Have seen in the news - I suspect it’s the tip of the iceberg and absolutely terrifying for Jewish people everywhere. Hamas need to be stopped, hopefully this helps to reinforce that they are a terrorist group and not some romantic notion about being ‘freedom fighters’

Hamas has been operating for decades with the tacit support of the Israelis in their attempts to undermine the PA and frustrate a two state solution. The sudden attempt to now craft Hamas into some ISIS like global threat is a pathetic attempt to justify and deflect the mounting criticism of Israel’s genocide campaign.

every day this genocide is allowed to continue is a stain on our collective humanity.

So Hamas are kidnapping, raping and murdering innocent civilians because they’re just misunderstood?

Can you see why October 7th changed views on Hamas?

Yes. They are recognised terrorists. What more do people need?!

Funnily enough I bet my bottom dollar those defending Hamas will be the first to be annihilated by them. Jewish people just want to be left in peace in a Land that can call their own in where anti-semitism is at an absolute minimum.

Posting this from an AP report to counter claims made on here that the "bad people" 🙄"do not operate outside the occupied territories and certainly not in Europe":

German prosecutors alleged the suspects “have been longstanding members of Hamas and have participated in Hamas operations abroad.” They said the suspects were closely linked to the leadership of Hamas’ military wing, which is considered a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.

Yes. Part of this

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hamas-germany-denmark-terror-attacks-foiled-against-jewish-targets/

Terror suspects arrested in Europe, including several linked to Hamas who were allegedly plotting against Jews

The suspects, including some alleged Hamas members, were detained in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands over suspected plotting to attack Jews.

You see this is it, the word “allegedly” again. And in the same sentence the claim “ long standing members of Hamas” then the contradiction “ closely linked to Hamas” which is it ? It can’t be both. The secret services the world over have 1000’s of people on their watch lists. They tend to link them all together, it suits the narrative at the moment to imply they are Hamas. They don’t know this for a fact, they imply and assume to get everyone stirred up and frightened.

Hamas have enough going on in the M.E. to deal with, they are not interested in having to organise overseas terror plans, it’s not their MO and never has been. They are concerned with Palestine, that’s their reason for being.

They detain people under terrorist offences on a weekly basis, you rarely read it in the main stream news though. They want you all frightened to justify sending arms and troops to wherever suits them.

stomachameleon · 16/12/2023 16:08

We always say 'allegedly' until some is convicted. It's in Al jeezera

www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/12/15/denmark-detains-two-people-amid-terror-investigation

Lots of terrorist organisations have sleeper cells. They aren't otherwise engaged most of their leadership don't even live in Gaza.

Some people will make excuses for anything. Shame on you.

I have nowhere made excuses for anything, I was merely pointing out how these things are phrased to suit the narrative. It’s just fear mongering, we all have enough to worry about in life with the world the way it is, scaring people into thinking Hamas will attack in Europe when it’s highly unlikely is just adding to peoples fear, so no ‘shame on me’ thank you very much.

You have just said it yourself, lots of terrorists have sleeper cells. That is a fact, what is not a fact, is the propaganda that Hamas will attack Europe, this is nuts. You don’t know this, the secret services don’t know this. We are just as likely to have an ISIS attack but you didn’t see that plastered all over the news the other day did you. It’s another ruse to portray all Palestinians as Hamas and allow western governments to justify sending more arms and finance to Israel.

BigFrau · 16/12/2023 16:40

You see this is it, the word “allegedly” again.
Crime reporting uses "allegedly" where cases have not yet been to court. It is the basic principle of innocent until proven guilty, which I'm sure you agree with and rightly so in a civilised society. However, the word is still used even where there are reasonable grounds to suspect a person has engaged in wrongdoing.

And in the same sentence the claim “ long standing members of Hamas” then the contradiction “ closely linked to Hamas” which is it ?
No contradiction. What the sentence actually says is the suspects “have been longstanding members of Hamas" and then that they are "closely linked to the leadership of Hamas’ military wing".
Not "closely linked to Hamas". Linked to the leadership of the military wing.

The secret services the world over have 1000’s of people on their watch lists. They tend to link them all together, it suits the narrative at the moment to imply they are Hamas. They don’t know this for a fact
Do you seriously think this is how secret services work?!

they are not interested in having to organise overseas terror plans, it’s not their MO and never has been.
Oh, okay, let's all just believe everything Hamas say and write, as clearly they are completely honest.

They detain people under terrorist offences on a weekly basis, you rarely read it in the main stream news though.
Yes, this is true - plenty of terror investigations do not make the news. For security reasons many investigations are subject to extremely restricted reporting. Germany, for example, has very strict restrictions around what can be reported in these cases and how. Hence the use of the word "allegedly".

They want you all frightened to justify sending arms and troops to wherever suits them.
Who is "they" here? Genuine question. Just trying to follow your logic.

BigFrau · 16/12/2023 16:45

It’s another ruse to portray all Palestinians as Hamas
None of the suspects arrested in Germany was Palestinian.

But I do agree with you when you say "we all have enough to worry about in life with the world the way it is". Yes, Jewish people in particular. As these reports show.

“They” are the western governments who are supporting and sending arms to Israel. They want to justify their claim to stand with Israel. If we are frightened of terrorist attacks, we will want them to give arms and financial aid to keep us safe. This is their plan. Get us scared of the big bad terrorists, then we won’t be protesting on the streets wanting a ceasefire.

The quotes below are from the Danish PM, a country which just recently voted for a ceasefire

Are you sock puppeting? That reply wasn't even to you? We have 'Crossed paths enough times', have we? To my knowledge I have never replied to you prior to this thread? If you have name changed or are posting on multiple accounts I have no knowledge of that but you should probably be upfront about it if you want people to recognise who you are.

I'm not engaging with genocide denial, I'm not engaging with war crimes denial. It's clear to see what is happening. Those who won't see it are doing so willfully at this stage and that is your choice. It is my choice to not engage with people who deny it and therefore support it. If you think that is childish and pathetic crack on, the opinion of people who defend the killing of innocent people is of no interest to me.

You're right, apologies, I did change my name a few weeks ago. In fact I completely deleted my account, which I'd had for a few years. I now only post from VPNs and falsify my personal details. I know that's paranoid, but the level of pure malice on here is mindblowing. Maybe I'm just not used to social media nowadays.

That, I think is a matter of opinion, I’ll respect yours but I expect you to respect others who don’t agree with.

stomachameleon · 16/12/2023 18:24

@Livinginanotherworld the point is we Don't know either way and yet some governments are that concerned they have issued statements and made arrests.

BigFrau · 16/12/2023 18:26

Of course it's a matter of opinion. I respect peoples' right to make claims and to express them, but I don't have to respect the claims themselves. Claims don't inherently deserve respect.

ChalkWitch · 16/12/2023 21:32

There’s some astonishing minimising going on in this thread. Hamas are not terrorists they are bad people? Like the villains in a Blyton book or something? Five go on a sadistic rampage?
And the conspiracy theories. Incredible.
