A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

Florin · 26/05/2010 21:47

Thanks for the diagram Mrswajs made me laugh about what we try and explain to each other I also have similar temping patterns (it is my first month of temping and only half way through) however doesn't seem much pattern all I can see is when I had a cold I definitly had a temperature as it was up for the first week of my cycle and now gone down a bit. Keep looking for a rise to indicate ovulation though!
bellaby glad you are sticking around for a bit. Really pleased for you and be lovely to see how you get on. Its amazing anybody in real life I feel really however people on here I just feel really pleased for. Probably because you realise they want it as much as we all do.
Got my wicked way this morning with dh will have to work out ways of keeping him interested
This TTC lark is so frustrating, its so tricky to plan life as you just don't know what is going to go on. We got invited on a holiday next may that wouldn't be suitable either heavily pregnant or with a new baby I don't want to say no as if it doesn't go to plan and I am not pregnant I will be dissapointed not to be going however its going to be expensive to cancel and very awkward. Seems to be so many of these sort of things coming up, just wish you could just flick a switch and be pregnant so you know what its going on!

felicityFlick · 27/05/2010 09:44

Morning lovelies,

EXAM MARKING IS DONE!!!! yay so happy! Normaility is resumed! No time right now to catch up as have a birthday party this eve and a hen night tomorrow but will be back over the weekend to catch up with all of your news.

Lots of love xx

Ariesgirl · 27/05/2010 09:47

Love the scientific diagram! I'd be seriously worried!

Al this talk of temps and charts is baffling me.

Ummm....lovely day isn't it?

MrsWajs · 27/05/2010 11:00

Glad you liked my diagram Florin!!
My suggestion to you would be to go ahead and book your holiday and worry about the consequences later!! DP and I were going to book to go to the Carribean for our hols but didn't as I didn't fancy a 10 hour flight heavily pregnant but lo and behold, here we are 2 weeks before we should have been leaving and I am still distinctly un-pg!! Many people said to me as well not to put things off just because of TTC but I didn't listen! However we are still going away but to Cyprus instead - in 13 days so I'm glad I booked something. Now I just have the problem of potentially being 20 weeks pg for my friends wedding in October (I am a bridesmaid!) but again we'll just cross that bridge when we come to it. I'm sure my friend will be over the moon as my (size 12) dress is already bought and paid for.......

Temp back up again today - curiouser and curiouser!

Aries Neither science or art was my strong point - tad worrying given my profession!

Bellaby · 27/05/2010 13:07

Well done felicity - hope you manage to get out and have some fun now

I too really liked the scientific diagram MrsWajs - you can be our resident artist now!

hello everyone else. Can someone please bring the sun back out

haloflo · 27/05/2010 19:32

Hello all. Its very quiet in here. If anyone if is lurking then join in today!

mrswajs I hope you aren't gripped too much by 2ww madness today. How long was last months luteal phase? I'm sure your temps don't have to rise and rise, just stay high. I'm staying positive for you anyway. Thank you so much for the diagram. My ovarys are where I thought they were. (I thought they might be higher/lower) I knew the vague area! I've never had twinges like this before but I guess every cycle is different and I have only had 6 post pill months to compare to.

florin I know exactly what you mean about delaying plans. I turned down a festival this August which I'd have loved to go to in case im pg. I know what mrswaj means about just doing it but I understand your dilema. How soon do you have to decide? Could you definatly not cope? Could you go and do different activities? I hope you get your ov pinpointed soon,I was very excited to get the line on FF confirming it.

aries Sorry its all got very technical lately. Are you finished with SWI now? How did it go? Is it bad to say that I'm started to get a bit bored of it?

takethatlady I -stalked- read in the just shagging thread that you were planning to SWI ten days in a row??? I was seriously impressed! Hows that going (if you've time to talk to us in between ? I like the style of that thread and the relaxed attitude but don't think I have the stamina.

felicty Enjoy the partying! Well done on getting through your marking.

StreathamRanger You are on the list. Let me know your UCL and check your cycle day when you get chance. Hope your AF isn't getting you down.

cavemum How are you today? Any joy with the ov sticks or is it too easy to test?

Any news from anyone in the top of the list
chico, claire196, papertiger and junglebob??

