How do prevent the rise of anti Semitic feeling in the UK?

Will the continuous marches in London lead to an environment where anti semitism becomes acceptable? There has been a massive rise in hate crime against Jews and surely in the UK we have a duty to prevent any platform which may lead to unjustified hatred of a group in the UK?

I feel we should feel pride we have a diverse society with a while range of ethnicities and religions but we should always act to encourage social cohesion by not allowing events that could contain messages of hate.

Although the support of the Palestinian people is absolutely reasonable in terms of free speech in a democratic society and it is reasonable to comment on the actions of the Israeli state at times the marches in a lot of major British cities have the danger of including terrorist apologists.

Jewish ambassador says London feels less safe than Israel

Tzipi Hotovely told the Daily Telegraph that the Jewish community felt fear due to 'jihad ideology' witnessed during pro-Palestinian protests in the capital city over the past month.

There's apparently no terrorist organisation grotesque enough that it won't have its Western fans. The outpouring of adoration for the Houthis on twitter has been quite something.

Decemberdaily · 13/01/2024 17:43

@SomeCatFromJapan it’s bizarre!

It’s unbelievable

Likely a separation from the actual violence and what it would be like if the violence was directed towards them

I mean who wouldn't love a group that reintroduced sex slaves to Yemen

That also caused Yemen to have food insecurity where 17 million people were affected because they couldn't afford or access food in 2021

A humanitarian group that is just trying to help other Arabs apparently!

noblegiraffe · 13/01/2024 17:58

Houthi, Houthi made us proud, now that sex slaves are allowed!

SomeCatFromJapan · 13/01/2024 18:20

Good old Rivkah Brown at it again:

Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe those on the fence or not as clued up on the issue will see just how vile the groups being idolised by the so-called peace protesters are.
They're clearly nothing of the sort. The only party they want to cease firing is Israel.

Yes that about sums it up Giraffe

These protesters just don't care about anyone or anything other than their cause. So they are willing to turn a blind eye to various groups of the world's most horrific fuckwits.

Else perhaps they don't see anything wrong with sex slavery, slavery in general, rapes, torture and causing food insecurity in the middle east depending on who is causing these things.

etmoiandme · 13/01/2024 18:28

@SomeCatFromJapan Oh she can't help herself can she! Wonder if she'll be chanting it at her 'unlearn everything your Jewish parents indoctrinated you with' workshops. I actually think she doesn't believe her shit. It just gives her relevance, far-lefty friends and a place on the Novara benches.

SomeCatFromJapan · 13/01/2024 18:29

Look at the Houthis playing dress up and enacting a pretend attack on Jewish people in Hassidec dress.
What larks!

@etmoiandme I'm not sure which is worse. To do something that hideous as a grift, or to truly believe it and believe that makes you a good person.

I don't know what the hell has happened. The marches against the 2003 Iraq invasion didn't resemble this in the slightest.

That is quite honestly one of the most bizarre videos I have ever seen 😱😅

etmoiandme · 13/01/2024 18:42

@SomeCatFromJapan I think the grift is worse - it's dishonest and preying on impressionable folks with the specific intention of building up a massive and often monetised following, and that following suddenly hate Jews (unless they're a 'good one' like her) or antivaxxers or whoever it is.

SomeCatFromJapan · 13/01/2024 18:50

@etmoiandme is Rivkah Brown Jewish?!

Someone should also tell the Houthi fans that child soldiers aren't a flex, they're an abuse:

@Trulywonderful are you or anybody else able to create a new one or continuation one please?

@SomeCatFromJapan This made me laugh. 3000 my arse.

@etmoiandme I'm really shocked at that. What she said after the 7 October atrocities! She sounded celebratory.

etmoiandme · 13/01/2024 19:40

@SomeCatFromJapan It was disgusting.

"Daniel "Globalise The Intifada" Kebede, General Secretary of the National Education Union, at the head of today's London hate march.

To his left, Ismail Patel of "Friends of al-Aqsa", a fanatical Israel hater and a big fan of Hamas."

Nothing to worry about for those of us that work in schools then

How do prevent the rise of anti Semitic feeling in the UK?
stomachameleon · 13/01/2024 20:04

It is fairly quiet on mumsnet at the moment but someone will probably start a new protests/marches thread soon

I will eventually when there is something that is bugging me if not😂

noblegiraffe · 13/01/2024 20:08

I'm NASUWT who are generally much saner than the NEU who tend towards the Corbyn but I joined the NEU for the strikes. I quit again before Kebede took over.

Hoping that if there are strikes next year the NAS manage to sort their ballot out this time as I'm not sure I can join the NEU again. Kebede posted blaming NATO for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
