Please do all you can to object to the genocide of Palestinians

It’s just heartbreaking. I’ve seen videos on twitter that are beyond anything I can even begin to describe. Palestinians are being murdered in their thousands and the western media is largely pretending it’s not happening.

The average age of the people who have been killed in Gaza is FIVE years old.

The UK media are not showing how the Israeli government is openly talking about, and cheerleading genocide now. Israeli government speaks about Palestinians as if they are not humans. They are saying women are targets as they can have babies. I’ve just read how, since October 7th they have taken over 5,000 Palestinians from the West Bank and tortured them. They were already routinely arresting Palestinians and taking them away from their family with no reason and no but this is not being adequately reported.

Please, please visit sites such as 972 magazine and declassified uk. The BBC, etc, unfortunately aren’t reporting the extent to what is going on.

Israel and its allies are repurposing the goals and lies of 1948 – in Gaza in 2023

Israel is openly carrying out ethnic cleansing inside Gaza, driving Palestinians outside their homeland as happened in 1948. And yet, just as during the first “Nakba”, Israel's lies and deceptions dominate the West’s media and political narrative.

Israel have been deliberately funding hammas since BN got in power. They want terrorist attacks to happen in order to justify raising gaza to the ground. This has always been part of BN gov ideology, that many many Israelis have been protesting for years. And now they appear to have converted many on the ground with pop songs encouraging genocide etc.

Well there’s almost a thousand posts on this thread and I vaguely recall the one about resistance fighters but otherwise don’t recall any. And MN is obviously is quite strict and so probably miss the ones taken down. But obviously there must be people who think like that- I imagine that the strength of feeling is like any natural phenomenon and has a sort of normal distribution, with each atrocity pushing popular sentiment closer to the violent end of the spectrum. Like I see the videos of Israelis blocking food for convoys and surely there wouldn’t normally be people in Israel that would go out of their way to keep food from starving children?

PeasfullPerson · 02/02/2024 21:24

It’s terrible that anyone would post that. To post that is clearly unacceptable.

Unfortunately we also have a problem that people who speak up for Gaza are often accused of all sorts of things which are clearly untrue. This can come across as an attempt to control the narrative and scare people into being quiet.

This is also then makes it harder to gauge how much of an issue there really is with people posting support for Hamas, and it pushes us further apart.

Excusing terrorism? Surely not...

Yes it’s becoming a bit of a “cry wolf” situation. People who say that Hamas are freedom fighters probably do support them but according to some posters here pretty much anyone who doesn’t back Israel 100% is pro Hamas.

So people who say Israel is partly to blame for the situation or that Israel should stop bombing the hell out of civilians they’ve locked into an area they want to destroy. People who don’t accept the narrative that all Palestinians are terrorists (even children), anyone who goes on a march….

This is an excellent post, spot on.

Airstrikes overnight in Rafah. The same place where thousands of displaced civilians have been forcibly crammed into by orders of the IDF.
So many dead children, it's sickening how this can still be supported.

I really hope the people in the UK don't let the politicians who have enabled this ever forget it. They should all be voted out. Despicable.

Parkingt111 · 03/02/2024 09:09

It is absolutely espicable. Gallant has said the IDF operations will now focus on Rafah. There are currently approximately a million people sheltering in Rafah, which is almost half of the population of Gaza. Can you imagine the civilian casualties of airstrikes in such dense areas?
And keeping in mind at the start of the war, those who were killed in the north were victim blamed with, 'well they should have moved south, should have moved to Rafah'
I don't know what's worse, murdering displaced civilians in 'safe zones' or those who can still think it's ok to do so

I know. I really cannot understand how you can.
Justifying the relentless bombing, the destruction of infrastructures, starvation and the list goes on is, in my view, indefensible and revealing of how these people view Palestinians.
After all, the Golden Rule, shared by the Abrahamic faiths, states "That which hate done unto yourself, do not do unto others".

PeasfullPerson · 03/02/2024 10:18

Yes exactly. What happened to the plan to ensure people could move to safe zones? Where should people go now! Is there anywhere left to go?? Has this been the plan since the start?

PeasfullPerson · 03/02/2024 10:21

Over 11,000 children have been killed now. I can’t think of anything that could ever make this OK. I am so sorry for everything our human stupidity and cruelty has made them endure.

So everything Israel does is ok because they are inherently morally superior? * *

Firstly, please stop defending the indefensible.
Secondly, I thought mentioning WW2 wasn't allowed or is it only if you support what is happening? I could make some parallels with what was done then and what is done now too.
Thirdly, this is not a war as a war implies regular armies, bombs, air capabilities and navy. Israel has those in abundance ( thanks to the USA and the UK), Gaza has none. In addition, starvation used as a war weapon is prohibited according to the Geneva convention, which Israel signed up to btw.
Finally, your last paragraph beggars belief. Despite the documented and verified genocidal rhetoric of the Israeli government and the actions of the IDF, you still believe this is about Hamas? A just war? Jesus!

Of course, it was.

PeasfullPerson · 03/02/2024 11:25

@JohnMytton you appear to be contradicting yourself.

You say ‘it’s not OK’ in reference to the death of over 11,000 children.

Then you talk about the ‘justice of Israel’s response’.

So, do you personally believe that the killing of over 11,000 children as part of Israel’s response is OK? Yes or no?

Boomboom22 · 03/02/2024 11:38

It's very clear that John will justify anything at all that Israel do. There's no point. There never was. They are wilfully blind.

inkworks273 · 03/02/2024 12:01

Killing 11,500 children is "trying to prevent civilian deaths"??

The mental gymnastics people have to do to justify this to themself.

Auvergne63 · 03/02/2024 12:13

EasterIssland · 03/02/2024 11:20

@Auvergne63 if I could I’d click thousand times “thanks” in your post.

Thanks but I think some people have closed their eyes and hearts to what is happening because to face the inhumanity of what "their side" is doing would be too much for them.

Kindatired · 03/02/2024 12:34

@Stomacharmeleon If you want to solve a problem you need to acknowledge its root cause. That’s different than condoning atrocities

I'm genuinely think you're wasting your breath

There are some posters on here (and it's the same posters over and over on every thread) and they cannot grasp this

Just let them get on with it. I think all the mutual back slapping makes them feel good and as if they're doing something.

A couple of the posters do know what they're talking. Most don't. They just repeat what shills on Twitter/X tell them

You can't win
