Hi all,

Brand new thread!

I started it so I must get a BFP before the end - them's the rules.

OP posts:
lucysnowe · 14/06/2010 13:36

Hi all, just popping in

hopefully I did read that EWCM means ov is still to come but some women have it just before RTD - SWI anyway, I agree!

Have just worked out that if all goes well this month my 2ww will come when I'm on hols in France - did consider giving SWI a rest this month so I can guzzle red wine and camembert with inpunity but don't really want to waste a whole cycle so will just have to go easy. Besides last month I was so sure I was pg I stopped booze and caffeine - what a mug! this time will just act as normal methinks.

Good luck to those reaching the end of their 2ww!

bessie26 · 14/06/2010 15:13

Bonjour ladies! Got back from our week in France & am feeling nicely relaxed (& possibly a little bit porkier around the middle )

Just had a real quick nose through the thread - congrats to LadyBee! hope you are feeling ok?

magichen sorry to hear your first RTD is so awful - I've not had mine yet, so will be heeding digitalgirl's advice & getting my arse up off the sofa & doing some exercise.

lucysnowe - someone told me it was ok to "drink until it's pink" (i.e. until you get a BFP) - can't remember why, but they did give very convincing reasons - perhaps because it can't get to the baby until it's properly implanted & settled?

As this is out first cycle after m/c, we decided we'd be very relaxed about TTC this cycle (i.e. we both drank wine on holiday!) and that I'd temp, but not do any real "charting" as such until next cycle.... but then I had 3 days of unmissable EWCM starting on CD16 and then I noticed my temps were going up so I had to chart (on my iphone app!) - all looked great until CD24 when my temps started coming down again, so I'm assuming I tried to O, but didn't manage to push the little eggy out?

must rush now as need to take DD to her swimming lesson!

hairytriangle · 14/06/2010 17:10

just a quick post and run update - hcg down 50% over last week to 29. Going in the right direction

Moofold · 14/06/2010 19:12

Great sutff Hairy, that's a relief for you at last.

Thanks for the support 8s. I'll see how I'm feeling when the opportunity arises to visit - she had a rough birth so not out for a bit. I'll try not to put it off though, it probably would get worse and grow heads the longer I left it. You're right.

Digi we liked your sis in our house! Hope she manages to do something music related, she had a great voice. I was not a fan of Rikki however.......

CBFM question please. I missed my 3 hour window of opportunity on Sunday (by about 15 mins) and it refused to accept the stick I'd PO. Then this morning I woke up, stumbled into the bathroom, POAS, switched it on and it doesn't want one and won't accept being force fed one. Its now started to make all manner of rash assumptions about where I am on my cycle. I feel like I'm being punished!! Anyone know what its up to? Trust this to happen right in the middle of my peaks.

batteryhen · 14/06/2010 19:17

Evening all,

How is everyone on the monday evening?Popped in earlier, but am going to try and name check

empty sorry to hear about your spotting, I suppose at least you can start charting now if you want and get your cycles right. lucy I have been on a hen weekend during my 2ww, didn't go mad but didn't abstain entirely! hairy glad to see you are going down (so to speak). viv I hope you are enjoying the sun and getting some secret SWI!!hopefully milk is always good for heartburn, heres hoping its a little sign x magic8 I did think about implantaion pain - epecially as they have now worn off, but I really would be very surprised as I think i have missed the boat with DP being away....but time will tell

A big wave to everyone else - Its impossible to name check everyone !!!xxx

BUnderTheBonnet · 14/06/2010 19:40

Hi everyone!

Moof My latest cousin was born just before I mc-ed and I thought going to visit her would break me, but it didn't and I actually really enjoyed having a cuddle. It reminded me why I was prepared to go through all this again if necessary.

6 dpo. Dum de dum.

Evening lovelies! I hope that everyone who is feeling grotty feels better soon. x

Quick acronym question: RTD? I think I've worked out what a WTF cycle is, I am SO looking forward to that, yay.

magichen · 14/06/2010 21:14

hi ladies.

