She purposely riled everyone up about the protests and now there are far right and football hooligans planning to counter riot and incite violence.
This is known by the police hence the heightened police presence on the day.

However it's now going to look like it's because of the pro Palestine march even though they are not planning to go anywhere near the cenotaph and its just a peaceful protest.

The UK, US and many of us in the UK support Israel in this conflict, not Palestinians. It is not a right wing thug issue. It is the rule of law and democracy v Hamas terrorists and some who want Shariah law across the whole planet as their aim.

If only it was as simple as that. But the Israelis are knowingly killing, maiming and orphaning children, day after day. That's what I'm against.

I thought so too.

I rarely have a good word to say about any of our police forces but I agree think Met have done a really good job today under quite challenging circumstances.

Nope I didn't say I align with Tommy Robinson. Read my post again. I think those "peace" protests are scary for Jewish people because they have told us on here and elsewhere. The chants of from the river to the sea, glorifying Hamas etc. Jewish people have been murdered in France by Islamists. Some of the people involved in the marches are Islamists. Tommy Robinson has not killed anyone.

You said in your previous post to "count you in" with the counter protestors who were being described as "far right". I'm not sure what you meant by that if you weren't actually saying that you align yourself with them.

There were quite a lot of Jewish people on the march calling for a ceasefire, so while some Jewish people may be finding them scary, others clearly support them. Personally, I think it's quite antisemitic to assume that all Jewish people must be in favour of the indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians simply because they're Jewish.

To be clear, I absolutely and unreservedly condemn all forms of antisemitism and indeed all forms of religious or racist prejudice. However, I do have grave concerns about the humanitarian catastrophe that is now happening in Gaza and I completely understand why people feel moved to protest and call for a ceasefire. That doesn't in any way condone the horrific acts of violence against innocent Jewish people, either in Israel or elsewhere.

It is possible to care about the suffering of innocent civilians on both sides, and to condemn the leadership on both sides for their failure to deliver peace.

feellikeanalien · 11/11/2023 18:50

Suella Braverman knows exactly what she is doing.

Tommy Robinson and his thugs would have been out today regardless but what she said has allowed them to feel vindicated.

She is meant to be the home secretary. Even if she genuinely believes what she said she should never have expressed it in an interview with a national newspaper.

Coveescapee · 11/11/2023 18:56

@MrsBennetsPoorNerves I said and I quote What a topsy-turvy turvy world we live in when those who don't want Jewish people to feel unsafe because of these "peace" marches (which I have never seen speaking to Hamas to give up the hostages or even criticise what they did) are labelled as far right. If so count me in.

So that means count me in with people who don't want Jewish people to feel unsafe not count me in with Tommy Robinson. I didn't even mention him! Duh.
The humanitarian crisis is down to Hamas. They knew this would happen. Iran is behind the 7th October and are laughing their heads off at the disharmony caused by the marches, they truly are evil.

Lonelycrab · 11/11/2023 18:57

She is meant to be the Home Secretary

And she’s failed over and over again to uphold law and order. She’s perverting it for her own ends.

Sunak is now the erg’s puppy, he’s only got his eye on his bank balance, screw what’s actually happening in the world, and this country 😑

GE now ffs. This is a fkn joke.

Literally nobody is saying that people are "far right" simply because they don't want Jewish people to feel scared, so unless you were talking about Tommy Robinson and his ilk, your comments make no sense at all.

Bloke from Geebeebies news apparently holding back his mate, who’s getting stuck in with attacking the police.

Lovely

Obnoxious twat. GB news is the pits.

stormy4319trevor · 11/11/2023 19:15

Does Jacob Rees Mogg do a show on GB news or is it Talk TV? I get mixed up between the two.

Coveescapee · 11/11/2023 17:28

I've done a quick Google and can't find that so not sure if you've made it up or not. I expect it was just a few trouble makers as is said about the people on the " peace" march who have paraglider signs and shout about jihad. I doubt it makes any Jewish people feel as unsafe as the "peace" marches do.

I wouldn't feel safe around these people. And I'm white British.

JRM is GB News.

