Please do all you can to object to the genocide of Palestinians

It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve seen videos on twitter that are beyond anything I can even begin to describe. Palestinians are being murdered in their thousands and the western media is largely pretending it’s not happening.

The average age of the people who have been killed in Gaza is FIVE years old.

The UK media are not showing how the Israeli government is openly talking about, and cheerleading genocide now. Israeli government speaks about Palestinians as if they are not humans. They are saying women are targets as they can have babies. I’ve just read how, since October 7th they have taken over 5,000 Palestinians from the West Bank and tortured them. They were already routinely arresting Palestinians and taking them away from their family with no reason and no but this is not being adequately reported.

Please, please visit sites such as 972 magazine and declassified uk. The BBC, etc, unfortunately aren’t reporting the extent to what is going on.

Israel and its allies are repurposing the goals and lies of 1948 – in Gaza in 2023

Israel is openly carrying out ethnic cleansing inside Gaza, driving Palestinians outside their homeland as happened in 1948. And yet, just as during the first “Nakba”, Israel's lies and deceptions dominate the West’s media and political narrative.

Thanks, genuinely the first time I've seen that! There's plenty of other footage of people trying to escape the festival so not sure why there would be a need for fake footage.

It’s the first time I hear about it as well but found it after the other poster mentioned it

"lost loved ones"? You make it sound as though a ship went down or there was an avalanche. Yes, they lost loved ones. But the revolting cruelty, mad disgusting behaviour, personally - by hand - murdering children and babies, raping women, spitting on them, parading them in trucks with their legs broken, this is what people can't get their heads around.

I don't want anyone to die, but you cannot excuse Hamas with whataboutery. There is no 'but what about...' that can equate to what they've done. They knew Israel would retaliate like this; indeed they wanted it.

I agree with this post. i also winced at reading “lost loved ones” when the footage of that young woman, looking like a crumpled, broken doll in the back of the truck , is etched in my head.

LemonAidG · 21/11/2023 21:13

@Girahim It's never stopped being about Hamas. What they did is despicable. Just because a person is advocating for a ceasefire, does not mean they are pro Hamas.

For all those supporting Israel's actions and claiming this is not a genocide do you not see that Hamas was not created in a vacuum? Do you not see that by bombing Gaza to oblivion, you're breeding hate and potentially sowing the seeds for new terrorist organizations?

I'm disgusted that people are able to look at pics of dead children and shrug their shoulders and say....but Hamas.

I've looked at the Jewish Mumsnetters boards, and am quite shocked at the lack of condemnation of the killing of children. Why is that? Do they not consider Palestinian children equal to their own? Most of the posts seem completely disconnected to suffering of the children in Palestine. As an FYI the average age of someone who has died in Gaza by Israel's bombing is 5.

We need to stop pretending that Israel has been innocent all these years. The information is out there, no amount of propaganda and hide history.

Hamas is vile, no question there. But what is Israel aiming to accomplish here beside taking the land for their own? Israel can't bomb and torment people for decades but play the victim when held accountable.

There is no whataboutery in my post, my questions are quite straight forward. Seeing the futility in further death and destruction does not in anyway excuse what Hamas did, please do not imply I am a terrorist sympathiser.

I have refrained from describing the horrifying way in which either Israelis or Palestinians have been killed, we all know how awful it is without graphic descriptions.

Anyone who thinks Israel is undertaking a genocide of Palestinians simply doesn't know what the word means. The only genocide planned here is of the Jews by Hamas.
Hamas cannot fight the IDF like real soldiers so their only weapon is to manipulate international public opinion to try to force a ceasefire. They do this with exaggerated and unsubstantiated claims of non-combatant casualties - blatant propaganda - on social media, exactly as the OP is trying to do here.
For Israel, ceasefire means surrender, and allowing Hamas time to regroup and re-arm before launching another 7/10.
There can be no ceasefire until the IDF have killed every Hamas murderer they can catch, and destroyed Hamas' infrastructure to the extent they can never repeat that outrage. Expect nothing less.

Are you actually for real?

Every child, baby, woman, man in Gaza is that enough for Israel? No because they’ve now started on the West Bank.

The blatant propaganda comes from Israel. Soldiers literally dancing on peoples graves, making videos of people making fun of people actually suffering, having a good time and laughing, propaganda videos of kids singing cleanse the land! WTF.

How dare you try and understand the OP.

I haven't bombed anyone.

Why do Jewish mumsnetters specifically have to use that particular board to condemn the actions of a foreign government?

Don’t forget about Lebanon where innocent people are being killed as well

Are the horrifying images of what's happening to Palestinian civilians also etched in your head?

A surgeon at one of the hospitals in Gaza had to amputate his own sons leg, without anaesthetic, yesterday. His child died anyway.

I'm sure we've all seen and heard enough horror to last a lifetime in the last few weeks but some people only seem to have empathy for one of the two groups. I'm appalled they the other groups suffering doesn't seem to count at all.

Chaitales · 21/11/2023 21:21

Can we have ONE thread where we mourn the loss of Palestinian lives without either being accused of being terrorist sympathisers or what-about-ery.

Palestinians, in their lives, have had their land, homes, dignity and liberty taken away from them, and even in death they are not given the respect to be able to be mourned for without attention being diverted

LemonAidG · 21/11/2023 21:21

@Girahim Don't be daft, I meant 'you' figuratively. If the posts are centered around the conflict, I would expect some sort of emotion towards war, and the killing of innocent children.

Hear hear.

Boomboom22 · 21/11/2023 21:25

Israel are deliberately bombing hospitals and un schools. This is well beyond retaliation. They openly use language like children of darkness and dehumanise Palestinians.
On the other hand the Jordan Chant is antisemitic.
Hamas are a terrorist group, you expect them to cause terror. Israel are meant to be a democratic government not an even worse terrorist group!

@LemonAidG

It's because it's not a board about the 'Conflict in the Middle East', that has it's own section - which you're currently posting on - and where Jewish women have also been actively posting. On the other hand, Jewish Mumsnetters is for Jewish women (obviously) to discuss Jewish-related issues. It's not for you.

Humdingerydoo · 21/11/2023 21:25

It was a mixture of both, which is why Hamas don't know where 30 or so hostages are.

PeasfullPerson · 21/11/2023 21:26

Are we all at least united in wanting the killing of innocent people to stop.

@MNHQ any reason why there is a black mn/ south Asian and Jewish mn but not Muslim?

Thanks

Stomacharmeleon · 21/11/2023 21:31

@LemonAidG I didn't notice you on there? Unless you have just gone to pick over posts and report. Why? Seems odd behaviour.

@AintaAnna I absolutely believe that to be true and I think the sooner the Red Cross are allowed in the better. Then we will see how complicit people are with terrorism. There is money in it after all! 'Pay for slay' is quite the money spinner.

etmoiandme · 21/11/2023 21:31

@LemonAidG So you resent us having our own board? Cool cool. Do you feel the same way about the Black Mumsnetters Board? And if not, why not?

The reason JMumsnetters was set up was because of the fucking appalling antisemitism on here in the period following 7/10.

derailed by people and possibly people paid to write propaganda

Yikes.

@LemonAidG so we are segregating boards now depending on faith, race, opinion? Interesting....

It's an open forum. I am allowed to read.

That’s what MN seems to be doing to be honest. There are boards for black / south Asian / Jewish. Why not one board for the Muslim community ?

ps I don’t belong to any of these communities but I’d understand if Muslim people wanted their boards same way Jewish people want theirs

Stomacharmeleon · 21/11/2023 21:34

I imagine if it's asked for it will be granted....