Good to see your nice and relaxed now bessie, i took digitalgirl advice and went on a mad cleaning spree today, cleaned house from top to bottom, dont know where i got the energy from but it stopped me from sitting moping and feeling sorry for myself!

So i was thinking of buying a CBFM, quick question tho..can you start using it mid cycle or do you start using it from CD1? and do you have to pee on a stick everyday?

Hopefully · 14/06/2010 21:21

Ooh, waiting eagerly to hear more info on CBFM - definitely getting one as soon as RTD arrives (assuming it's another BFN this month)

bessie26 · 14/06/2010 22:14

magichen & hopefully you have to start using the CBFM in the first few (3 or 5, I can't remember) days of your cycle.

I only used mine for a few cycles before I got pg (will be resuming usage once RTD arrives) - you have to use the sticks in batches of 10 - the first cycle I think I used 20 sticks (it has to "get to know you") then 10 after that.

LadyBee · 14/06/2010 22:39

Hello m'dears,

All quiet here, cramping has subsided which is good, but no symptoms still (maybe the tiniest shadow of nausea today) so not feeling totally confident. However, I am past my first early MC mark, so I'm going to be brave and jump down to the grads list. I'm trying really hard NOT to be superstitious and just take what comes.

magichen and LAF, I hope you're starting to feel a bit better. Sorry these first months are hard. I do think it's just time that makes it easier and the word should that makes it harder. The expectations we put on ourselves, the 'I should be able to cope' - says who? why not just not cope for a bit, be upset, be pissed off, be unreasonable. Maybe not forever, but at least for day. Go easy ladies.

hairytriangle so pleased to see you're heading in the right direction.

Moofold did you get two days of peak? or did you miss your second day? It'll give you one day of high after the peaks and then go down to low even without testing. I read the instructions again after it did that to me without a stick and I'm pretty sure it just assumes that pattern.

Hopefully fingers crossed you don't need to buy one, but if you do, you have to wait until the beginning of the cycle. You have up until day 5 to set the start of the cycle though. For the first cycle it'll ask you POAS every day for 10 days from day 6 (I think), if it detects a surge in that span, it stops asking for a test after the 10th. If it doesn't it'll ask for another set of 10 tests to detect a later surge. Once it figures out when you're likely to get your surge it'll start asking for tests closer to the time so you shouldn't have to do 20 tests every month , but it'll always do it in batches of 10.

lurkingly yours, ladybee

Muser · 15/06/2010 09:01

Morning jolls. How are you doing? Any symptoms to report yet?

randomimposter · 15/06/2010 09:12

Muse
In short, yes. But probably imagined!! Tender norkages, needing to pee more, tummy twinges (some breathtakingly sharp!). I have been stalking you on your young people's thread (not really but did spot you on latest posts) so know you have also been experiencing definite signs. I plan to POAS on Sat if I'm still in by then.

Was going to do Sun, but maybe (hopefully) repeating last year's Father's Day BFP is a bit too spooooooky... that one didn't end too well .

In my superconfident moments I think we will both get a BFP this month; I remember you as Monstrous Muser on my first ever bus, and think we both deserve it NOW! (As of course does everyone else ). Here's hoping.

Hopefully · 15/06/2010 09:21

Oh dear god, somebody shoot me please - I have bought a pair of first response tests. just to be clear, RTD not even due for another week, and have not the least little sign of being PG. Have officially lost the plot.

I'm all stressed to think that I might have had delayed OV this month, and therefore we've completely missed the boat by not SWI at anything like the appropriate time. Which means I am definitely either temping or getting CBFM for next cycle (assuming BFN this one).

Ladybee well done for being brave!

Thanks for CBFM info too Ladybee and Bessie

randomimposter · 15/06/2010 09:27

hopefully tis not losing the plot to BUY sticks, only lunacy to pee too early. You're just being prepared

youremindmeofthebabe · 15/06/2010 09:37

Ladies, Do we think I need to wait a period before TTC? ERPC on the 1st June. Is it just for dating purposes, or does there seem to be a good reason?

