A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

Very quiet on here today! Hope everyone is out enjoying the sun.
DH had a good night last night - spent most of it watching his friend trying to chat up girls and getting blown out by them. Typical of his friend (he & I don't get on, if you can't tell ) - supposed to be spending it with DH catching up before he goes to Afghan but instead spends it trying to pull.

Today we've been out to do some shopping and a lovely late lunch in our garden. I'm now in the process of baking a cake - check out the domestic goddess!

Anyway hope you're all having a good weekend.

Ariesgirl · 24/04/2010 19:38

Why so quiet, birds? Or do you all have proper social lives unlike me?

CaveMum · 24/04/2010 19:59

I'm still here!

What you been up to today Aries?

Ariesgirl · 24/04/2010 21:01

Um, not much. Went to work early this morning and then came back early because it was cancelled (don't ask!) Did a few jobs. Had a sleep as was a bit hungover. Now watching the National Lottery with the lovely Gethin. Riveting stuff, eh? You?

CaveMum · 24/04/2010 21:43

Pretty quiet day too. DH was a tad hungover so we had a quiet morning watching Saturday Kitchen before toddling round the shops.

I guess we're the only ones without a social life

claire196 · 24/04/2010 21:52

No no ladies, I'm here too, trying to work but lurking here and generally consumed with whether or not I'm ovulating... so no social life here!

Junglebob I've realised that I didn't add a day for you yesterday so I've jumped you forward 2 today.

Two lists on one page? Just shows how quiet its been. It was a lovely day outside yesterday so I hope everyone was topping up their tan (no sunburn!).

cavemum and aires Your saturdays sound very familar! Any cake left over cavemum? Maybe the offer of home baking will bring the frolickers back.

In TTC news, fertility friend moved my ovulation day by 2 days. Grr. I had an odd low temp on Thursday (high Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun) which could have been caused by a really bad nights sleep & getting up in the night. If I include it I ov'ed on CD14 but if I disregard it then I ov'ed on CD12. Hmmm. I feel like ignoring it means I timed SWI better but surely you can't just move the figures around until you are happy with the outcome?! Its like cheating the system. Only other clue is the CBFM which said peak on CD 12 and 13 so an ov on day 14 would make sense.

Anyway this is hurting my head and properly makes no sense to anyone but me. Theres nothing I can do about it now anyway

Have a good sunday all. I am off to see my little sister today before she heads back to uni.

haloflo · 25/04/2010 10:25

claire196 Whats your thoughts on whether you are ovulating? Maybe we can help? (Or maybe i'm just nosy.) Hope you got lots of work done.

moulesfrites · 25/04/2010 10:28

Can I join? Just joined Feb bus, although think if i am succesful this month, I would be due end of Jan.

So

claire196 · 25/04/2010 10:52

haloflo I completely understand your worrying over ovulation dates. Until we get to go crazy over symptom spotting pg it's all we've got to focus on. (As you can guess, work is generally not going well!).

It sounds like you probably ov'd on day 14 since that's what CBFM points to. I'm only on day 9 but have short cycles and this is my first one properly charting and POASing like crazy on cheap internet OPKs. Still no positive but had loads of signs, cramps, EWCM, and a temp dip today and yesterday. Bla bla bla, it's all really dull and what I should really do is grab DH and have a shag just in case!
Sorry for going on and on. Hope you are all having a lovely sunday.
Welcome moulesfrites. Will you be charting or just getting down to business? I'm only on cycle 2 (ttc#1) but already gone charting crazy. These threads will draw you in!

CaveMum · 25/04/2010 11:13

Good morning ladies & welcome to moulesfrites Haloflo still some cake left - lovely Victoria Sponge with WAY too much buttercream!

It's currently raining here in Suffolk after a lovely day yesterday. Hope it dries up soon as I did a pile if washing over night and want to get it out on the line.

Quick question for you all. I've got to buy a pressie for the girl in my office who goes on maternity leave on 7 May (tries not to be ). we are throwing her a baby shower & the company she works for (her company and mine share office space in a converted house) are buying a hamper and filling it with baby-gros, nappies, cotton wool, baby lotion, etc. Now I was wondering, do I get a pressie for the baby (she doesn't know what she's having) or a pressie for her? Part of me thinks that it would be nice to get her something (maybe a pamper pack or similar) as everyone will be buying the baby something.

What do you think?

Ariesgirl · 25/04/2010 11:19

Definitely get something for her I think. Get her some pampery cosmetics, lovely body lotions and the like. She's going to be inundated by baby presents.

moulesfrites · 25/04/2010 12:08

clare196 I have signed up to fertility friend and thinking about ordering that weschler book from amazon. Need to get a thermometre too. Might see what happens this month first though.

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 13:46

Alright ladies, need some frolicker magic here. My period is due any day now, keep your fingers crossed for me.

claireinthecommunity · 25/04/2010 13:56

Afternoon all, no social life for me this weekend just work. Both gigs went extremely well absolutely shattered now, still in bed hubby brought me down a cuppa and my notebook (well trained and all that!)

