo, who went there among the civilians and made so many innocents a co-target of the indiscriminately murderous IDF. ( He should have hidden himself anywhere else.)

Watching Sky News in Lebanon, now actual reporters can get in, the reality of how imprecise the IDF can be is clear.

Some excerpts from this article which is well worth reading.

‘To avenge 7 October, crimes of all kinds are condoned. But politicians should take note: the British public disagrees’

‘Two thirds of voters now have an unfavourable view of Israel, compared with 17% opting for favourable: a record low. Seven in 10 believe it likely that Israel has committed war crimes (just 8% dissent), while 54% believe an arrest warrant should be issued for Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes and crimes against humanity (with 15% dissenting).’

‘What exactly is Israel supposed to do to shake this? It has conducted the worst massacre of children in our time, from reported sniper shots to the heads of infants to butchering terrified families in their cars, and now it is clear it deliberately starved an entire population. It stands accused of raping maleand female detainees alike, while Save the Children condemns Israeli soldiers for sexually abusing Palestinian children in prisons. It has killed at least 885 healthcare workers, and left women having caesarians and children having amputations without anaesthetics. Its soldiers push Palestinian bodies from roofs in scenes reminiscent of Islamic State. Meanwhile, Israeli ministers, politicians, army officers, soldiers and journalists compete overbloodcurdling murderous and genocidal rhetoric.’

It is impossible for them.

More than a decade of Israeli restrictions on imports and travel mean disabled people in Gaza were living without treatment and equipment long before the first missiles fell. Over the past year, Israel’s humanitarian blockade has further stripped disabled civilians of what they need to survive, from assistive devices to medication and specialist food. Others have lost their mobility aids in the bombing and have no way to escape.

Gaza: Israeli Restrictions Harm People with Disabilities

Israel’s 13-year closure of the Gaza Strip along with neglect by Hamas authorities significantly encumber the day-to-day life of tens of thousands of Palestinians with disabilities.

BBC News reported on the spotter IDF girls at Nahal Oz on Oct 7, how their warnings of the impending attack were ignored, and how they were unprotected.

Nama Levy’s mother spoke. She and other parents would like answers as to how this could have happened. It is awful- Nama Levy had only been doing that job for two days. To think the girls taken that day are still captives a year later, it is horrific.
