Israel has bombed the gates of the Al Shalha hospital.

Everyone knows displaced families are sheltering in and near hospitals.

@SomeCatFromJapan I couldn't understand but the face of the journalist doesn't look familiar from any I have seen reporting from inside Gaza
Maybe someone else can help

Parkingt111 · 14/11/2023 19:46

The US have said they are trying to push for a third party to help evacuate the patients from the hospitals
I'm assuming that they will try and evacuate them to Egypt

Fairtobefairohhhhhc · 14/11/2023 19:48

I'm sure Al jazeera has a couple of their journalists inside. I was watching it last night

There may be many who don’t support them, but many that do. Following the rape and murder of the young Israeli girl, kidnapped from the music festival on 7th October, there were many Palestinians following Hamas on the streets in Gaza, cheering them and spitting on her poor naked body. You’re delusional if you think all the Palestinians over there are manipulated and virtuous. They really aren’t.

There are dickheads no matter where you go and no matter what the circumstances.

Have a look at what the Israelis were and are posting about dead Palestinian children and the deparavity in Gaza. That does no gice anyoone a right to go and blow them to bits.

This is a very poor show of "proof" of support of Hamas.

In any case - you do not slaughter an entire population becuase of that.

What you can do though is other them.

The argument is "they deserve this, they are animals. They spit on dead bodies".

That is a very hard heart you are carrying in your chest.

Parkingt111 · 14/11/2023 19:48

It seems like a logistical nightmare in the current situation but praying somehow it can happen

The department will support an independent third party to conduct evacuations from Gaza hospitals and the US “doesn’t want to see any civilians, certainly not babies in incubators and other vulnerable people, caught in crossfire,” it said.

Does anyone here understand Arabic?

It's claiming that this patient is complaining about Hamas hiding amongst them, and is then cut off by the journalist. I'm not sure if it's authentic or not, as I thought journalists weren't present Gaza just now, so it could be from a previous conflict.

https://twitter.com/amjadt25/status/1724493172498153778

Even if that is what has been said it could mean anything. Why are they hiding among us, could mean in houses or shops or bushes or wherever. That is 'among us' and lets face it if they are in Gaza then of course they are somewhere hiding 'among us'. That tweet is trying to make out that it means hospital when that is not what was said at all. I don't think anyone is saying that some Hamas members aren't somewhere in Gaza, just that Israel are spectacularly shit at finding them, and that blowing up 1000s of people and starving millions in your shit hunt for Hamas isn't cool. So in conclusion that interview isn't the 'gotcha' anyone thinks it is.

To me, this is performative.

The USA is a very dishonest broker.

how old are you?

A staggering 315,000 grave violations against children in conflict were verified by the United Nations between 2005 and 2022 worldwide, a stark illustration of the devastating impact of war and conflict on children.
As states, donors and the humanitarian community meet in Norway for the Oslo Conference on Protecting Children in Armed Conflict
, UNICEF has reported that, since monitoring began in 2005 (since 2008 in the case of Iraq), the UN has verified 315,000 grave violations committed by parties to conflict in more than 30 conflict situations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
These include:

  • More than 120,000 children killed or maimed.
  • At least 105,000 children recruited or used by armed forces or armed groups.
  • More than 32,500 children abducted.
  • More than 16,000 children subjected to sexual violence.
The UN has also verified globally more than 16,000 attacks on schools and hospitals, and more than 22,000 instances of denial of humanitarian access for children. For Iraq, the numbers are staggering, with over 9,000 children killed or maimed (3,119 killed and 5,938 maimed) since 2008 to the end of 2022. Despite the considerable reduction on the number of reported cases in the last years, the overall number represents, on an average, more than 1 child killed every other day and one child maimed daily over the reported period. As these are just the cases that have been verified, the true toll is likely to be far higher. Additionally, many millions more children have been displaced globally from their homes and communities, lost friends or family, or separated from parents or caregivers.*

Fuck all wars.

Israel is a very high performer in that it has killed more children that any other country in the few decades.

Exactly, if they really wanted to they could have had a "humanitarian pause" ... Whatever that is anyway.

Please don't tell me what my intentions are. I am making a valid point and everyone on this board should think about all of the children who are victims of war. If you're ignorant enough not to know, I have provided valuable information. People are acting like this is the only war they've been alive for. That is insensitive.

People are acting like this is the only war they've been alive for. That is insensitive.

Nope.

People are horrified to be witnessing a genocide.

Trying to "whatabout" is getting you called out.

There is Hamas and Hamas supporters and then there are Palestinians - totally different. No different from Netanyahu and his supporters and then Israelis who think their government is wrong.

Martyrs at the moment doesn’t mean a Palestinian fighter/resistance/hamas/whoeever against the IDF. Anyone killed by Israel/IdF is referred to as a martyr.

The caption on the video is accurate. I don't understand the point - no-one is defending Hamas? It still doesn't justify the IDF attacking hospitals, that's still an act of pure evil. Injured and poorly civilians are not acceptable collateral damage.

Fairtobefairohhhhhc · 14/11/2023 20:04

@TakeMe2Insanity yes martyr means anyone who has been killed really.

Not about terrorists. A martyr in Islam are the following

A person who is killed in an epidemic
A person who is drowned
A person who has bedsores, causing fever and cough resulting in his death
A person who dies of a stomach disease
A person who dies in fire
A person who dies under falling debris [in a disaster]
A woman who dies during childbirth

I don't even know why we use the term collateral damage. As if a sniper targeting a nice nurse is collateral damage.

Yes! I was going to say this too, but you worded it better than I probably would.
"They are martyrs" is almost comforting, in a way. Like Christians would say "they're with God now" - the person has gone to a 'better place'.

I really don't know. I don't think any deaths in Gaza, excepting Hamas fighters, are acceptable. A lot of people seem to view civilians dying as a sort of necessary evil though.

Fairtobefairohhhhhc · 14/11/2023 20:10

@ChickHenLittle we can also say in the caue of Allah. But not as in murdering! As in defending themselves as Muslim too. So if there was a war against Muslims and the Muslim dies then they have died in the cause of Allah also. So they will be martyred in battle..

And I don't mean like 911 or bombing others. I mean like war.

But extremists use this and twist it and use it for terrorist acts which are not allowed in Islam. But you always get nut jobs.

Yep, they have a very warped view of Islam and twist it to suit their own agenda.

Cejm · 14/11/2023 20:43

Do any of the people who support the IDF actually watch the videos shot in the hospital grounds because for a “Hamas military base” you don’t see any militants or weapons just doctors, injured people and a lot of children.

Also if there are tunnels under the hospital wouldn’t they just smoke them out - or gas them since they love scattering phosphorus gas around - bombing buildings full of children is a strange way to get militants underground.

EasterIssland · 14/11/2023 20:50

SomeCatFromJapan · 14/11/2023 20:40

From BBC Kirby added: "We do not support striking a hospital from the air and we do not want to see a firefight in the hospital where innocent people, helpless people, sick people are simply trying to get the medical care that they deserve, not to be caught in a crossfire. Hospitals and patients must be protected.
