It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve seen videos on twitter that are beyond anything I can even begin to describe. Palestinians are being murdered in their thousands and the western media is largely pretending it’s not happening.

The average age of the people who have been killed in Gaza is FIVE years old.

The UK media are not showing how the Israeli government is openly talking about, and cheerleading genocide now. Israeli government speaks about Palestinians as if they are not humans. They are saying women are targets as they can have babies. I’ve just read how, since October 7th they have taken over 5,000 Palestinians from the West Bank and tortured them. They were already routinely arresting Palestinians and taking them away from their family with no reason and no but this is not being adequately reported.

Please, please visit sites such as 972 magazine and declassified uk. The BBC, etc, unfortunately aren’t reporting the extent to what is going on.

Yes, I have read posts that scream of paid propaganda on the Conflict board. Am I not allowed to express my opinion? And why are you on this board? To police it?

@EasterIssland It's not segregation by MN - Jewish people asked for it because we needed a safe space. That's all really.

Please, if you don't care about Palestinian casualties and have nothing to say, then stop derailing.

We are allowed to mourn genocide. We are allowed to feel desperation, horror and sadness at a generation of children being either indiscriminately killed, or maimed and traumatised for life.

@LemonAidG Since when was reading a thread 'policing'? You were criticising 'Jewish Mumsnetters' so I'm perfectly entitled to comment on that, as a Jewish woman.

The board was set up because people couldn't talk about anti-Semitism or v anything to do with being Jewish without posters shaming them for taking about anything other than Gaza. Apparently they can't even do that on their own board.

Why is it specifically the Jewish Mumsnetters boards your trawling to check whether they're talking about the right thing?

Never heard of "white functioning" and can't find anything about it on Google. So during the Nazi era Jews weren't white, but now we all are? Despite my family being mostly Iraqi? My dad was frequently stopped by people after 9/11 for looking like an Arab. I guess I tell him that actually, he's white and therefore must've imagined it.

btw yes I’ve reported several comments from the Jewish board. Comments attacking other posters from these boards and name calling us. I’m happy with those threads as long as they’re respectful. None of the pro Palestinian people have gone to those threads to cause trouble. We respect it. But if they use those threads to throw hate speech then I’ll report them like I do on any other areas of MN

But I am horrified by the 75 years of illegal occupation, murder, apartheid and human rights abuses by the Israeli government on Palestinians, and the genocide and driving out of their own land now and gleeful replacement by Israeli flags. I can talk about that without that conversation being taken over by dimishing that because other deaths came first and thus the Palestinian deaths are justified.

Why are posts about Palestinians constantly being forced to condemn Hamas or talk about the Israeili deaths first? Why can't we have a post condemning Gazan genocide without being accused of being terrorist sympathisers or not caring about Israeli deaths?

Fair enough as I’ve not read every single thread on that board. The few little I’ve read have been respectful apart from one where I did report several comments

@EasterIssland that's fine but Mumsnet appear to not deleted much so they don't share your opinion.

There are lots of unpleasant pro Palestinian posters who try and derail threads subtlety and unsubtly.

As far as I remember they were all created in response to threads on site stuff asking for them. Feel free to stay one, it'll probably do more good than complaining about Jewish mumsnetters here.

@Chaitales that works both ways... imagine if every time you tried to talk about the hostages (for example) and was accused of having blood on your hands. And Genocide. And premature babies....constantly.

I agree with you and share the viewpoint.

But right now I am equally condemnatory of the brutal attacks on innocent people by both sides; this doesn't mean I regard the culpability for the political situation to be equal.

I do find it hard to read posts where people seem to think there is validity to mourn or comment only on one set of atrocities.
