Conflict in the Middle East

If you are pro Israel when is enough killing enough?

TakeMe2Insanity · 24/10/2023 17:28

Plenty of people have repeated “1400 Israeli’s were killed on 7/10”, but when is actually enough? The count is above 5000 in Gaza alone. Seriously when is enough enough?

That's very much disputed - plenty of evidence to the reverse -it was an ambulance trying to evacuate patients which had to turn back because the road was blocked
Suspect that when it tried to return to the hospital it was not following route agreed by IDF and therefore targetted

OK, so it's disputed.

When the troops debrief IDF command will get the answers.

This is probably why IDF haven't commented yet, as they don't have the full facts. When they do we will probably get a statement.

Parkingt111 · 11/02/2024 10:47

@Ladyjanegreysketle they aren't in that area anymore, which is how the Palestinians discovered the vehicle and burnt ambulance.
Unless you mean you want to wait till after the war is over

It was about 10 weeks ago IIRC - not very prompt with the de-briefing?

Humdingerydoo · 11/02/2024 10:33

Would hostages saying they were transported in ambulances be enough evidence for you? Some had to play dead on stretchers.

It's always difficult to dispute hostage testimony - for obvious reasons

But sounds like another very good reason not to target ambulances if they could be transporting hostages?

You seriously have a problem because the IDF doesn't work to your timescale ?!

Don't you think 2 and a half months is a long time to get their story straight?

I think the point is the ambulances are more often used to transport terrorists and weapons than hostages. But you know that. You're just trying to be clever and find yet another reason for why everything Israel says or does is pure evil. It's almost like there's some sort of agenda being pushed

"they aren't in that area anymore,"

Maybe not but they (IDF) will have bodycam footage that is timed and dated.

"Unless you mean you want to wait till after the war is over"

What I want hardly matters to the IDF and in any event I wouldn't presume to suggest to any army how they should prosecute a war.

Yes I do think a lot of what the Israeli government and IDF do is extremely questionable and a view shared by the ICJ and recent comments by Israels closest allies in the Biden administration

You're just trying to be clever and find yet another reason for why everything Israel says or does is pure evil.

This is just childish name-calling which doesn't deserve a response

Again - what I think doesn't matter.

The IDF doesn't work to your or my timescale.

If it really is getting between you and your sleep, why not contact your MP and ask him/her/they to raise it in the appropriate quarter.

We know there's an agenda being pushed and when people push back they get verbally abused.
Shows they are losing the propaganda war.

What a bizarre response

Clearly Reuters is a proper publication but also received the information from the IDF

do you have proof about what you are saying verified by someone else or are we going to believe everything idf says.

Ladyjanegreysketle · 11/02/2024 12:20

Ladyjanegreysketle · 11/02/2024 12:25

@Efacsen "It's a circular argument that is more to do with propaganda than facts"

OK if you think that then don't believe it, it doesn't matter to me, the IDF or Wonko the Wonder Dog, what you think! 🙄

Ladyjanegreysketle · 11/02/2024 12:27

@Efacsen "What a bizarre response"

Why?

I'm just trying to be helpful, as nothing I say seems to satisfy you. I suggested another avenue that might give you the answers you want.

Sorry I bothered.

Also , even if what you’re saying is true that doesn’t give the right to Israel to target every ambulances and doctors. They’re not all Hamas members. Don’t kill civilians

“and I suggest you do the same.”

🤔 not sure whether telling others what to talk or not talk about is really forum - friendly.

I was 'suggesting' not 'telling'.

Dulra · 11/02/2024 13:39

Posters are viewing things through very different lenses. Some will believe the IDF until it's proved otherwise and even then struggle to accept it, others won't believe anything that comes from the IDF until independently verified and I'm pretty sure no one believes Hamas.

Dulra · 11/02/2024 13:43

statsfun · 11/02/2024 10:13

Not read it anywhere, @Dulra - I just try to apply critical thinking reading the MSM.

If you read the BBC article carefully, you'll see that they never say that it was the IDF who killed Hind.

  • They quote the Red Crescent, who accuse the ID of deliberately targeting them. The BBC make no comment on whether they think the accusation is true.
  • They quote Hind's mother, who blames Netanyahu and Biden.
  • they describe Hind's desperate phone call, mentioning the tank next to her then gun fire and the call cut off
  • They describe what was found: the car riddled with bullets (not tank fire), the burnt out ambulance
  • They make a general statement about ambulances being protected, and that the IDF have accused Hamas of using them to transport fighters and weapons.

The point is that it isn't clear what happened.

No suggestion it was Hamas or that it wasn't the IDF. That's why I asked where have you seen suggestions, other than the rhetoric here, that there is the potential Hamas are responsible for it? I don't think it's a case of critical thinking more like wishful thinking.
