This. I consider their protest to be very relevant. What’s the point in history repeating something that it was agreed should never happen again?

@MissyB1 You are explicitly agreeing with a deleted anti-Semitic comment.

Vile. But tbh nothing surprises me about these apologists for terrorism. They lack so much self awareness that they really don't care about any offence caused, because their 'cause' is all that matters. The positive out of it is that a lot of people previously sympathetic to the palestinians are turning away. The tide is turning.

This

Scautish · 06/05/2024 15:51

I think the Israeli government and are appalling, immoral racists and murderers and are ethnically cleansing Palestine in the most awful way (both in Gaza and the West Bank)

however

i also think it is completely inappropriate to protest at this event. absolutely antisemitic.

but just as we should not state that the actions of the Israeli government and the IDF as representative of all Israelis, the appalling actions of these protesters should not be conflated with the legitimate protests against the current genocide taking place.

EmpressOfTheThread · 06/05/2024 15:53

To be fair, I don't think that anyone on this thread has done that, @Scautish .
It's shocked me, in all honesty, that anyone would target such an occasion.

blackcherryconserve · 06/05/2024 15:24

Shame on them. Let us commemorate our 6 million souls, including my grandmother 😢

Solidarity today and every day.

Scautish · 06/05/2024 15:58

@EmpressOfTheThread

the title of the read says “pro-Palestine activists”. I consider myself to be pro-Palestine however I do not condone these actions at all.

I think it would be better to say “antisemitic protesters stage Gaza protests”

whoever and whatever they are, these protesters are abhorrent.

EmpressOfTheThread · 06/05/2024 16:00

Well, you're probably right, @Scautish , however, they're positioning themselves as pro Palestinian, so I think that's why that's the thread title.

AbsoluteYawns · 06/05/2024 16:02

Absolutely disgusting behaviour and I am so upset someone upthread excused it!

Lovinglife57 · 06/05/2024 16:03

Absolutely disgusting behaviour they should be ashamed of themselves disgusting

This is so disgusting. I'm the granddaughter of a holocaust survivor. This makes me sick. How dare they.

Comedycook · 06/05/2024 16:20

The Holocaust was awful but

No need to add a "but" to this.

We are allowed to mourn, remember, commemorate and reflect on the holocaust without having current conflicts thrown in our face.

No, someone said they weren't Palestinian supporters. I was saying that they are positioning themselves as that, so they are.

Comedycook · 06/05/2024 16:35

This linking of the holocaust to the Israel/Gaza conflict is ugly. It's called holocaust inversion and it is absolutely anti semetic.

Lowlife, classless scum

A memorial to over a million innocent men, women and children and these virtue signalling, bandwagon jumping useful idiots think it is appropriate to demonstrate and chant there

Humanity has well and truly lost its way

This, what has the holocaust and the memorial of murder of all these people across Europe to do with current Government. Disgraceful.

Did someone have the disgusting thought to actually type that out?! the holocaust was awful but... to whoever did, you absolutely disgust and frighten me, people like you are why the Holocaust happened with your vile hate.

Dandel10n · 06/05/2024 16:40

How awful and yes, this is overt antisemitism. Sadly it doesn't surprise me any more; nor does the handful of apologists showing up on this thread.

Perzival · 06/05/2024 16:41

Horrific and disgusting.
