A pregnant woman died during the recent attack on the refugee camp. An emergency c-section was performed to save the unborn child, but unfortunately she also died.

Unspeakable suffering, the cruelty goes on, their lives are worth nothing to some

ScrollingLeaves · 10/06/2024 12:08

Perhaps those with military interests who come on these threads, some saying ‘War is war’, might be interested in the views of a real Israeli military expert, Brigadier General Yitzhak Brik, who predicted Israel was not prepared for a possible attack - who
thinks Israel’s current military trajectory is disastrous.

Leaving aside concern for Palestinian civilians, anyone concerned for Israelis themselves might like to see how this war, the course of which has destroyed Gaza and so many Palestinian lives, is harmful for Israel too.

This article Brigadier Yotzhak Brik has written June 7 in The Jerusalem Post is well worth reading.

This is the headline:

The Gaza war cabinet denies responsibility and leads the State of Israel into the abyss. Israel must dismantle the war cabinet before it destroys the country.

Here are some excerpts (it would be too long to paste the whole article).

Unfortunately, the failure brought upon the people of Israel and their continued fight without consideration or rational thought is leading to the eventual collapse of the country. They must be stopped. They are leading the people of Israel like sheep to the slaughter. The country's salvation is not their priority but rather the salvation of themselves and their survival in power

Recently, the IDF entered Rafah, and everything I predicted is now happening. We are losing control of the world's nations in a way we have never known, including our relations with Egypt. We may end up severing ties with them and also facing the Egyptian army as our enemies. The entire nation needs to stop the destruction and immediately distance themselves from these warmongers who are leading us astray

The army needs to be immediately restored and prepared to deal with future regional warfare, including one that escalates in intensity by thousands compared to the conflict in Gaza, posing a real threat to the existence of the State of Israel. A ceasefire will enable the recovery of Israel's struggling economy, international relations, and societal hardships, as well as the release of captives by mutual agreement.

Why is all this not happening now? The war cabinet has completely lost its judgment, leading us into the abyss. The Israeli people need to come together to stop them before it's too late. I am convinced that if this group continues to manage the war, in some time, all citizens will realize the magnitude of the country's crisis in all areas, but by then, it will already be too late.

The only solution left in the situation we have reached due to the sinful recklessness of the state and military cabinet members is for Israel to declare a ceasefire, immediately restore the army, economy, international relations, and social resilience, and reach an agreement to release our captives imprisoned in the darkness and shadow of death in Hamas tunnels.

The current war cabinet is leading the people of Israel into the abyss - opinion

Monstrous behaviour on the part of the I.D.F. They also sent the surveillance young women soldiers ( whose warnings they had ignored), who had survived massacre or capture Oct 7, back to the same posts regardless of their state of trauma.

I am going to be a bit pedantic on the headline, because language matters. "committing suicide" is not widely used anymore because it goes back to a time when suicide was considered a sin or a crime. It is better to say "died by suicide". In saying all that maybe the wording in the headline was intentional because it is demonstrating how the IDF view that poor soldiers death i.e. as a crime/sin. Shame on them

Re the soldier’s tragic suicide:

This is an article by the American Jewish journalist, Dan Cohen, saying that the Israeli army is in a precarious state.

Eight months into the Gaza war, a depleted Israeli military is on the brink of “collapse”
As the Israeli army faces severe personnel shortages, fatigue and desertion, and the political leadership focus on their survival, a top Israeli general predicts the end of Israel is near.

First two paragraphs:

On October 9, two days after the surprise Hamas military assault on Israeli bases and settlements surrounding Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to defeat Hamas.

However, eight months later, Israel has failed to achieve its stated goal. Instead, it is facing unprecedented international isolation, political instability, charges of genocide at the top world court, and arrest warrants for its leadership. With no end in sight as Netanyahu rejects ceasefire proposals, the Israeli military is now facing its most dire challenge yet: Personnel shortages, fatigue and desertion.

Thanks for these @ScrollingLeaves

I wondered if the vulnerable sick would be allowed out for treatment - that article answers my question. :-(
I suspect Fidaa will not be counted in the war statistics, any more than the people who need kidney dialysis, heart treatment or diabetic therapy.

Has anyone confirmed if the USA does have boots on the ground and that they actually used an aid truck in the latest disaster?*

*An operation implies there was planning to avoid casualties.

And they say they're allowing humanitarian aid in.

What an abomination.

Why have you copy and pasted a post from another user @Humdingerydoo who posted on a different thread regarding the rape of Israeli hostages? It comes across as mockery. Very distasteful.

Not at all. I thought she made a great point, we should all condemn what happened on Oct 7 and to the hostages and we should all equally condemn what has happened to Palestinians since and those who don't should take a look at themselves 👍

That it’s stealing. Perfect giving the money to those affected from 7-10 but give it from your money and not from

@EasterIssland I agree. It is stealing. If ever there is a permanent ceasefire, I do hope Israel will pay to rebuild Gaza and not take it for themselves.

www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/smotrich-says-he-transferred-35-million-in-pa-funds-to-terror-victims/

Re withheld Palestinian money:
In a statement, Smotrich said that the withheld money would be transferred to Israeli families whose members were killed in Palestinian attacks.

My thought on this is that in that case Israel should also transfer Israeli money to families whose members were killed in Israeli strikes and they should not need to use it to rebuild houses. Think of all the orphans. Families in the West bank will also be owed money for killed family members.

Good news reported by Haaretz ( Israeli newspaper):

ISRAEL: Eliran Mizrahi, the reservist who was diagnosed with PTSD and killed himself after receiving an emergency call-up order to serve, was laid to rest in a military funeral after the IDF revoked its initial decision and decided to acknowledge him as a fallen soldier.

‘National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has sought to repeatedly interfere in operational police matters in recent months, a letter by outgoing Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai to Attorney General Gali Baharav Miara reveals.

According to the letter from May 27, Ben Gvir told senior police officials behind Shabtai’s back that he did not want police providing protection for humanitarian aid convoys crossing through Israel from attack by Israeli extremists.
