Have seen in the news - I suspect it’s the tip of the iceberg and absolutely terrifying for Jewish people everywhere. Hamas need to be stopped, hopefully this helps to reinforce that they are a terrorist group and not some romantic notion about being ‘freedom fighters’

There’s some astonishing minimising going on in this thread. Hamas are not terrorists they are bad people? Like the villains in a Blyton book or something? Five go on a sadistic rampage?
And the conspiracy theories. Incredible.

Yep. Madness

Murica · 17/12/2023 01:44

Trump supporters is the US are always muttering darkly about what they don't want us to know when they're talking about Jan 6 or vote counting. Some posts in this thread are reminding me of them.

Thought this was interesting. Photo from 1941.

Are you saying Hamas aren't terrorists?

No I am not saying that. I have said repeatedly on other threads that they are terrorists. I hope that clarifies the issue for you and the others on this thread and others who are seeking to make this false accusation against me.

False accusation? You literally just said yoy won't call them terrorists.

I did not say that. Hamas are terrorists. I will call people who have been arrested in Germany and Denmark terrorists when they are convicted of terrorism. Leave me alone now.

This ! How can these people be called terrorists when they haven’t terrorised anyone ? They are not guilty of anything yet, probably held with little evidence as well. If they had done, then yes they would be, but they haven’t so they are not.

BigFrau · 18/12/2023 15:58

probably held with little evidence as well

That's quite a statement to make!

Is there a point to your inane comment?

I said I would call the people arrested in Germany and Denmark terrorists when they have been convicted of terrorist offences. I have already clarified I don’t support Hamas. I’m not sure why you’re quoting me again with the same thing I’ve just said two comments above.

This is reminiscent of the chicken and the egg riddle.
Which came first: The appalling treatment of Palestinians by Israelis, or Hamas's attack?
If we wanted to never suffer a Hamas attack, then why not allow Palestinians to live in digity. Its beyond the capacity of Israeli leadship to move this crisis in the right direction I fear.
BTW i fully condemn Hamas.

Way to victim blame.

stomachameleon · 18/12/2023 18:01

Nothing I have read would lead anyone to believe that's true and surely they would have been released? It's a long term investigation across more than one country.

Your instance in peddling conspiracy theories is worrying to say the least.

stomachameleon · 18/12/2023 18:03

@daytriptovulcan wow. Women and children were murdered and raped by people who broke through to get at them. Peace activists and babies. Shame on you.

Pizdietz · 18/12/2023 18:04

This seems to belong on an awful lot of these threads, but I'll just share it here 😊

Rishi Sunak says that too many innocent lives have been lost in Gaza, and that too many young Muslims risk being radicalised.

For fucks sake. It took this long for them to work it out?

Im not victim blaming. The Israeli state policy of military occupation is unhelpful, right? It brings death to Palestinians, and insecurity to Israelis.
Tha hardest decision for Israels government and Hamas miltants will be how and when to transcend the violence. Sooner or later thats whats needed. So stop trying to shame other people.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 18/12/2023 19:12

Israel has "gone beyond self-defence" and lost the moral authority in its war with Hamas, the chair of the Commons foreign affairs committee has said.

Shame on them.

stomachameleon · 18/12/2023 19:13

'Insecurity' that's a new way to describe raping and murdering.
I wasn't aware the kibbutz's were on 'occupied' soil. Where they?
You need to be shamed. Crack open a joss stick whilst you consider transcending that violence.
Ridiculous.

Have you ever criticised Egypt for not opening the borders of Gaza? The Gaza-Israel border was open to a degree. Dignity... Israel had left that territory, Gazans voted for terrorists, those terrorists effectively destroyed Gaza even before Israel invaded/returned this year. Should we then blame America, Britain and France for Normandy 1944??! Or should we blame those who took advantage of the difficulties Germans were going through and those who decided to support them?

Parkingt111 · 18/12/2023 20:30

@LondonDad77 have you seen pictures of Gaza before and after the war?
If there's anyone who destroyed it to the state where it is almost uninhabitable, it is the IDF.
Its a case of clear domicide and the world is somehow just watching it happen

LondonDad77 · 18/12/2023 20:30

The kibbutzim that were attacked with all those horrible things that followed were not in the West Bank (which is what you have suggested) but in 'Israel proper'.

LondonDad77 · 18/12/2023 20:31

There were tunnels in Vietnam. The US Army used a similar tactic there. Was it justified? I believe so.
