Israel has bombed the gates of the Al Shalha hospital.

Everyone knows displaced families are sheltering in and near hospitals.

Israel have just produced "satellite images" to show Hamas are using the hospital as a base. However James Bays, UN diplomat just said multiple foreign agencies such as WHO, Red Cross, Aid International have denied ever seeing evidence of this. He (James) is saying this is a war crime in his opinion.

Why would the WHO and the Red Cross have any knowledge whatsoever of Hamas military locations?

Yes of course and so should you because the logical extension of any other view is that by placing their HQs and military installations inside protected places, Hamas have rendered themselves immune from any possible response and that therefore the events of Oct 7 can just happen again and again ad infinitum.

What other country in the world would possibly accept that?

Do you think that Hamas should be immune from any response because they choose to operate from protected places?

Well now I know your thoughts and how your mind works.
civilians, especially when they are unable to defend themselves, must always be protected. Even in wartime, and even if the other party does not adhere to the same principle.
And again the director of the hospital has called on the UN to come and check if there is a base as the IDF claim.
There is no verified proof of this except what Israel have said.
And you will find by the growing outrage globally that there are hundreds of other countries who would not have acted the same as what Israel is doing to Al shifa and other hospitals right now
Netanyahu has really well and truly demonised Israel internationally through his own actions

connie26 · 11/11/2023 09:05

In a surprise attack, Hamas brutally slaughtered men, women and children in their own homes, filming and laughing about it. Rapes were so severe that there are reports of pelvises being broken. Israel is retaliating but somehow this is seen as being outrageous. What were they supposed to do, just sit back and accept it? Why aren't protesters angry at Hamas - they are responsible for this whole episode.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (denied access into Israel) has said this is a war crime.

The UN security council are currently drawing up new resolutions in an attempt to force a ceasefire.

The same UN Human Right Council that has Russia, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia etc as members? Cool cool cool.

Love to see how they are going to force Israel to do anything given they are in an existential war for survival and are also a nuclear state.

Do you know that there is only 1 combatant inside Al Shifa? Where have you got that info from exactly?

I'm well aware of the principle of proportionality. Open source reporting prior to Oct 7 regularly placed the Hamas main HQ under Al Shifa.

How many civilians are dead Vs how many Hamas fighters do the IDF claim to have killed?

Aid organisations have confirmed the civilian death toll, which even Joe Biden is now acknowledging is probably in underestimation, and the number of Hamas fighters the IDF claim to have killed have been provided by the IDF.

The figures speak for themselves, the IDF and Netanyahu government do not even know the meaning of proportionality.

Again you are asking an absurd question as I made no claim about how many, if any, enemy combatants were inside Al Shifa hospital, I gave sample numbers to illustrate my point about proportionality.

You didn't answer the question.

Do you think Hamas should be immune from any response because they choose to shelter in protected places?

So it's just maths then?

In WW2 150k British civilians were killed Vs over 2M German civilians.

Does that mean we were the bad guys in WW2?

I'm re-quoting you because this is the awful truth and catalyst of events that so many seem to be keen to gloss over and trivialise.

I'll never forget that young woman being pulled out of the boot of a car - blood pouring between her legs - and bundled into a back seat. I'm sure she was treated humanely both before and after whatever the hell she went through.

Yet if you mention that or young children and families tied up and burned alive and filmed you'll get ... 'yes that's awful BUT' .

Macron: "There's babies, there's ladies, there's old people being bombed".

The world are seeing the true intention of Israel. This is a purposeful genocide.

Keep saying it and it'll definitely be the truth... 🙄

Do you think it could just be possible that Macron's statement might be aimed at an internal rather than international audience given the demographic tensions inside France?

Just a thought... 🙄

Parkingt111 · 11/11/2023 09:17

@ColonelDax don't think so
He said he also hoped that the UK and US would do the same

It's not whataboutery.

You claimed that purely based on numbers of deaths, Israel are the bad guys. I'm staring that the principle of proportionality doesn't and isn't intended to reduce everything to the level of simple maths and body counts and then using a pertinent example from WW2 to show my point.

You didn't answer my question, where we the bad guys in WW2 purely because we killed more civilians (a lot more actually)?

If not why not as that would seem to undermine your entire point.

hulahello · 11/11/2023 09:25

@feralunderclass horrific. 💔someone will be along to excuse it in a moment or claim it is lies.

OuiOuiKitty · 11/11/2023 09:27

I actually can't believe what I am reading on the last few pages of this thread. The almost gleeful defence of the indefensible. Im sickened.

The US needs to step in now and order Israel to stop or they will withdraw all of their aid and the rest of the world needs to impose immediate sanctions. This is beyond inhumane, Israel need to be stopped now.

Hiddenmnetter · 11/11/2023 09:27

I don’t think anyone will excuse it. I just think that some people think Israel is to blame, and others think Hamas. The idea is not that this is good, or a desirable situation. Just that who is responsible is differing between us.

On the contrary it is awful and there is no excuse. Hamas must be held accountable for their use of hospitals as bases of operation (an actual recognised war crime btw, unlike the fictitious ones being blamed on Israel)

I’ve decided to ignore them. They’re trying to derail the thread so I’m not keen to engage with the pro Israel propaganda. They’ll soon get bored and go to another thread.

im following the don’t feed the troll approach, you’re not talking about the hospitals ? Then im not keen on your opinion

Nobody is saying what is happening now is good, just that's it's the inevitable end state of a terrorist organisation using human shields and then constantly threatening to wipe an entire ethnic group of people out of existence.
