Video showing Palestinian man strapped to front of jeep

Israeli army strapped wounded Palestinian to jeep

The Israeli military says the man was a suspect in a raid in the West Bank, but its forces violated protocol.

Israel has been murdering, torturing, raping, sexually abusing Palestinians for 70+ years under the guise of 'military strategy'. Government officials have said it is "for their own good". We should view this scene as an act of kindness 🙄

They were just trying to get him to hospital and tying an injured man to the front of an army jeep is just a totally normal way of doing that and not at all depraved and illegal under international law 🙄

Still no answers to my questions to those who say this is wrong when it happens in England but fine for Palestinians.

Liv999 · 23/06/2024 21:22

They very much are

Since when have they been on the proscribed list?

MissyB1 · 23/06/2024 22:02

ForKookyPoet · 23/06/2024 21:11

Except Israel are not terrorists.

They behave exactly like terrorists. I regard the IDF as being on the same level as Hamas or any other terrorist group, no difference.

War crimes are being committed every single day carried out in Israels name, Gaza is on the brink of impending famine, aid trucks not being allowed through, land unlawfully being stolen from Palestinians, etc etc etc all acts of terrorism from Israel what would you call it?

ForKookyPoet · 23/06/2024 22:17

You can view them however you like @MissyB1 . Until Israel are entered as proscribed terrorists, they are acting in self defence. What a shame the real terrorists didn't give any thought to issuing warnings before they decapitated a farm worker, while he was still alive. Never mind eh, what was his life worth?

More high school type naivety, with the usual soundbites.

No answers because it’s a stupid comparison. It’s hypothetical. It doesn’t ‘happen’ in England, and if it did it would be all around context of why did it happen.

Yes it doesn't happen in England. Great point. I wonder why that is.

Why is it OK when it happens in the West Bank to Palestinians?

Your opinion. Which is irrelevant as they aren’t terrorists, and Hamas are. You can think like that, but it doesn’t make it fact as Israel aren’t on the list 🤷‍♀️

@Livelovebehappy if they keep acting like they are won't be long, they've already been lumped in with the likes of Isis, Boko Haram etc as one of the worlds leading killers of innocent children, a proud day for Israel I'm sure

It doesn’t happen because we haven’t started a war with anyone. We’re not in conflict with another country, so why would it happen? There was fighting between two sides. A Palestinian was injured during that fighting. There were other Palestinians there who should have carried him to safety, and arranged for medical assistance - it’s been said there were ambulances there already, so why ask the IDF to arrange for medical care, when they could have sorted it themselves? Is it the job of the IDF when fighting to be responsible for the hospitalisation of the opposing sides casualties?

AhNowTed · 23/06/2024 22:59

@Livelovebehappy

You know this happened on the West Bank right?

During a "raid" in Jenin.

This isn't Gaza. Or Hamas.

If you can't be bothered to read the report, here is a few paragraphs.

The Israeli military has said its forces violated protocol by strapping a wounded Palestinian man to the front of their vehicle during a raid in the West Bank city of Jenin.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the incident after it was captured on video and shared on social media. An IDF statement said the man was wounded in an exchange of fire during the raid, in which he was a suspect.
The injured man's family said that when they asked for an ambulance, the army took him, strapped him to the bonnet of their jeep and drove off.

If only you could see that the deaths of the innocent children since 7th October are the responsibility of Hamas. They started the war by kidnapping, murdering, torturing young people - not for any cause, but just because that’s what terrorists do. They’ve been using their people as human shields, hiding in hospitals and highly populated areas, refusing to hand over the hostages, redirecting any aid meant for the Palestinians to themselves.

Scirocco · 23/06/2024 23:02

I do wonder why some people continue to try to find a way for this to have been ok.

An injured person was tied to the front of a vehicle and driven away like that. I wouldn't do that to anyone or any living creature.

It's cruel and inhumane, likely to exacerbate injuries, and unnecessary.

It's bad enough that even the IDF has issued a statement saying it wasn't ok. The fact that people continue to try to make excuses for it shows the extent of dehumanisation Palestinians face.

The raid was due to intelligence IDF received that there were terrorists there - very likely that the terrorists were Hamas. So yes, it is linked to the situation with Hamas.

Other posters are perfectly entitled to express different views - this is something in a democracy called a "debate" rather than an echo chamber.

Where have I said otherwise? Hamas is responsible for Oct 7th, Israel is responsible for every other atrocity carried out in its name since then, they are in no way the innocent party here, no difference in what Hamas has done to what the IDF are doing to innocent Palestinians every day of the week, moral army my arse..

AhNowTed · 23/06/2024 23:28

@Livelovebehappy

If only you could see that this didn't start on Oct 7th.

In the West Bank alone in 2023, Israel murdered 502 Palestinians, 120 of them children.

The deadliest year on record.

Israel bulldozes their homes, and stands by while violent settlers terrorise them and steal their land.

And this is before Oct 7th.

Do you expect them to smile sweetly and say you're welcome?

How do you think they also move wounded in combat
During any war including ww2.
It's also quicker to get help then ambulance sometimes
Making a molehill out of nothing and more IDF bashing

I have never seen this shown as a normal way to carry wounded people normally though. The Israeli army with all its resources including every kind of vehicle, must have a more suitable method.