Coveescapee · 11/11/2023 20:06

@MrsBennetsPoorNerves no, like many people I feel angry about these weekly marches because they are stopping people going about their business and making people feel unsafe. Some of the marchers are Islamists and some are naive young people who don't know anything about the situation. If I were to come to London to counter protest I would be falsely characterised as far right no doubt by some of the media. That doesn't mean I'm a Tommy Robinson supporter. But I would much rather there were peace marches for both sides marching peacefully and quietly and respectfully not full of the aggressive arrogant people we have seen. I would join that. I hope you understand what I'm saying as I think many millions feel the same.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 11/11/2023 20:06

I can't imagine the kind of hellhole we'd be living in if that woman ever became leader. She reminds me of Trump-loud, provocative and far less bright than she imagines. On top of which, she believes the British public are thick and courts the most idiotic in the population.

stormy4319trevor · 11/11/2023 20:09

@TooBigForMyBoots Thanks. Bloody disgraceful for a politician to be on such a biased, extreme platform.

BorgQueen · 11/11/2023 20:13

The march itself might well have gone without trouble but what about the hours afterwards?
There was apparently a dispersal order at 5pm, didn’t happen.
A brave Iranian Man with an anti Hamas sign was brutally attacked, the police just stood there.
There is a huge mob in Oxford St (or Regent St) thousands of them.

A mob screaming ‘kill the pigs’ at the police and they are just standing there.
There was supposedly a ban in place for the railways stations, Victoria was almost a riot a couple of hours ago.
A middle aged couple being verbally abused / intimidated and the police siding with the abusers.
There are nutters driving around in convoys of luxury cars, hanging out of them with Palestine flags and fireworks.
They have surrounded a Synagogue chanting and waving their flags.
None of this has been reported.

stormy4319trevor · 11/11/2023 20:14

@BorgQueen How do you have the info, can I ask?

MushMonster · 11/11/2023 20:17

And, in the meantime, yet another hospital has been bombed, still under fire. No power, at least to part of the complex.
You cannot expect for this to happen day in and day out and people staying at home in silence, sipping cups of tea! Come on now!

notimagain · 11/11/2023 20:19

@BorgQueen

"There was supposedly a ban in place for the railways stations, Victoria was almost a riot a couple of hours ago."

Just heard from somebody who went through Waterloo an hour or so ago that it was fairly intimidating there as well.

"None of this has been reported"

The Guardians' rolling live report is picking up on it (certainly the railway station issues)...They've also just reported the Met stating:

"Officers have detained a breakaway group of around 150 people from the pro-Palestinian demonstration in Grosvenor Place.
The group were firing fireworks and many are wearing face coverings. Officers are using their Section 60 and 60AA powers to detain and search those involved"

London’s pro-Palestine march live: Police detain 150 pro-Palestinian demonstrators

Police say protesters were held in Grosvenor Place after fireworks were let off

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 11/11/2023 20:19

What I would say, though, is that 500 EDL thugs isn't a lot against 850,000 peaceful protesters (latest BBC estimates of protestors).

@BorgQueen How do you have the info, can I ask?

I’ve been looking
Can’t find anything reported
so far
except masses of people at train stations trying to get home

Readingallnight · 11/11/2023 20:45

so
In terms of the pro Palestinian march for peace and a ceasefire it all went off smoothly

Hope Braverman is sacked for whipping up hate
And Sunak, his report was a disgrace.

Reallifelurker · 11/11/2023 20:50

I can't imagine the kind of hellhole we'd be living in if that woman ever became leader

What a thought 😱

Reallifelurker · 11/11/2023 21:03

A brave Iranian Man with an anti Hamas sign was brutally attacked, the police just stood there.

I heard that story a few days ago (think it was mentioned on the placards thread) so it couldn’t have happened today, must of been a previous march.

Readingallnight · 11/11/2023 21:12

The fireworks thing is odd aswell.
Fireworks were let off last week at Trafalgar Sq. The pic online ( Guardian ) about it happening today is not of Grosvenor sq, that looks like part of Trafalgar sq although it’s very blurry.

Two fireworks were let off at the end of the speeches today, the organisers asked the people to stop over their megaphone.

Maybe it happened today but I haven’t found the evidence yet and you’d think if 150 people were involved there would be something online, someone must have videod it. Has anyone seen the evidence from today.
