Probably more than you and I

Im starting to read already comments about the pics that have been posted today. Let’s say it’s quite interesting. Shame the thread is 1k comments already… hopefully an independent organisation will soon verify them , so that aid continues being sent to Palestine

on the aid basis I’ve also read (Spanish news) how Israel is refusing to unload a ship with aid for Palestine and also making the unloading of some aid slow …

None of us know what Israel's plans are, so maybe we shouldn't speculate.

They can't impose sanctions unless it's a matter of international peace and security. This is a localised conflict.

So you want Israel to stop fighting and be destroyed by Hamas operating in conjunction with all terrorist groups in the area ??

I want them to stop killing tens of thousands of Palestinians. I'm surprised you don't.

Stop sending money to israel
stop sending weapons to Israel
stop any business with Israel companies
kick Israel out of any international competition

you know , similar things that were taken against Russia 2 years ago. Maybe this way Israel’s government realises that killing civilians is not the way of stopping a terrorist group

I think there's probably a middle ground, somewhere between "do nothing" and "destroy Gaza and kill and injure thousands of people, to the extent that the ICJ is investigating whether it constitutes genocide".

I don't want 10,000s Israelis killed by genocidal terrorists.

So to stop that happening over 20,000 Palestinians have to be killed? There's no other way? That's a very warped justification for genocide. I don't see some lives as better than others so ensuring no more innocent civilians are killed, starved, maimed, displaced is priority.

This conflict is rapidly escalating from local to a more widespread conflagration. It is no longer considered local. This is one of Blinken’s principal concerns at the moment.

Netanyahyu has made it clear that he intends to carry out a ground offensive in Southern Gaza and has given orders to the IDF to this effect. He must reasonably know that the consequences of sypuch action are either mass civilian casualties or forced transfer. Either consequence would be a war crime.

So time for the wider international community to call for economic sanctions and an appropriate response from the UN Security Council.

Well happily for you that isn't happening. But it is happening to Palestinians.

As I understand it, Human Rights norms impose a duty on States to move people out of harm’s way through (temporary) evacuations as a measure to mitigate loss of life.

Let’s see how many are killed in south Gaza. Those that die are you going to blame them for not moving once again? Victim blaming ?

Also it’s very unlikely that 10,000 Israelis would be killed by Hamas given that typically rockets kill fewer people in Israel than die in road traffic accidents. The 7/10 atrocities which were committed by Hamas occurred against a background of multiple defence failures at all levels, from intelligence officials who knew about the plans for a year to the people who couldn’t find the spare key for the gun cupboard, to the frenzy of “friendly fire “ that killed an untold number of victims. These mistakes probably won’t be repeated.
Israel will always have some type of terrorist problem because of demographics and borders but the real existential threat is from the destabilising forces of its own right wing

Who says they would be killed by rockets?

If all the terrorist groups massing on the borders invaded at once, it might be a different story.

All lives are equal. Shame some people cannot seem to realise that. But anyways, let's not let someone derail again.....
