The double standards people have are appalling. To look the other way when some people suffer. We should condemn all suffering, all crimes, all murders and tortures. But some people have lost their humanity.

Some people even use this board for their own sick entertainment. Having a laugh at the pain of others.

I know. It says a lot about what type of people they are. I wonder how they behave away from the anonymity of the keyboard. Are they the type of people who would help if they saw you in need of it? Would they walk away?

People on twitter saying 150 people killed? Does anyone have any verified information on what happened and how many people were killed and injured? I can't find anything.

EasterIssland · 08/06/2024 15:52

Reading rumours about US troops might have taken part on the release of hostages ?

It's such a stark example of some lives being worth more than others. It's hard to imagine a situation in the West where we would kill so many people including women and children to save 4 people then loudly celebrate it as a win. It's a dreadful situation, negotiation needs to used and should have been used a long time ago. Killing children shouldn't be on the table as an option.

Scirocco · 08/06/2024 13:55

Innocent people, including children, have been killed and injured in Nuseirat. While the world cheers and celebrates the reunion of some innocent people, it forgets or ignores those families torn apart forever in the process.

I have just been reading about Nuseirat. It is dreadful. It seems that because Israeli special forces were going in to rescue the hostages, they bombarded everything else around indiscriminately.

Was that really necessary for military reasons? (Asking.)

Only the rescue will stand out in people’s minds though, while the tragic Palestinian deaths will be forgotten.

EasterIssland · 08/06/2024 16:12

Exactly my thoughts. We could all be celebrating the release of the hostages (this 4 + those still captured) long time ago and at the same time knowing no Palestinians had been killed in this release if Israel had agreed to the multiple ceasefire options there has been in the past.

Congrats Biden. Good job

Efacsen · 08/06/2024 16:15

IIRC something similar happened when 2 hostages were rescued from Rafah sometime ago ?100 casualties as a 'distraction' whilst the rescue was in progress

Yup, it's fantastic that 4 innocent people get to go home but by the sounds of it many innocent people will never get to go home after this 'rescue' mission. It doesn't feel right to celebrate in these circumstances, the children killed are just as innocent and important as the hostages but they are not even deemed worthy of a mention in some news articles and certainly not by those loudly celebrating. This could have and should have been done via negotiation not the blood of the innocent.

EasterIssland · 08/06/2024 16:18

Also reading that the port that the us have built for providing aid and that has been broken for a long time and barely no aid has Gone through is the one that the hostages have been evacuated from

There's no mention of what appears to be a huge number of dead Palestinians on the thread celebrating the release of the 4 hostages.

More info about this and the US troops

What happened in Al-Nuseirat?

  • An American force used an aid truck. The aid truck came from the American pier to Al-Nuseirat camp... (video and photo of truck)
  • A clash erupted with the American force once it was discovered.
  • Airstrikes were conducted on the Al-Nuseirat market, which was full of civilians, to create a path for the “rescue vehicle.”

This resulted in the massacre of over 150 civilians who were at the market.

  • The force headed back to where it came from, the American pier, while the warplanes bombed everything in its path.

Was just coming to post this, too. Generals from the region had been saying for weeks that American troops were on the ground, this seems to confirm it. I guess it makes the pier a legitimate target now as 250 people were killed.

ConnieCounter · 08/06/2024 17:07

A fucking AID TRUCK....

These people behind this are hypocrites of the highest order.

In this life, they will receive medals. I hope they enjoy them, because at some point they will have to account for their actions.

Has this been verified? If it has, well I have no words.

Here is a tweet by an Axios reported who confirms that a US official told him that the American Hostage team aided in the rescue.

I believe there is always a price to pay @Scirocco and that theirs will come one day, in some form.

Scirocco · 08/06/2024 17:45

If the US is on the ground, the UK will almost certainly be there too. Our taxes fund the murder of innocents yet again.

The UK and French. The UK RAF provides targeting information due to Hezbollah taking out a lot of the IDFs monitoring infrastructure (they've been degrading military sites used for spying since October).

Dulra · 08/06/2024 18:21

I have been working all day, just catching up now. I think it is tone deaf to celebrate the rescue of 4 innocent lives knowing so many other innocent people lost their lives in the operation. Of course be relieved that 4 lives have been saved but spare a thought for those that died. It is rubbing salt in very deep wounds that have seen unimaginable horror, death and destruction. There are no winners today when the suffering continues for so many.

Biden is a disgrace and a liar
