Are you kidding me?

Al Jazeera is sponsored by Qatar that gives refuge to the main movers in Hamas.

I wouldn't believe Al Jezeera if they said the earth went around the sun.

In my opinion the best approach is to look at a number of news sources including Al Jazeera so as to build up a picture of the truth.

Also if there the films of scenes from Gaza being shown on Al Jazeera that also contributes to an idea.

Maybe if Israel did not prevent foreign journalists from being present, and kill Gazan journalists who are, it would be easier.

Al Jazeera can also be a good source for news stories around the world not covered by U.K. news.

Which is what the earth does.

I can’t help but think this suggests you are willing to deny a reality if the “wrong” person tells you about it.

The IDF have responded quite quickly to the report this time saying they will look into it,
The scenes are quite horrific and it's being reported on more widely now on other news outlets

anotherlevel · 29/02/2024 10:41

@OneMerryRedSnail absolutely shocking. Who do you think is shooting them? It definitely can't be the IDF, it's not like they have history of this behaviour or anything.

And also, do you know how different media reports events differently with their words? You can clearly see the images of what's happened but yet it's "apparently an incident" 🙄 I guess the eyes only see what the eyes want to see

Efacsen · 29/02/2024 10:53

@OneMerryRedSnail AP correspondents in Gaza City also reporting the same information as Al Jazeera

Also there was an AP journalist at the hospital when the deceased were being counted

Yet another way Israel is hobbling the aid effort

Humanitarian Workers face deportation from Israel after freeze on visas

Israel has stopped issuing visas for international staff of humanitarian organisations that work in occupied Palestinian territories, hampering efforts to get food and other vital supplies into Gaza.

Dozens of foreign aid workers, including heads of organisations, have had to leave Israel and the Palestinian territories, or are overstaying their visas and risking deportation so they can continue working, an alliance of aid groups has warned.

Emergency response teams, who have the specialist experience to deal with the multiple challenges of working in Gaza, are particularly affected

They will starve the people of Gaza by any means possible, meanwhile our government will continue to argue over the wording of motions calling for a ceasefire.

It's vitally important we remember two things:

Cross party agreement on a ceasefire is not possible unless the wording includes condemnation of Hamas despite the fact the UK listed Hamas as a terrorist organisation in 2001. Obviously when we add terrorist organisations to the proscribed terrorist list what we really mean is we fully support them until we say otherwise. FFS

Israel is not an occupying force in Gaza, their control over visas for aid workers is just the Israeli government helping Gaza out with admin. Again FFS.

Efacsen · 29/02/2024 11:34

It doesn't take an Einstein to work out who was doing the shooting 🙄

Why so quickly resort to this sort of personalised hostility and silly emoticons?

PS Hamas are back in Northern Gaza and Gaza City despite the IDF claiming to have got rid of them weeks/months ago

IDF have also been back in both areas for another go for quite a while now

Still no link to Hamas carrying out this atrocity and you know if there was it would almost certainly be reported by Al Jazeera - how would you feel about that? Would you discount it?

Parkingt111 · 29/02/2024 11:40

@OneMerryRedSnail IDF have now said they DID fire at the crowd because they felt endangered as people surged violently for the aid, and they are also looking into a separate incident of a strike.

Parkingt111 · 29/02/2024 11:41

@OneMerryRedSnail not sure what all the Einstein business is about. The IDF are still in Gaza city

OneMerryRedSnail · 29/02/2024 11:41

@Efacsen "Still no link to Hamas carrying out this atrocity and you know if there was it would almost certainly be reported by Al Jazeera "

Really? From the mouthpiece of Hamas you must be jossing me 😂

Still no proof the IDF did it.

Where is that reported?

OneMerryRedSnail · 29/02/2024 11:41

Where is that reported?

It is reported in the The Times of Israel
www.timesofisrael.com/

AP reported
RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — A strike early Thursday on a crowd of Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid in Gaza City killed at least 70 people, bringing the death toll since the start of the Israel-Hamas war to more than 30,000, health officials said.

This is the reality of what Israeli is doing.
Parkingt111 · 29/02/2024 11:49

Maybe more scared reservists who killed dozens of civilians who are desperate for food because of the imposed starvation

OneMerryRedSnail · 29/02/2024 11:49

Ah-ha,
So the Israeli forces were trying to distribute Aid and were attacked by looters.

Self-defence.

You appear to be missing the point

There are virtually no independent journalists in Gaza as explained above

If Hamas were the culprit it would most likely be reported by Al Jazeera who are still there

So would you believe Hamas were responsible if it was only reported by AJ?

Or would you discount it because you don't approve of AJ?

OneMerryRedSnail · 29/02/2024 11:51

@Efacsen " There are virtually no independent journalists in Gaza as explained above"

So the likelihood of unbiased news seems to be zilch. No surprise there.

Certainly makes it tricky

Guess that's why Israel have designed it this way

Starving people are there in Gaza OneMerryRedSnail.

Literally starving to death.

I'm just a lurker but it is actually getting quite distressing now watching posters continually blame starving, desperate, traumatised people for their own deaths.