I too hope you are ok claireinthecommunity

I'm still having ov twinges and think i've spotted some EWCM so guessing i've still not ov'ed. As there was no SWI last night I told DP it would have to be on tonight. Unfortuatly hes decided to go to the pub tonight Maybe hes not the only one who is tiring of it? I told him to be back by 10, soberish. He better not roll in at 1am drunk and sleepy.

Also this is TMI but I'm feeling a little sore this month IYKWIM. Does this happen to anyone else or you are all more hardcore than me?

Hello girls, and a very long time no speak. I don't know a lot of you on here now, but I hope that felicity and aries remember me! And congratulations to all those who have got BFPs in my extended absence.

I'm just going to do my news today as there are months to catch up on and that would just be silly - but I hope to be sticking around from now on. So, having come off the pill at the end of December, I have been having my first AF - for want of a better word - on and off for the past three weeks. TMI alert, but nothing has been bright red - very very dark and lumpy, and rarely heavy at all, which I used to experience. But then I guess that's what you get after 150days+ without a visit from AF.

Obviously, my cycles are totally screwed and I have no idea when things will get back to normal, but once I am "degunked" (DH's charming turn of phrase) then we'll just give it a go and hope for a more normal cycle!

I have bought some cheapie OV sticks to see if I can detect any kind of hormonal surge but I'm not going to bother temping until I am more confident that I might actually have something to enter on my FF chart (which has been waiting for me since January). Such a perfectionist in all things...

Anyway, that's all from me for now , but please accept me back into the fold of the FTFs, as I've missed you all!

haloflo · 27/05/2010 20:57

Hi kurly I remember you! Either from my lurker days or my posting days I can't be sure. Anyway its good to hear from you - last I remember you were off somewhere sunny? Did you have a good time?

I hope you stop bleeding soon. It must have been a tough few months for you.

CaveMum · 27/05/2010 21:52

Evening all, I've had a shockingly busy day and evening so am just catching up on things and putting my feet up after 2, yes, separate dance classes! I must be mad trying to teach/take lessons as well has have a full-time job!

haloflo as I hadn't realised ov sticks are for use around the time of ovulation and not afterwards I'm going to stick with temping this cycle and see how long it lasts! Although my temps have been very stable this cycle I did discover some EWCM during the afternoon. Very sad I know but I actually got quite excited! However if that means I am due to ovulate in the next few days it looks as though I am on course for another short cycle as I'm only on cycle day 7 now!

Ho hum!

to everyone else.

cherrycobbler · 27/05/2010 22:46

evening all. a very very belated but still squealy congrats to aly and bella. Had been thinking of you aly, so really pleased with your news. How are you feeling? Are they taking good care of you this time esp with the GD you had last time (this is all assuming you are still lurking on the TTC thread when your rightful place is chez les grads).

hello all - halo glad that you seem to be doing ok, hope this month is not too hard for you. have fingers crossed that this is your lucky month! re the soreness - this may be TMI but yes sometimes - am considering buying PreSeed (which is something I swore I would never do as it just seemed so wrong - but now... so right?)

mrsW loved the diagram but alas still no idea where my ovaries are

felicityfelicitations congrats on finishing the marking!

am completed overwhelmed at work but managing to keep my head above water - just. Not least because lots of colleagues are off on mat leave and lots of pregnant ladies "winding down". I know I shouldn't be but...

Am in the 2ww - or more like 10 days with my super short luteal phase - but not being as mentalistic about it this month as just so tired with work and family issues!

Anyway, enough doom and gloom. One more day and then long weekend, yippee! Have good fridays everyone - to everyone I've missed

MrsWajs · 27/05/2010 22:54

Glad everyone appreciated my artistic skills hee hee

Flo thought I had my mentalness under control but maybe not - now pondering the pro's & con's of testing at 12DPO? Anyone got any ideas? I know I shouldn't but I'm feeling really impatient and I guess I'm secretly quietly confident that I may get a BFP!! Surefire way to ensure I don't get one!! Aaaagh! Yep I'm still going crazy!
Luteal phase last month was 14 days so would be due on Tuesday next week if AF were to appear.

Eeeeeeee.....time for a cup of (de-caf) tea me thinks.

Ariesgirl · 27/05/2010 22:55

Hallo KurlyWurly ! Nice to see you and welcome back to the fold. Hope you're degunked nice and quickly and you can re-join with a vengeance!

