It appears Jews are not safe in the UK at all.

Can we seriously look at the impact of anti semitism now?

Police at the home of one of the men arrested over an alleged terror plot

Three in court over alleged plan to attack Jewish community

Three men are accused of planning a gun attack on the Jewish community in North-West England.

@Doveytail There is nothing disgusting about @TabithaTimeTurner statement

Mindless sheep is a very mild description

Why the hypocrisy?

We all wonder why common Germans didn’t speak up during the Holocaust.

It’s just a sustained effort to silence anyone who speaks about against Israel.

Thousands of Jews who have marched against this genocide , and have spoken up have also been labelled antisemitic!

LordPercyPercy · 16/05/2024 08:18

Could you not make Holocaust analogies on a thread about a terrorist threat against Jewish people?

YaMuvva · 16/05/2024 08:31

Doveytail · 16/05/2024 06:46

This is a disgusting statement.
Any form of hate crime is despicable, in the same breath calling people while are making a stand against genocide sheep is abhorrent.

Is it not meant to be never again for everyone?

It’s become apparent in the last few months that it isn’t unfortunately. We can call out antisemitism and the genocidal intent and actions of the Israeli regime at the same time.

Is it not meant to be never again for everyone?

Never again refers to the Holocaust
So no it doesn’t please dine appropriate an anti-hate movement with a group that don’t belong there.

We can call out antisemitism and the genocidal intent and actions of the Israeli regime at the same time.

Except you don’t. You come on a thread about a terrorist against Jewish people in the U.K. and the thing that upsets you the most is that someone used the word ‘sheep’ about protestors not the attempted annihilation of a minority group. You even appear to compare the two as being bad as each other!!

You need to look up the meaning of "holocaust inversion".

The only people being annihilated are the Palestinians at the moment.

What's your point?

By the way, did you google "holocaust inversion"? You might learn something and modify your own behaviour.

I've ticked 'genocide' on my bingo card.

Just checked off ‘universalization of the Holocaust’ on mine.

YaMuvva · 16/05/2024 08:54

We all wonder why common Germans didn’t speak up during the Holocaust.

Ironically, you think this is a ‘gotcha’ but actually it’s because progroms started in Europe about 20 years before WW2 when the Jews were blamed for the turmoil following the Russian Revolution. Thus began a 20 year campaign of once again blaming Jews for everything, telling people they were your enemy and they were out to get normal everyday people, using the media to drip feed anti-Semitic message and ignoring the rise in hate crimes because there was a silent agreement it was deserved. By the time 1930’s came round the Nazis had already built on 20 years of hate and propoganda so that when Jewish people were ordered into ghettos, people didn’t stop it happening - they stood by and cheered.

To compare ‘common people’ ignoring the murder of six million Jews following 20 years of propoganda to not joining in on a March, is absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable.

BTW you need to brush up on your history. Germany made up a relatively small number of the Jews murderer in the Holocaust

I doubt that.

But I find the pro-Palestinians who think they are Jewish allies because they support the Jews who agree with them (but no others) deeply troubling

mids2019 · 16/05/2024 06:45

At the end of the day there is no report of Jews committing or organising terrorist attacks against other ethnicities or religiions.

That really depends on whether you think extra judicial killing of innocent Palestinians in the West Bank as terrorism. Or the violence against Palestinians in the West Bank at the hands of Jewish settlers. This must terrify Palestinians in the West Bank. Imagine sending your child to school in the current hostile climate in the West Bank.

YaMuvva · 16/05/2024 08:57

Doveytail · 16/05/2024 08:44

That’s not true though is it, at all.
You are making grossly offensive statements about Jewish people and the Holocaust, on a thread about anti-Jewish terrorism and making it about Palestinians.

Well no because Israel is a government not a Jewish terrorist groups whose aims are steeped in Judaism (as a religion not a race) extremism.

Imagine sending your child to a Jewish school in the UK. Which is what this thread is about

I denounced anti semitism , calling people sheep for opposing the murder of thousands of children is not antisemitism though. The world antisemitism gets thrown about constantly.

Never again should apply to everybody , it’s not a phrase owned by any single community.

Saying “I denounce anti-semitism” then going on to make Holocaust comparison is not denouncing ant-semitism, in fact it’s perpetuating anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Never Again is a campaign started by Jewish people and it’s not just about the Holocaust but about the many atrocities and genocide and exiles Jewish people have faced and how we won’t let THE SAME PATTERN lead us down that path again.

To appropriate it for a group who are actually on the land that Jewish people have been exiled from (like it or not that is true, it may not have been in recent times but it is still true) is absolutely appropriating anti-Semitic movements.

Does it ever occur to them it’s because anti-semitism keeps happening? This is the Jewish equivalent of creepy men saying “God you can’t even say help to woman these days without being accused of being a sex offender”

YaMuvva · 16/05/2024 09:13

Right folks let’s not let this thread get curtailed from the very important OP against hate against Jewish people. We do not have the defend ourselves for calling out anti-semitism and microagressions

The only people being annihilated are the Palestinians at the moment.

As many people have pointed out Palestinians aren't the only ones being killed in the world atm, thousands are being killed in other conflicts (Yemen Sudan etc) including many Christians being driven out of their countries by Muslims but these people don't seem to want to protest about those conflicts - I wonder why? And that is before mentioning that noone knows how many of the Palestinians killed are actually Hamas.

I have a theory that maybe people DO care about Palestinians and it is the most talked about cause, support is already well mobilised and it’s easy to join in rather than be the person to start the awareness.

I also have a theory that in supporting Palestinians people get an opportunity to hate on a group that is renownedly hate the world over, and they can do it under the guise of “Oh but I’m so caring about this cause and if YOU don’t care like me you’re awful”.

I can’t tell which supporters fall into which camps these days.

Yes they aren’t the only people being killed , does that mean we just sit back and allow it?

Palestinians are not just Muslims.
The rate at which the murder and genocide is being conducted is unprecedented as quoted by Amnesty international and the UN, which is what makes it different to other conflicts.

My tax money is being used to fund this genocide I have right to protest - I don’t want my money being used to murder children.

I disagreed with the view that people protesting this genocide are sheep - or joining protests because they are antisemitic.
I have seen people from all walks of life at the protests including many Jews.

This doesn’t take away from the the fact that there has been a rise in antisemitism and Jews are feeling unsafe.

Why are you avoiding the issue? You have brought up the holocaust multiple times. Do you not realise how offensive it is?

There have been recent protests for Sudan actually.
