It appears Jews are not safe in the UK at all.

Can we seriously look at the impact of anti semitism now?

Police at the home of one of the men arrested over an alleged terror plot

Three in court over alleged plan to attack Jewish community

Three men are accused of planning a gun attack on the Jewish community in North-West England.

Well if it isn't, that's great! But I've been accused of being antisemitic many times for criticising the State of Israel and its actions in Palestine. To the point that I believe it must be! And yes, I'm fully versed on the definition of antisemitism.

If you're so well-versed in it then you'll already have known you were spreading lies. And if you're being accused of antisemitism so frequently, maybe take a look at what you're saying and how you're saying it. Plenty of people seem to be able to criticise Israel without being anti-Semitic, I'm not sure why you struggle so much?

You needed to be to get your attack in on Keir Starmer's wife.

How did I 'attack' her?

Ah there it is... yes I'm well versed... no, I'm not antisemitic... yes, I get accused often... no, that does not make me antisemitic!

Gosh, it might be the idea that Keir Starmer's Jewish wife would be happy that the antisemitic dictator Keir Starmer was weaponising antisemitism to rid the party of his Jewish political opponents because (insert Jewish tropes here).

Wow. Look at what you did there. Bravo!

It's what you did. Last night.

There what is, exactly? 🤔

Anyone who is well-versed in antisemitism knows that the definition doesn't include criticism of Israel. So by you yourself saying you're fully versed in it, it means you were purposely spreading lies about the definition of antisemitism earlier rather than doing so mistakenly. Why was that?

Hélène79 · 21/05/2024 07:27

On a thread about the Jewish community under threat its such a tell tale when people jump onto these threads to argue with, bait and goad away at Jews. Some even turn up to every similar thread to do this. Its like a sport And if we're super lucky we get an added slice of "look at those good Jews protesting, see there cant be antisemitism".

HelenHen · 21/05/2024 07:27

noblegiraffe · 21/05/2024 07:24

It's not! But way to detract from the thread, by putting my words together in a specific way to make me look bad.

I was not baiting or goading anyone. I have opinions, and I'm as entitled to them as you are. For you then to all jump on me, and pick apart my comments to turn them into different sentences.. it's really worrying

Yes, outrageous of me to put your words together and it making you look bad.

And then you come on this morning and start wittering about how antisemitism levels are over-inflated.

Honestly, if you can't say something without being offensive to Jewish people then maybe you just shouldn't talk about certain topics? Because the thing that is actually worrying is how you can say the stuff you're saying and yet see no problem with it even when the problems are pointed out to you

I’m not Jewish but I did find your posts concerning and confusing.
Are you saying that Starmer is antisemitic because he removed Jewish party members who were behaving in antisemitic ways?
Or are you saying he is not antisemitic enough because he has a wife who is Jewish and will use his money to fund Israel ?
Honestly - it all came across in a very peculiar way and I assume you spend too much time in very particular social media echo chambers so think these opinions are ok.

Limesodaagain · 21/05/2024 07:38

Back to the thread …
Jewish students at university are feeling particularly vulnerable. I feel for them .

You may not agree to the marches happening and you have every right to do so but your derogatory sweeping statement on the marchers is not a valid argument to explain why antisemitism is rising.
By the way, any form of racism is despicable and I sincerely hope these vile individuals are dealt with accordingly.

Free Palestine was a sign I saw in a car

Free it from what??

The consequences of its own actions?

What did the Palestinian people expect when they were celebrating the attack on Israel
Did they seriously expect no consequences.

I would like to know, when the October 7th attack was first heard of, how many Palestinian families packed up and ran for the borders leaving their neighbours to their celebrations.

Why should any innocent person have had to leave their home?

Humdingerydoo · 21/05/2024 07:50

@HelenHen still waiting for your explanation as to why you were purposely spreading an incorrect definition of antisemitism on a thread about antisemitism. What were you trying to achieve by doing so?

And you've been repeatedly told some of your opinions are both factually incorrect and incredibly offensive.

And that is why, mon amie, I stand by what I said.

It’s disgusting and the mindless sheep waving their flags every weekend about things they don’t understand are really not helping.

Absolutely

I'm still waiting all of your answers to points I've made. You've ignored every one. Should I go back and demand you respond to each?

Why so you speak like I have an agenda, and I'm not just a normal person with opinions? I find that really offensive, that you bully anyone with a counter argument and accuse them of having an agenda

Yalta · 21/05/2024 08:11

Why should any innocent person have had to leave their home?

The same reason my family fled mainland Europe as Hitler drove up the main road in the town being feted by their friends and neighbours

To save their own lives because the consequences weren’t going to be good if they had stayed

If there is something that needs answering then sure, go ahead and ask me again. I think it's pretty important to figure out why you're contributing to an increase in antisemitism by stirring up hatred by knowingly spreading misinformation.

It's not bullying to try and get an answer as to why you are knowingly spreading misinformation about antisemitism 😅

Humdingerydoo · 21/05/2024 08:14

I'm impressed with how you've made yourself into the victim here though. You spread misinformation and make some pretty outrageous comments but really, you're the victim here because people aren't willing to let it slide?

HelenHen · 21/05/2024 08:23

But you say the fact that they didn't flee makes it look bad for them. Most likely they didn't have anywhere to go. Are you saying they deserved it for staying? That's a really sad way of looking at it.

You could ask the displaced within Israel the same thing. Turns out the iron dome and household bomb shelters aren't enough against determined psychopaths.
Or are you suggesting that Israeli civilians aren't innocent?