Blimey though, that makes me feel like I have been on here a really long time . I know I haven't really in the grand scheme of things but it's a bit of a funny feeling to be considered on of the oldies when I felt like a newbie for ages. Onwards and upwards...

PS I know you didn't mean it like that though.

Ariesgirl · 27/05/2010 22:57

Oh and hi Halo. Did you mean you were bored by me or bored of SWI?

It went ok actually. All very nice . And no Adrian Chiles this time, mercifully...so we'll see in a week or so.

MrsWajs · 27/05/2010 22:58

Oh also meant to say to kurlyvoice I thought i remembered you too but not sure if it was maybe just your name on the list I remember or from when you were posting!?

Anyway no matter - welcome back!

aly323 · 28/05/2010 02:50

Awww Cherry, I'm too afraid to commit to the grads thread completely. I'm straddling both worlds. My betas are looking good so far. Keeping fingers crossed for tomorrows test. If those are good, I don't get anymore and will just hold tight for my ultrasound at seven weeks. No crazy symptoms. Just dizzy sometimes and peeing more than usual. No sore boobs or sickness. I am on insulin again. The diabetes thing makes this all extra nerve-wracking.

I've noticed a couple of people worrying about short luteal phases. Mine was only 9-10 days. I was certain that it was keeping me from getting pregnant, but I guess I was wrong since it happened twice now.

Kurly, I hope you get sorted out soon.

Halo, I hope you managed to catch your DH on his way in from the pub.

Ok, I'm off to ride my emotional rollercoaster some more. I'll give you all an update tomorrow.

CaveMum · 28/05/2010 07:00

Morning all. I'm up at sparrow-fart this morning as I have so much work to do before the weekend, I think I may just head into work early. I only live a 5min walk from the office, which is sometimes a blessing (if I oversleep ) and sometimes a curse (when the weather is bad, like all the snow earlier this year, I can't use the excuse that I can't possibly make it in as the roads are too dangerous!)

Anyhoo, just wanted to stop by and say good morning and I hope that everyone is looking forward to the long weekend.

aly thanks for the words re short luteal phases. I know I'm just being a stresshead which is totally ridiculous as my body is still getting used to the fact that I'm no longer pumping artificial hormones into it!

Ho hum!

I've had a temp dip this morning so that, combined with yesterday's EWCM, seems to indicate ovulation is iminent. I'll have to see if I get a temp rise tomorrow and for the next few days.

Happy Friday everyone!

haloflo · 28/05/2010 07:58

Morning all. DP came home from the pub at 9pm! This must be some kind of record!

aires I meant bored of SWI not bored of you! I feel I betrayed my DP with that statement last night so i'm taking it back. Good to hear there was no Adrian in sight this month for you.

mrswajs Don't do it! If you get a BFP you will be stressing in case AF arrives anyway, if you get a BFN you will be very disappointed. Both results will mean a stressful weekend. Test on 1 June (start the June BFP run!) Try to keep busy over the weekend - have you any plans?
We'll be here for you whatever the result though so let us know if you test sunday. xx

aly I read about your betas on the grad thread and am really pleased to see they are rising. I hope tomorrow's test goes well too and you are managing to stay sane.

cherry I'm afraid pre seed is just too wrong for me (I think its the name?
I hope your 2ww passes by very quick. I plan of keeping myself very busy for mine.

zippys · 28/05/2010 08:27

Morning lovely fellow frolickers.

Sorry I have been so absent recently just been really busy at work again!

Its lovely to see the return of a few faces (waves to everyone) and I remember you all bet you thought some of us (me inclusive) would have graduated by now!

No real news from me, I have the appointment with the inferility clinic for end of June and am in PSF at the moment. I am however struggling with when to do the 21 day blood test. Its meant to be 7 days before AF due but that falls around a weekend, do you think its better before or after the weekend?

Engagement ring still hasnt materialised, I think it is now ready so just waiting for DP to collect it and get round to proposing - but being a girl I want it NOW!!

