Hamas planned attacks on Jewish people in Europe

Have seen in the news - I suspect it’s the tip of the iceberg and absolutely terrifying for Jewish people everywhere. Hamas need to be stopped, hopefully this helps to reinforce that they are a terrorist group and not some romantic notion about being ‘freedom fighters’

Honestly, some posters will never believe that the threat to Jewish people worldwide is legitimate. Millions of Jewish people could be murdered in Europe and North America, and many people would still say there is no credible source or the whole thing is being doctored to fit Israel's agenda.

No. You want to post about masks slipping etc go ahead but it's almost 11:30, I have covid and absolutely no desire to engage in a discussion with someone with that kind of narrative in their head.

Edited

The narrative in your head is becoming clearer, and the irrational projections are incredible!

Just because I challenge the use of biased, inflammatory (and potentially Hamas-propaganda) terms like "genocide" and "war crimes," you and your gang see me as a white middle-class lady in pearls, gloating "KILL KILL KILL!!!" because I despise, errrrmmmm, people with a different colour skin (??????). Or something like that...

I mean, this is just too childish and pathetic to even begin to unpick. You take offence at my posts because you either can't or won't understand them. We've crossed paths enough times for you to have seen my longer/more careful explanations, so it's pointless repeating them!

War is inherently a crime against humanity. And as wars go, this is (to put it mildly) an unusually difficult one for both sides. That's why I disagree with the labels you attach to it.

The funny thing is how clear you are about what you think should happen to anyone who opposes your views. What you hope will "come to my door." Astonishing.

Yep.
Some tie themselves in knots to blame Israel for everything.

What you hope will "come to my door." it is astonishing also not wise since any terrorist event randomly impacts regardless of what pp post on mumsnet

The exchange and comments were odd.

We keep getting told that civillians get killed in wars. That's what happens apparently. So if it happens in countries that are backing Israel and supporting this war then that's what happens in wars. It's no different than the 1000s of innocent Palestinians that have been killed and maimed. If you support war you might get dragged into it, civillians might get killed. I don't know why some posters who have been very vocal about the fact that civillians get killed that's just what happens suddenly seem to care that more civillians might get killed. Seems like double standards to me.

There is a massive difference between a war and a terrorist attack.

Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark are not involved in the war in Gaza and do not deserve terrorist attacks from hamas or other groups in their countries. Didn't Denmark vote for a ceasefire.

Your post reads like you couldn't care less if terrorists attack them because of deaths in the war in Palestine. It reads like you support attacks or at least not condemn them or actually care about them.

Absolutely disgusted with some of the comments on this thread. No wonder Jewish people feel threatened. And bearing in mind some PP's will be tempering their comments to fall within Mumsnet moderation and talk guidelines.

They do believe it's legitimate, they just don't care. At least they've dropped the pretence of only being anti-Israel and are now being openly anti-Jew.

Yes it's disgusting. Blatant.

And you really think they are impartial and can say whatever they want: https://www.dci-palestine.org/contact ? Somehow, not even hamas friend Mr Corbyn repeats this lie...

Those who don't approve of the use of children as human shields presumably also condemn the IDF for using them?

Does anyone have information on attacks carried out outside of Israel and the Occupied Territories by Hamas? I'd be interested in learning the history of this.

Bingo!

Bingo!

Ah, but they didn't happen since detected and stopped so to some that doesn't count.

To another poster well she says so what it's no different to killing civilians in a war.

Desertrose2023 · 15/12/2023 13:22

Hamas has been operating for decades with the tacit support of the Israelis in their attempts to undermine the PA and frustrate a two state solution. The sudden attempt to now craft Hamas into some ISIS like global threat is a pathetic attempt to justify and deflect the mounting criticism of Israel’s genocide campaign.

every day this genocide is allowed to continue is a stain on our collective humanity.

So are you saying Hamas are NOT. a global threat?

It's easy to see how they have been emboldened by all the "free, free Palestine" marches across the world.

Their PR us great, even if they are murdering terrorists

Are you sock puppeting? That reply wasn't even to you? We have 'Crossed paths enough times', have we? To my knowledge I have never replied to you prior to this thread? If you have name changed or are posting on multiple accounts I have no knowledge of that but you should probably be upfront about it if you want people to recognise who you are.

I'm not engaging with genocide denial, I'm not engaging with war crimes denial. It's clear to see what is happening. Those who won't see it are doing so willfully at this stage and that is your choice. It is my choice to not engage with people who deny it and therefore support it. If you think that is childish and pathetic crack on, the opinion of people who defend the killing of innocent people is of no interest to me.

I said as much in the beginning but got shouted down!

It's really quite obvious

Yep.

Its not trendy to not be anti-Semitic though so a lot of us were silenced

stomachameleon · 16/12/2023 10:27

So angry @OuiOuiKitty.
Don't like being called out?
Feel free not to engage. I find it odd you would say these things on this thread anyway.

Minimising and shouting down people when they feel most scared and vulnerable. Hardly something to be proud of?

backtowinter · 16/12/2023 10:39

@Christmascountdownpanic

Ah. I meant bingo as it was within the first 20 posts that one of the usual suspects turned up with the same old, hyperbolic, derailing drivel

I was out last night and was answering as I scrolled through the thread rather than reading to the end first

I'm not at all angry. That poster can say what she likes. Like I said I don't know her from Adam, I've just replied to a few of her posts on this thread and have seen her post about 'collective punishment' being fashionable and defending the killing of civillians on another. It would appear that she is the one with a whole narrative in her head about us 'crossing paths'.

If you are reading my posts as shouting down, then again that is a narrative in your head just like me being angry is. I've made my stance clear and I stand by it. I don't think any civillians life is worth more than another. I don't support the killing of any civillians. I think the people that support the killing of some and brush it off as 'just what happens' but then wail about the potential killing of others are hypocritical. Either people matter or they don't, their ethnicity, their religion or their country of residence or birth shouldn't come into it.

www.theguardian.com/world/2023/dec/14/four-arrested-in-europe-over-alleged-cross-border-hamas-terrorism-plot

I found the paragraph about the 'long-standing members' who had 'participated in operations abroad' interesting.

Also the fact this had been ongoing from spring 2023. Somewhat rubbishing the claim this is a response to the latest conflict.

'Huge risks of terrorist attacks in the European Union' is very worrying.

stomachameleon · 16/12/2023 12:09

@Delightangels it was awful.
