Israel has bombed the gates of the Al Shalha hospital.

Everyone knows displaced families are sheltering in and near hospitals.

Wise words, Rammer, though I'd add that the security services don't work like that either, and however much some might enjoy it their deliberations aren't served up on social media for the uninformed to pick over

Political research conducted at Lund University in 2019 rated NGO Monitor highly for "counter-democratic activities" and found that the organization was "heavily involved in [the] denunciation" of human rights NGOs by depicting them as "unprofessional and biased".[55]

In all of NGO Monitor's reports, it was found to criticize NGOs that "had a perspective of promoting Palestinian human rights and/or taking a critical stance toward Israeli Government policies vis-à-vis Palestinians".

The research also found that NGO Monitor appeared to "be promoting pro-Israel views regarding the conflict in a partisan way" and that, organizationally, NGO Monitor "might be less independent" and "tied to strong political interests and actors".[55]

Leonard Fein, writing for The Forward in 2005, said that NGO Monitor is "an organization that believes that the best way to defend Israel is to condemn anyone who criticizes it."[56]

Yehudit Karp, a member of the International Council of the New Israel Fund and a former deputy attorney general of Israel, said that NGO Monitor has released information "it knew to be wrong, along with some manipulative interpretation".[57]

@hulahello @Puzzledandpissedoff I accept academic, particularly peer reviewed, as probably most unbiased, so Lund Uni's research looks interesting. All organisations have their issues, including Amnesty. All the same, I don't think criticism of them from an impartial organisation can be taken at face value.

Parkingt111 · 14/11/2023 22:58

@Motorina I just saw it
The two main points which they pick at is quite obvious
The names of the days of the week being called a guardian list
And the curtain which can supposedly be used as a backdrop for hostage videos, but till now it's not been seen in any videos so it's a strange assumption to make to say the least

@Rammer My memory is hazy, but I do believe a dossier was carefully compiled to justify Iraq - though later it was called 'sexed up.' Apologies if I am remembering that wrongly.

hulahello · 14/11/2023 23:08

@Rammer it matters because thousands of innocent, poorly, homeless, sick children, women, men, drs and medics are there. They stand to lose their lives - babies in incubators, people on critical care support etc. They have no chance of surviving. Bombing a hospital is the cruelest.

Even if Hamas are there (doubtful), there must be a better way than bombing it.

I don’t expect them to give me evidence of everything but I do expect them that the evidence they give me has been doubled checked and that no lies are provided. Since 7-10 Israel has been caught in many lies

whg would they lie ? Because they need the world that is rising against them to support them. They need to be pictured as the victims and they’re being pictured as the killers.

@Rammer It is important for people the world over to know whether attacking hospitals is justified. There's doubt, as various Israeli politicians have talked of forcing the people of Gaza out, creating a second naqba, nuking it etc. I think many people are worried that the Gazans are being ethnically cleansed and treated with cruelty and injustice. Truth matters, the ideals of international law, of morality and justice are important to many people.

@Rammer ofcourse there will be questions and asking for proof of evidence. By those who oversee war crimes at the least. Or how else is there any accountability.
Remember a whole ruthless war on WMD where was the proof for it? Turned out in the end there wasn't any in the first place

I will remind you a few lies :
attack on hospital. Someone close to the president posts that it’s been them. It gets deleted
attack on hospital they want to proof that it’s hamas. They post a video from 2022. Gets deleted
attack on hospital they post a video. It’s an hour before the attack I believe
attack on hospital. The audio they present is quite doubtful. Hasn’t been cleared whether it was Hamas or not
the lady who hamas killed. They posted they had found her body. The post got deleted as they didn’t have it
video about the fuel, a nurse says that hamas is rejecting the fuel. The nurse is not a nurse but an actress.
Video about the tunnel under the hospital. These are the names of the people taking care of the hostages. It’s the days of the week

im happy for you to trust those lies. I and many others won’t trust anything Israel says

Places like hospitals and schools are protected as civilian infrastructure. If an army want to attack them as a military target they need to provide evidence to legitimise their actions. The evidence is the difference between a war crime and legitimate military action.

Out government is supporting Israel, I'd like to think we would take care to make sure we are not endorsing war crimes.

It would be wrong to assume that scepticism about information provided by the IDF means posters believe every word Hamas says. They are terrorists so I take it for granted that they lie as easily as the IDF.

I can however form an opinion based on what members of the Israeli government say, like Hamas, they don't seem to have a moral compass to share between them. Their stated intention is to eliminate Hamas but they so often seem to say the quiet part put loud. Claims that there are no innocent civilians in Gaza, suggestions of nuking Gaza, stating they intend to push Gaza civilians into the Sinai, remember the amalek etc they are making it clear that one way or another they will empty Gaza of Palestinians, that is ethnic cleansing and against international law.

If you do your research I think you’ll find, if you’re prepared to, that they have all been proved as unverified misinformation and
Some ( quite a lot actually ) as downright lies, later quickly removed by Israel.

They have been discussed, digested and analysed….job done.

So do I.

What sort of ‘…..’ raid a hospital full of people, the sick and the dieing

stormy4319trevor · 14/11/2023 23:42

There's a lot of people there, many sick, children and babies. It's not the place for shoot outs and fighting.

If there was any hamas they had fled the places days ago! not sure what they’re aiming to get from it apart from a few more innocent deaths of vulnerable people