Many thanks

Muser · 15/06/2010 10:01

My symptoms have been a bit flakey really jollster. Metallic taste has gone. Boobs are normal and with previous attempts they got noticeably bigger and tender. And now I have spots on my chin, which is normally a good indicator that RTD is on its way.

But you're right, we definitely deserve our BFPs! Your symptoms sound very exciting, I shall keep fingers crossed for you.

bessie26 · 15/06/2010 10:06

hopefully - this really is one of the good things about temping - I was sick a few months back & through temping was able to see that while my body was trying to O, it never quite managed it that cycle... temping & CBFM also spotted the extremely early O I had the following month (CD 10 I think)

  • don't know why I bothered saying that because you're not going to need it!!

and I always have at least one stick ready & waiting - i get them from amazon (cheapest place I found for CBFM & sticks too) so I always order them in plenty of time on the free delivery thing. As jollster says, I am being prepared (not neurotic )

youremindme - after my m/c last summer they told me the only reason to wait was for charting. After m/c last month they told me it was best to wait a cycle as "some studies have shown" you were more at risk from another m/c - I have to say I didn't believe it (and got some backup from people here) - i think just do what you feel is right for you...

Hopefully · 15/06/2010 10:26

Youremindmeofthebabe (great name) I also understood that the main reason for waiting was for dating purposes. I would say if you're ready, go for it, but if you personally think you need time to heal, wait a while. It's also worthe being prepared for the much rumoured post-MC fertility boom to not be true - I reckon it took a good couple of cycles before I ovulated again after MC, despite MC being really early and my cycles returning to normal length immediately.

Sorry, that sounded really negative! What I mean is, go for it whenever it seems like a good idea to you. Bugger the doctors

randomimposter · 15/06/2010 10:45

youremindme I agree with much of what Hopefully has said. FWIW I waited for first period after ERPC last summer, and then had 3 strange length cycles (one long, 2 very short) and limited evidence of Ov. I got a bit obsessed with TTC and got really quite low when bastard RTD arrived.

After my 2nd MMC in Feb I MC naturally, started having acupuncture and was advised to wait a couple of cycles before TTC again. At first I was a bit at that (I'm 42 so blardy ancient), BUT on reflection it's been really good for me to have a break from the obsession AND I really focused on enjoying time with DS. He may turn out to be my only child, I don't want to regret wasting precious months and months with him focusing on what I don't have.

What am I saying? You do what feels right for you. There's no right path. (DS at nursery today so am not neglecting him by slurping tea, eating choc and browsing MN ).

Cheepz · 15/06/2010 11:07

jolls all sounding very promising - exciting!!! am rooting for you this month since I am in the halfway house of wttc

youremind there is some information indiciating that because an erpc removes all of your womb lining you should wait one cycle to make sure that your lining is 'think' enough to sustain another pregnancy .. but there are people who have got pregnant straight away and not had any problems so its clearly not that scientific. I waited after my erpc and next RTD was very heavy and long - ie not normal it was only second RTD after erpc which was back to normal so for me it took two cycles for body to be functioning normally - but thats not to sayt we might not have had a sucessful pregnancy if we had been trying... also after jan mc (no erpc) i got pregnant in feb and had another mc and did wonder if it was because I hadn't let body get back to normal

hopefull i agree with whoever said its good to be prepared, just don't do them yet!!!!

muser symptoms come and go in early preggers so fat lady still silent for you as far as I am concerned!!

I am at work, not working and hoping we will exchange this week - we are ready so it is down to the rest of our chain to get it together, fingers crossed!! It is definitely so stressful that I am glad we are waiting to ttc as if i was tww now on top of everything else that would about finish me off!

Hopefully · 15/06/2010 11:11

Oh, and lol at being prepared jolllster. Just in case I forget that we're TTC and don't think to buy and tests before RTD is due
