I think at best this inept policing at worst vile anti semitism.

I suppose it is now in the open that central London has become effectively a no go area for Jews given the potential for abuse from hate marchers.

Can't we just stop these marches so Jews can go about their business?

Of course, attacking embassies is wrong, and that includes Israel.

How is Netanyahu's corruption trial? He has his own interests for prolonging the genocide/war.

I have said this before but this thread has become completely derailed and the original thread and idea has become lost and resembles many other threads. I am quite new to posting but have actually seen this on a lot of the CITME threads and would welcome being able to to read threads which relate to the specific title.

Threads do get derailed into people's favourite topic which is how terrible Israel is.

Hi all - as this thread is straying from the original discussion, can posters please refrain from derailing? We appreciate that many threads move on organically but it's clear from where we sit that the majority of posters on this thread would prefer to discuss the issues raised by the OP.

It's a little ironic as YOU were the one discussing bombing embassies. I responded.

Forcing a segue into how corrupt Netanyahu is isn't a response to a discussion about Iran bombing an embassy. It's blatantly obvious what you were doing and it happens all over this section.

I'm very happy to return the conversation to Gideon Falter being called a Nazi and scum on the streets of London and how the police pointed out that being visibly Jewish would be provocative and they couldn't guarantee his safety. I don't think it's inept policing on their part so much as inconvenient honesty.

No I didn't.

People talk about the policing on the London marches being inept and turning a blind eye to offensive behaviour on the part of the protestors, but having seen what's going on the US, I think things could be far worse on both sides.

Today's protests seem to be going fairly smoothly.

@LiterallyOnFire You said you would provide evidence? It's a very strong allegation, so requires evidence if we're going to make such claims.

Good. That makes a pleasant change to the time when the police officer argued that whether a swastika was offensive depended on the context.

I hope they have had more training and clearer instructions about this sort of thing.

Gideon Falter exposed the fact that there IS anti-semitism on these marches ('nazi' 'scum').

Following threats, today's march against anti- semitism has been cancelled, as the police warned they can't guarantee safety.

So, every Saturday, in 2024, London is a no-go area for Jewish people.

I can't believe what I'm seeing- the blatant anti-semitism on show since Oct 7th. I'm not Jewish, but I'm sorry to say I'd be very feeling scared if I was.

Disrespectful to a hamas leader. Hamas leaders don't deserve ANY respect.

CAA cancelled their march today. They were unable to provide the police with a planned route or a guarantee that they would not try to cross the main march.

I think ultimately a foreign war should not make any members of UK society uncomfortable. I think the point of highlighting the police response in the op was to show that wearing Jewish insignia currently can bring on abuse. I feel this is unacceptable.

No matter what your thoughts on the middle east there can be no reason for attempting to make the Jewish community feel like pariahs. The continued mass protests have led to a mob mentality where anti semitism is an acceptable cost of a war protest

Now for the face coverings. Why do people need to cover their faces, is it because of the things they want to do and say? Hide away so not arrested later?

I couldn't find any real corroboration for the idea that it was seriously in dispute. Apart from the general irrational trolling from the extreme left. Plenty of witnesses, including among the recovery teams (sorry I can't for the moment remember the squad name - very impressive group of people - and pacifists like so many of the kinbutznikim).

So I dismissed that as trolling, TBH.