My cramping is getting stronger, so I feel she (AF) will be making her presence known soon, onto month 12 of TTC for me. I remember coming off the pill this time last year, I knew it may take some time to happen, but probably didn't think I would still be here a year later. But here I am, still trying, the world hasn't stopped spinning, I'm still in love with DH (maybe even more so) and it will happen when it happens

Hello to anyone new

I shall get back to more responsive posting once I've recovered from the weekend

claireinthecommunity · 25/04/2010 13:57

Fingers firmly x Kaloki

mumnerves · 25/04/2010 14:30

Hi Ladies, thought I'd just pop in to see how you're all doing.

welcome Junglebob, Oneof8 and moulesfrites moulesfrites your nick is really making me hungry, that's one of my fav meals in the whole world!

ooooh kaloki am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Claire glad the gigs went well for you this weekend, you had lovely weather for it anyway so glad you didn't get rained on or frozen either

pinkie at least af has stayed away, fingers crossed maybe it was implantation bleed?!

Mrswajs sounds like you timed SWI well this cycle.

flick Pleased to hear you'll get your life back tomorrow

Good luck anyone else testing this week and anyone ovulating, happy SWI-ing!

BTW symptom spotters, just a word of advice please don't symptom spot nausea as I really hope it's one pregnancy symptom you won't get. It's the worst thing in the world and just making my life miserable. You know when you've drunk too much and puked all over the place the night before?? Well the morning after sickness when you've decided you'll never drink again is what it feels like. Horrible horrible horrible!

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 14:46

mumnerves I've felt like that the last week or so :s

mumnerves · 25/04/2010 14:52

kaloki test test test!!

Kaloki · 25/04/2010 15:06

No testing yet, not actually late yet. Don't want to jinx it. I'm going to wait till May to test.

fudgecat · 25/04/2010 15:09

they are crossed for you kaloki x

hope to see you soon

mumnerves · 25/04/2010 15:09

I see your point, will keep my hopes up for you! x

felicityFlick · 25/04/2010 16:31

Hello Frolickers,

Off to bed now but just thought i'd pop in before bed.

Glad your gigs went well claire!

Any joy on teh lottery aries? kaloki- everything crossed for you my love. Will say no more...

Poor mumnerves- sorry you're feeling grotty Hope it passes soon and that you're soon in the blooming stage.

Well flo... funny you should say that about FF moving your OV... It did it to me today too. I put in my temp which was randomly really low today, (6/10's lower than day before...) and it moved my ovulation from day 15 to day 23! I am now on day 32 so it seems really weird.... I think that I am going to disregard it as I had a really disrupted sleep. We were out late with our visiting friends and didn't go to bed until about 1.30am, woke several times in the night whilst DH went to the loo and then let the cat out at 5 and then took my temp at 7 when we got up to see our friends off. What do you reckon? I've also been SOOO bad on the diet this weekend We took our freinds to a champagne brunch yesterday and it was a buffet so you can imagine the damage that did to my diet... Am back on it as off tomorrow.. No more visitors to disrupt my diet and 8 weeks to shed a stone How are you getting on?

Welcome junglebob and moulesfrites- yum!

cavemum I was in the same situation with a work colleague and I bought a voucher for mothercare and then got her a necklace. She loved it and was pleased to get something pretty for herself.

Thanks for your celebrating about my pils going pinkie that is exactly how I feel yay! Last visitors off tomorrow and then it is just dh and I for the first time in over a month! Can't wait to get back into a routine again and spend some time together. Only 8 weeks and then we're off for the summer hols! What are your thoughts on POAS again? I really understand what you're going through. I came off my pill in November and my cycles are still not regular. I think I will go to the doctors when AF finally arrives and see if I can get some tests done as it is really annoying me. I know I am fortunate to be having AF at all but I really thought my cycle would be regular by now.

Hi to paper and wannamummy and everyone else I've missed off. Thought this would just be quick but got carried away- back tomorrow.

xx

papertiger · 25/04/2010 18:11

Well just to update, the dreaded AF arrived today so no need to POAS after all this weekend, oh well! Still keeping my fingers crossed for you wannamummy. Maybe all my crazy symptom spotting was just signs of AF. Also found that site that someone posted with the actual symptoms of people who had just had a recent BFP really helpful in realising that I really was just clutching at straws! Thinking now I need to maybe take some more drastic action but really don't fancy the whole temp charting, and no clue how to do it really. Does anyone have a digital ovulation kit thing and is it any good?

Can the next person who does the list put me on day 2 for monday and cycle 6 please!

Welcome also to junglebob and moulesfrites and hello to everyone else. Hope nobody else got stuck in a random torrential hail and rain storm like I did today. x x

wannamummy · 25/04/2010 18:31

Hi felicityflick and everyone else, and all the newbies, I'm struggling to keep up!

It has been really quiet here the last few days.

We've been painting our bedroom all day, so I'm shattered! Just waiting for DH finish cooking then got a big packet of revels and peanut M&M's to stuff my face with!

Had a visit from our friends this afternoon with their 3yr old daugther and 2wk old son! He's so cute and gives good cuddles, but I really, really struggled not to get upset when they left...

papertiger sorry AF arrived, I really am with you on the symptom spotting - I've still no sign of AF but now cramping has stopped and really no symptons at all. Tested again this morning and still BFN... guessing I'm back to long cycles after thinking I was back in good working order - silly body, wish it would make up it's mind!

Have a good evening everyone and hope Monday doesn't hit with too much of a wallop! x
