Israel has bombed the gates of the Al Shalha hospital.

Everyone knows displaced families are sheltering in and near hospitals.

The "But Hamas" apologists for IDF war crimes are looking more and more deluded with every day and every post.

I absolutely condemn Hamas and everything they stand for. But Israeli govt clearly don't give a shit about following the rules of war or avoiding civilian deaths.

I read the other day they have killed 60 Hamas out of 11,000 or so deaths so far. Making around 0.5% accuracy rate if that is true. A level of incompetence and cruelty that cannot be justified or excused by shouting "But Hamas".

Malificent1 · 10/11/2023 19:09

That even Biden is astute enough to now publicly distance himself from Israel’s actions, speaks volumes.

sprigatito · 10/11/2023 19:09

@HeidiInTheBigCity absolutely, I didn't mean to put words in your mouth that you didn't say.

Of course the hostage-taking was appalling and we all want to see the safe return of the ones who are still alive after their own government has bombed their location for a month. The Israeli leadership doesn't give a monkeys about getting them back, however; if they did, they would accept the offer of an exchange for some of the thousands of people, hundreds of children, who are languishing without charge in Israeli prisons. The torture and illegal detention of Palestinian children by Israel is well-documented and proven, and has been going on for decades.

Rebuffing every objection to the mass murder of almost 11,000 civilians with "release the hostages" isn't a good faith response, it's positioning 200 Jewish lives as more important than 11,000 Palestinian lives, refusing to engage with the fact that Israel is, and has been for 75 years, the aggressor, and is disingenuous to boot, because nobody with even an inkling of what is really going on here believes that "releasing the hostages" would make any difference to the long-planned ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian Territories that is underway.

PurpleCrocs3 · 10/11/2023 19:10

@Fizzadora If Hamas released the hostages tomorrow (assuming Israel hasn't blown them all up) Israel would find another excuse to continue the bombing and you'd be tying yourself in even more knots trying to justify it.

Wibble128 · 10/11/2023 17:52

probably find that true to form the Hamas terrorists have an HQ / Armoury / etc underneath it. Cynical lot and hoping that they can get western sympathy for their works that put the populatio they profess to represent at Risk. The first job a Giovt it to provide for its citizens NOT put them at risk by embedding armed forces in tunnels beneath things like Hospitals. Sadly their behaviours are ignored by western useful idiots.

Oh piss off with trying to justify it FFS

Exactly
This not just some random tweet
It has a very loaded message

TakeMe2Insanity · 10/11/2023 19:17

Fizzadora · 10/11/2023 17:56

Yes they are aren't they. If they would release the hostages, lay down their arms and stop hiding behind the innocent, this would all be over by tomorrow.

You are so deluded if you genuinely believe that. Your beloved Bibi wants to eradicate the Palestinian blood line from the face of the earth. The fact that even the Guardian reports he’s refused to take hostages back. The fact that protesters in Israel are being hidden for protesting against his methods, that his interests are not the hostages says it all.

Yes!

The shifting rhetoric of US officials, especially, is extremely telling!

You can, essentially, read it as "oh, holy shit! this is insanity (but: we have some geopolitical interests and an upcoming election year to consider)!"

PurpleCrocs3 · 10/11/2023 19:20

It's been so disappointing to see even the more left leaning senators like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders shy away from calling for a ceasefire.

This!

I find it so infuriating that virtually every pro Palestinian has to say they condemn Hamas, I don’t see a single pro Israeli being obligated to say they condemn Israel’s actions and frankly they’ve created a bigger death toll.

To be fair ... Ben Gvir probably actually wants that. So does Smotach. So do their political parties and voters. So does whats-her-face the Israeli ambassador whose name I keep on forgetting but: she is so extreme that even Melanie Philipps takes exception to her ...

... as for Bibi: while he has a well documented history of anti-Palestinian racism, personally, I think he is a lot too self-centred and narcissistic for a true ideologue. He wants to stay in power, out of trouble on a wide variety of legal issues he is facing, and ... he suffers from delusions of grandeur!

That does not mean he is any less dangerous that way, just: having been around and an interested observer for much of his career, I think he is more of a narcissistic sociopath than an ideologue, personally.

Wow are there really still people justifying bombing hospitals because....Hamas.

FFS have they not seen enough dead bodies and wounded people.

Exactly it doesn't matter if their HQ is under you don't fucking bomb a hospital find another way !
If you can justify the killing of children for any reason you should really evaluate tour humanity

EasterIssland · 10/11/2023 19:27

Also a claim of white phosphorus being used in the car park

https://twitter.com/MuhammadSmiry/status/1723058186930762092

someone in another thread mentioned that law allows this during the war. Note. : law doesn’t allow throwing it in an area where there are civilians , even if it’s for military reasons. So this is not allowed

Israel has used white phosphorus against Palestinian civilians before, and has also used it on civilians in Lebanon.

Hmm yes , I'm sure Muhammad Smiry's sources are totally legit - when he's not chanting from the river to the sea ....

EasterIssland · 10/11/2023 19:31

The power generator behind Al-Shifa hospital has been targeted.

underneaththeash · 10/11/2023 19:32

I don’t understand why people are camping out at the front of hospitals when Hamas are using them as bases. Are they being forced to?
Israel have made it clear that people need to leave northern Gaza whilst they destroy the terrorist organisation.
it’s incredibly sad, no child deserves to be hurt physically or mentally during a war, but as a parent if someone told me to get out along a certain area because I’d voted for an organisation which had killed and abducted people of another nation, I would get myself and the children out.

sprigatito · 10/11/2023 19:33

They bombed the blood bank in Gaza yesterday as well.

Coffeepants · 10/11/2023 19:37

Actually no, the illegal occupation and apartheid state would continue, with westerners moving into their “homeland” and Palestinians being driven out of their homes. Palestinians would still be subject to check points, denied freedom of movement, have their water supply controlled by Israel… so it may end the massacre but it will not end the occupation

Perhaps they need urgent medical care.

This has been explained many many times!!
Not everyone can leave, many are too weak or sick. Or have sick and injured families. Even if they leave they know the bombing is also happening in the south anyway, there is no safe place

Coffeepants · 10/11/2023 19:39

Really? This makes the slaughter of 4000 children okay? Nothing can justify Israel’s brutal atrocities against innocent civilians
