Conflict in the Middle East

To think Hamas have given Israel the excuse they were looking for?

MistyMooPup · 10/10/2023 12:14

Not all of Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will obliterate Hamas. But undoubtedly hundred if not thousands of civilians will now be killed.

I’m not sure what Hamas thought the end game if this would be? What have the Iranians convinced them of? This was a sophisticated operation, outside help was given for definite.

I’m not sure it’s possible to rationalise with dehumanised terrorists, neither am I sure what the end game will be, but I just can’t understand what Hamas expected if not a total war/strikes from Israel in retaliation.

But like everyone agrees, Hamas are barbaric terrorists who don’t care about civilians so they’re not going to give them up for civilians they don’t care about.

The whole thing is a mess. If Israel stops, these people will just now have hostages and food/water/electricity, they're not stopping.

If Israel continues, well, here we are. People being killed for no reason and there's no guarantee the hostages are even safe

I think a lot of people are ignoring that Hamas has a lot of power here. If they safely release people, things could really turn. It would show that they can be true their word and negotiated with. And it would make people really hate Israel if they continued to bomb. But Hamas won't ever do that.

They use both Israeli captives and Palestinians as pawns.

ForFriends · 12/10/2023 17:50

I agree with this
They use both Israeli captives and Palestinians as pawns.

Savages.

Whilst these babies parents and siblings didn't survive the massacre - grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins deserve respect. None of this furore can be helping them in their grief

Sadly, in many cases, their whole family will have been wiped out including grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, they whole world. It's important to note that Hamas didn't just kill, they butchered their victims. It was a frenzied blood thirsty massacre, killing 1500. Hamas perpetrators will definitely suffer adverse psychological consequences and will be at risk of suicide, suicide ideation, depression, and PTSD. This will stay with them, well the ones that aren't dead yet. They committed sheer evil.

By killing the Palestinians and forcing them out to neighbouring Muslim countries, Israel will have achieved its purpose- to have the entire country to itself. The Israeli ambassador was baying for blood on last nights Channel 4 news. The whole thing stinks to high even and they're now going to use to 'poor Israel' rhetoric to get their way. Hmmm...

So the victims are the ones who staged this whole massacre that happened at the festival, indirectly as you imply and after hundreds of them have been slaughtered/captured they are now using the 'poor Israel' rhetoric because they aren't genuinely grieved this was their plan all along.

Bet the Jews were all laughing behind closed doors during the holocaust as well, trying to make nice old hitler look bad by forcing his hand!

That is some twisted theory by a very twisted mind.

SovietSpy · 12/10/2023 18:10

There’s so many ghouls, one even on this thread claiming the reports of beheaded Israeli babies was false.
On social media it’s even worse. So many people demanding ‘proof’. I’ve even seen people questioning the massacre at the dance festival because they only saw videos of people running away rather than actual dead people. It’s sick.

I would wager the photos have been released to prove the atrocities took place. Hard to stomach but this is the world we live in now. People seem completely desensitised to the sickest crimes. All they care about is seeing it for themselves like it’s a film.

When the concentration camps were discovered at the end of WWII, Eisenhower said get journalists to see them as if we don’t people will deny this ever happened.

What’s more sick, is that the same skepticism and conspiracy peddling never gets applied to the reports about dead and injured Palestinians. Pretty clear why.

Blinken describes photos of 'depravity in the worst imaginable way'

Blinken says that what the images show is “beyond what anyone would want to imagine. Babies riddled with bullets, young people burned alive... It's simply depravity in the worst imaginable way.”

Slowly, very slowly BBC is changing tone and content in their reporting towards a less biased representation of the conflict. They are normally biased against Israel.

I think the BBC will now have seen the images of the terror attack and change their stance.

Breaking news, UK to deploy Royal Navy ships to support Israel

The UK will deploy patrol and surveillance aircraft and two Royal Navy ships to the eastern Mediterranean “to support Israel", No 10 says.

So like for like then? Some of your innocent kids for some of mine?

I asked you..what part of what I said don't you get?
Hamas did not carry out these atrocities for the love of their people.
And remember these jihadist groups have a much bigger, world wide aim in mind.
Be careful what you wish for.

Brilliant news.

The BBC has been fucking shocking, I’m glad they are finally being held to account for their blatant antisemitism.

SomeCatFromJapan · 12/10/2023 18:30

I believe some images were also shown to an EU delegation in Belgium this morning.

I had the misfortune to see one posted by Ben Shapiro which I will not link to for obvious reasons.

They need to hugely improve in many areas and specifically this

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 12/10/2023 18:32

They've certainly given Netanyahu the vehicle he needs to hang onto power and win a GE.

The whole thing is just beyond awful. I am really struggling to see how any peace, resolution and improvement in the lives of Palestinians is going to come about now. Thousands of the most awful violent deaths on both sides. It's all a miserable nightmare.

beachcitygirl · 12/10/2023 18:39

@Dibblydoodahdah who (and please quote the post ) is justifying or attempting to justify Hamas behaviour on this thread.

Once again can you unequivocally condemn the nurseries behaviour & war crimes of the Israeli government like everyone on this thread has condemned Hamas?

Or do deaf Palestinian babies just not matter to you.
BECAUSE that is how you come across.

beachcitygirl · 12/10/2023 18:40

@Myrkwood Most Palestinians are Innocent.
Most Palestinians are children.

beachcitygirl · 12/10/2023 18:54

A bit of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians is just fine by me is not the line anyone should be taking.

You couldn't be more wrong. Even before the attacks, Netanyahu had plummeted in popularity for forming a far-right coalition and advancing antidemocratic legislation, and every poll had him suffering a landslide loss if an election were to be held. Now the anger against him has simply ramped up several notches. Anger that the best divisions of the army were taken off the borders to provide security for extremist settlers in the West Bank who are his coalition partners. Anger that he allegedly received intelligence before the attacks and didn't act on it. Anger that his government incited and provoked division among the Israeli people and claimed that opponents of his policies were traitors - many of whom are among those putting their lives on the line for their country today. Anger that he and his government disappeared after the attacks apart from one cliched speech, and it took five days for ONE minister to take any responsibility for the colossal failure (of intelligence, of preparedness...) Anger that the official response has been pretty much a shambles.

I don't think there's any way he is going to come out of this well.

what do you think I wish for? Jihad?! 😂😂😂

Right, so because I don’t agree with Israel’s treatment of Palestinians I am now a supporter of islamic terrorists? Laughable.

And I was talking about posting pictures of dead children from either side on this thread just being wrong.

Disagreeing with Israel does not automatically make you an apologist for Hamas. Fact. I oppose and condemn both and we will never agree if you think that what is happening in Gaza right now is ok.

beachcitygirl · 12/10/2023 19:02

It's certainly how some ghouls have come across.

Every single person on this thread has rightfully (and thank god) condemned Hamas evil terrorism.

I've yet to see quite a few posters condemn the war crime of the collective punishment of 2.2 million people (mostly - over 60% kids) because of the actions of a terrorist organisation

By the Israeli Government

I'll say that again
Colllective punishment
2.2 million people

Also known as War Crime.
