All this would end if Hamas gave up firing rockets into Israel and apologise for the Oct 7 massacre and release all hostages. .

That's not what Netanyahu said just yesterday - so you would appear to be wrong

If you’re suggesting that Israel was stopping Gazan people going to university or travelling between towns they weren’t

At least, as you said to me, you have updated your position from earlier idiocy too. Takes one to know one, am I right?

No idea what you’re talking about. That’s the border between Israel and Gaza. It’s Israel’s right to stop anyone crossing their border. Nothing at all like needing paperwork to visit a town in the same country.

You’re not wrong saying you’ve got no idea what you’re talking about!

You realise that Israel refuses to let Palestine be a separate country, don’t you?

Actually I’m not sure you do realise that they aren’t separate countries.
I think you need to find a ‘Middle east politics for dummies’ book before you come near these threads again 😂😂😂

Just like the Israelis throw around anti-semite, it is fair to call anyone who says that this started on October 10th, a genocide supporter. Netanyahu has made his intentions clear. The west has made its in intentions clear. Whilst babies, children, women, men, the elderly and the disabled are murdered, the west keeps talking about October 10th, as if the Palestinians have been left to be in their land; flourishing and happy? I won't answer that question. The Israelis block aid trucks because they say ''since when has history fed the enemy."
If this was a 6 YEAR OLD GIRL in Ukraine, surrounded by dead bodies in a car, calling for help (listen to the audio from the Red Crescent), the help that went got murdered too, would the west be silent? Or would be out to nuke? The dehumanisation of anyone outside of the west, benefits all of us who live in the west. We will always have a scapegoat in Africans, Asians, Arabs and so on, yet the west has caused the majority of this. I hear time and time again that 'America has a plan for the conflict.' Why does America have a plan? Why is America involved in any of this, never-mind the billions they give to the Israelis? Why is Sunak involved in this? Why does he need to be prime minister when he has millions?
I am struggling tonight as I put my 6 year old to bed. She has baby like features and a missing milk tooth. The thought of her being injured and surrounded by her family all dead and calling for someone to come get her is incomprehensible.
May her mothers hurt heal and may Netanyahu never sleep peacefully again.

You ask why Sunak needs to be prime minister as he has millions? I don't care how many millions he has as long as he's up to the job. He's obviously passionate and not doing it for the money/lecture circuit/book deals.

How about looking at your dd as you put her to bed and thinking instead how relieved you are that she doesn't have to witness her parents and siblings being tortured and killed and her mother raped aka October 7th?

I absolutely believe in a two state solution.

I absolutely believe in a two state solution.

You believe it exists now..?

or you hope it will happen so you’ll convince yourself it actually exists one day so will invest imaginary borders in the meantime?

DistinguishedSocialCommenator · 11/02/2024 10:15

People in Gaza are to afraid to speak out against Hamas.

A couple of ladies who had to evacuate their homes did speak out and that takes a lot of guts and both were saying the same thing. EG Hamas uses the money for their own goals and good life for them and their family, EG the Hamas top brass in Gaza family members had jobs and drove around in big cars.

As soon as all the hostages are released and the top people Hamas lot are handed over, this war will continue.

No one wants to answer this question I will try for the last time. Why is Egypt not opening its borders?

Where have the billions gone that are given to Gaza every year?

How would we in England feel if we were attacked in the October-style attacks and over government sat on its hands.

Last post on this thread and I reiterate, in all wars the innocents lose their homes, businesses, lives and family the top brass are often sat in bunkers or far away countries in 5 star hotels.

Thank you for finding the strength to educate people whether they want to hear it or not.. you must realise there are plenty of terrorist sympathisers on here.

Israel does not refuse to ‘let’ Palestine be a separate country.

The state of Israel supported a two state solution back in 1947. It was rejected by the Arab side.

inkworks273 · 11/02/2024 18:21

So Israel will stop sniping 4 year olds if Hamas release the hostages?

Where's the proof they did that??

I’m really struggling to comprehend some of the positions on this thread. I’m not sure if it’s just woeful ignorance or posters being deliberately obtuse

Just 2 weeks ago, Netanyahu once again ruled out a two state solution and said he will not conceive of a day when Palestinians have sovereignty.

Are you honestly trying to suggest that because of a referendum nearly 80 years ago, the idea should be off the table?

How can you be so utterly ignorant of decades of attempts of peace talks in the region all faltering because of Israel’s dogmatic position on this?

it blows my mind yet again that posters don’t have even the most basic information about the situation and yet feel they can add valid opinions. The arrogance is unreal!

Fuck me, I’ve just said I support a two state solution.

That is currently not supported by Netanyahu or Hamas.

One of those can be removed by democratic elections. The other can’t.

Yes, it is absolutely chilling.

I have no doubt that they are mostly left wing (as am I) people who think of themselves as being anti-racist and having a social conscience. And yet here they are. It is all, at its core, just old fashioned antisemitism.

The frustration is because of terrorist sympathisers and antisemites twisting words.

Thank you, I read that with great interest.

That Parliamentary debate could be the basis for a new thread though, so though there are a few things I might have quoted from there for more reflection this is not quite the place.

Briefly, it does bring up the same figure of 800000- 850000 or some mentioned 1 million, (with one speaker mentioning positive motives for resettling among some).

The message of the debate overall is to remember Arab Jews too are refugees; the Arab Jews too, not just Palestinians, suffered greatly after 1948.

There was also mention of support for a two state solution and a warning not to recreate more suffering.

I’m not making personal comments

It is merely an observation to point out that some posters are woefully ignorant of even the most basic of facts of the conflict.
Eg not realising that Palestine wasn’t a country

Other than a couple of posters calling anyone who disagrees with genocide ‘antisemitic’, I don’t think there have been any personal attacks on this thread but point out any you’ve seen

And which posts have been sympathetic to terrorism?

PutMyFootIn · 10/02/2024 23:21

You clearly have a very poor understanding of Middle Eastern history if you think it’s a fact that this started in October 7th.

Maybe you should learn about 1947, the creation of Israel, Al Nakba, 1948 war, 1967 war, the continuing occupation of Gaza and the severe restrictions on rights on Palestinian people, the continuous attacks on Palestinians, the illegal settlements. So much you don’t understand when you loudly tell us this started in October 7th 2923.

The problem is - nobody cares about that. It's just history. Many of the people who lived through that aren't even with us any more. It may sound brutal but people really just don't care.

I fucking care !! As do most civilised people.

fleurneige · 11/02/2024 20:18

Netanyahu has denied the right of Palestine to their own State even since 1978, and possibly longer.

Livinginanotherworld · 11/02/2024 20:21

Humdingerydoo · 10/02/2024 23:12

Rest in peace little Hind. Such a pointless death, to add to the tens of thousands of other utterly pointless deaths in this most recent war.

OP is making it sound as though you have proof Israel killed her though, and did so with intent. Where did you get that proof from? No one else seems to have access to it.

I can’t believe you are actually saying this. Have you listened to the audio’s, have you seen the pictures ? There is no doubt Israel did this war crime and killed those poor girls, the world knows it, I have no words for anyone who can deny this.