Anyway sorry for the me me me post but I promise I will try to get on more again. (Big wave to everyone)

womanlytales · 28/05/2010 17:17

Hello fellow frolickers,
It's hard to be a lurker in this group because so much is going on - I am now terrified of losing touch - hehe.
Long weekend approaching - much needed break - -hope you all have a good one.
mrswajs be strong and busy to keep from poas. Loved the diagram too - Have no inputs given that I have twinges in the region now and then and always when they are NOT supposed to be occuring...LOL - it's tragic how many symptoms I experience at the wrong end of the cycle!! But hope eternal...and fingers especially crossed for you this cycle
Zippys I have been asked to do a D21 for the last three cycles...and due to weekend schedules ended up doing them on D20, D22 and D24 [went in on D23 and forgot to take the piece of paper that the GP gave me - dimwit that I am!!!]. So my stats are: 28daycycle/D20 - 0.3, 28daycycle/D22/35.6, 33daycycle/D24 - 5.6.
Doc said anything above 30 is confirmation that ovulation happened. When low, they look at cycle length - if it's 28 days then they suspect the test was done on the wrong day. If the cycle length is longer they say anything above 5 is an indication that something happened.
So what did I learn from all this - absolutely nothing - except for a terrible sense of disappointment that I missed the one month when it was in the soaring 35s... What's your cycle length -- typically you want to test for progesterone 7 days after you ovulated - hence the D21 for a 28 day cycle.
halo happy swi - we're approaching the sexathon period..so trying to muster up the energy to start early and finish late -- !!
Cavemum I think it's great that you're responding to the temp charts and other symptoms..and taking action. Good for you and Happy Friday
cherry have a good weekend and hope you stay busy in the 2ww.

Wave to everybody else - good luck to those poas this weekend. Here's to more bfps

Ariesgirl · 28/05/2010 18:08

Womanly that all sounds most mystifying. What do the numbers mean?

Ariesgirl · 28/05/2010 18:08
Bellaby · 29/05/2010 00:33

Evening Ladies

Just wanted to say that I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Felicity I hope that you have been having fun at your hen party/ birthday party. When does your summer holidays begin?

Takethatlady -thanks for your words of wisdom re drinking. I am very lucky that I found out so early so have been able to stop drinking now although was rather looking forward to those long summer evenings drinking wine in the sun! It's true that you go off alcohol when you are pg. How is the 10 days going? I will be seriously impressed if you complete that!

womanlytales was reading what you said about the world being full of pregnant women. My office seems to be the same. One of the guys commented on it today and I just nodded and quickly changed the subject.

Mrswajs I hope that your tooth gets sorted out on Tuesday - poor you. Lucky you going on holiday soon - that'll be lovely! Let us know if you test.....

Cavemum - you have to be the most thorough person on here at preparing pre-TTC! You will be more in control of your cycles than anyone when you finally get down to business.

Claire - I hope that you are ok and the busy stuff is going well. We miss you on here

Zippys -great to have you back!

Kkas - any more open window action planned this weekend? . Hope that was lucky for you - made me chuckle!

Aly - hopefully we'll be able to keep each other company in the grads thread when we venture over there!

Pinkie Haloflo - hope this weekend is full of SWI! Maybe rain wouldn't be such a bad thing in that sense.

Kurly it was so lovely to hear from you. I do remember you from when I first joined at the start of the year (unless I have gone completely mad)

Pipsicles - glad you popped in again this week. When my cycle got really long it was harder to come on here as there didn't seem to be anything new to report but look what happened (not sure if cd 75 is a record!?!). I'll keep my fingers all crossed for you.

Ariesgirl those numbers confused me too!

Evilgiraffe - big hugs to you. I also used this room to keep a track of my cycle day once I ran out of fingers and toes. Hope that you enjoy having your DH back in the country for a while now

cherrycobbler and Florin hello. . Hope you are not going too crazy thinking about your holiday invites!

Muser -welcome back to the lovliest group on the internet!

Lankylegs I hope that everything goes well with your tests but that more importantly this months SWI goes well.

Streathamranger - welcome. Everyone is so lovely

I am so sorry if I have forgotten anyone

DH is being absolutely lovely to me - he is so excited (much more than I thought) and can't stop grinning! I think I'm going to be really well looked after for the next 9 months. Thank goodness for getting a new bed is all I can say!

Going away next week with my Mum so probably won't be on here until next weekend.

Lots of Love

Morning all! Up early today with stepDS!
Temp is down today and was yesterday too with 2-3 days to go so not hopeful for this month. Decided not to test afterall as I'll only be upset and I have a night out tonight (hen night) and don't want to have a face on! I'll just wait until Mon/Tues and see if AF appears.

Sorry very me, me, me! Trying to keep one eye on the laptop and the other on dog/child/potty!! Will pop back later!
