maybe they did, but you and only you are responsible for your actions

@Auvergne63 ain't that the truth. Why rape, murder and destroy? Why people civilians hostage?

@Dulra "I genuinely could not name another Western nation that would allow such hate to be broadcast. "

So you count Israel as a "Western Nation"?

I'd count them as Middle Eastern myself.

I personally think of Israel of being at least partly a Western nation because of the number of Israelis who also have links to the USA and Europe, maybe even joint citizenship with those countries, and also roots in Russia ( Western?).

Another factor influencing my perception is the huge investment in Israel from the USA.

Apologies I should have said democratic developed country, the type of country Israel always prides itself on being. It has been mentioned many times on here that they are the only country in the middle east that has equal rights for the LGBTQI community. That means nothing when your government and broadcaster allow such hate to be spoken about another race of people

This is indefensible as much as what the IDF are doing now. I hope you can see that. I certainly do.

True plus they are also part of the eurovision song contest 🤔

ScrollingLeaves · 12/02/2024 09:24

ThatUsernameIsTaken · 12/02/2024 00:24

Where is that from I wonder? Is it a verified link to a TV chat show?

If so, if that were here, even if they were talking about an enemy, there would be a complete outcry. Those men are obscene and are letting all Israelis down.

I hope it can be stopped and I hope no one will forget.

I sure won't. 🤬

So's Azerbaijan which is divided partially between Eastern Europe and Western Asia. 🤔

Not sure what point you are trying to make? I did respond to you already correcting the term I used.

Israel joined the Eurovision in 1973 because it was part of the European broadcasting union. Terrible to see what they are allowing be broadcast now

Dulra · 12/02/2024 09:43

stomachameleon · 12/02/2024 08:33

Two hostages found in rafah.

Fantastic news to see two souls saved.

Unfortunately 67 other souls lost their lives last night in Rafah may they rest in peace

Blackkittypoo · 12/02/2024 09:47

@Dulra "Not sure what point you are trying to make? "

That being in the Eurovision song contest doesn't automatically put you in Europe !

Azebijan is at least half-way there.

stomachameleon · 12/02/2024 09:52

@Dulra

This is the reality of what Israeli is doing.

Snowypeak · 12/02/2024 10:05

Is the above description what really really happened?

PeasfullPerson · 12/02/2024 10:09

I am pleased that two of the hostages are free to live their lives and be returned to their families. They should never have been taken, it was never the right thing to do.
I am sorry for all the other people who were killed last night. I’ve seen a picture of a dead child wrapped in a white sheet this morning. This is never OK, it is never the right thing to do.

Dulra · 12/02/2024 10:13

Snowypeak · 12/02/2024 10:05

Read the bbc article on it, there is nothing but Isreal says..., Idf reported ....
so exactly what happened not yet verified independently

Snowypeak · 12/02/2024 10:14

The above explanation of Rafah from henmazzig is why I hope no one forgets what’s happened.

Because if the Gazans are driven out, there will be a whitewash for future generations in which Gazans never lived or owned homes in Gaza (except for some recently-arrived Iranian terrorists).

Israel will have been a kind and generous nation which tried and tried to be friends but the terrorists wouldn’t allow it. They attacked out of the blue, starting a war which took Israel completely by surprise. Israel tried to defend itself using minimal force to civilians, with the sole aim of rescuing the hostages. After the hostages were rescued and Hamas was defeated the remaining Iranian terrorists voluntarily left Gaza forever.

I think it’s important that the ICJ, amongst many others, will have gathered a lot of evidence contradicting the above for future worldwide reference.

I think it will be a lot harder to whitewash history now that information is so freely available on the internet. Even if many of this generation of Israeli’s has a need to believe the apt story you’ve outlined above, in order to sooth their conscience, they may find their children less willing to do so. History is no longer being written solely by those in power.

Snowypeak · 12/02/2024 10:22

Which is not to say that Hamas should have attacked and killed civilians and taken hostages. They should not, and that much is true.

The rest of the narrative…not so much. Again, I’m so glad to see such extensive pushback and recording of evidence.

Snowypeak · 12/02/2024 10:24

Lots of lies from both sides on the internet.

Institutions such as the ICJ are hopefully less likely to allow unverified evidence.

Humdingerydoo · 12/02/2024 10:24

Ok so on the same thread, we have people refusing to believe the reports of how the rescue mission went down overnight because there isn't enough proof as we can't trust anyone Israeli, but when I said similar yesterday about there not being any proof of what exactly happened to Hind, I was shouted at and ridiculed for several hours.

I hope you see that you're active and willing participants of a Hamas propaganda war. I hope you see the absurdity of the words you're typing. The hypocrisy of it all.

Ask for further proof all you want, just please stop ridiculing others for doing the same.

BackandForthRoundandRound · 12/02/2024 10:26

Humdingerydoo · 12/02/2024 08:58

I agree, I say it to my kids all the time. Which is why I get proper angry when I see so many people on here and all over the internet saying terrorism is a legitimate form of resistance. It is absurd. They also have a choice. No one has forced anyone to turn to terrorism, rape, kidnapping and murder. That was an active choice people made.

The same is also applied to Israeli Forces.

Humdingerydoo · 12/02/2024 10:28

BackandForthRoundandRound · 12/02/2024 10:26

Yes, the other poster already made that point. That's what I was responding to. Well done for repeating it 👍🏻

ProfessorPipsqueak · 12/02/2024 10:28

Dulra · 12/02/2024 08:12

That is disgusting and it was shown on mainstream TV not just some fringe channel or website. I genuinely could not name another Western nation that would allow such hate to be broadcast. It would also be considered a hate crime in many nations. They are journalists so maybe pro Israeli posters can now understand why we struggle to believe everything that is reported by Israeli journalists because they are definitely not impartial

This has shocked me a lot throughout this conflict. I understand that middle eastern culture is different than our own but the way disgusting views are given mainstream platforms in Israel is something else. The way politicians can spew genocidal, racist, dehumanising rhetoric unchecked by the voting public. That and the protesters blocking aid, humans gleeful about starving other humans to death, I cannot get over how basic and barbaric it is. When people talk about Israel as a country having 'Western values' I always wonder what part of the West they live in so I can avoid it.

No, the reality of everything is readily available for people to see.

That is what some people don't like as it documents what is happening and shows the Israeli Occupation for what it is
